Digital Twin

A digital twin is a virtual model of a real object or system. Digital twins recreate physical objects, processes, organizations, or people to study their abilities without actually having to physically test them in the real world. Usually, multiple sensors will be placed on the physical object to help recreate different parts of the physical object’s performance on the virtual model (such as energy, temperature, speed, movement patterns, and more).

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Digital Twin

Digital twins differ from simulations because digital twins exist in a big virtual environment, which makes studying them much more realistic. A simulation usually only looks at one particular process, while a digital twin can run through a bunch of useful simulations to study many different types of processes. SMBs can use digital twins to virtually study their products and services before releasing them to customers.
