Deployment is the word used to combine all the steps involved in getting a new software or computer program up and running. This can include everything from installation to setup to test-running to editing. Occasionally, the word "implementation" is used to describe the same process. Deployment can also be used when talking about implementing software updates, patches, or new additions to pre-existing software or applications.
