Their scanner/screener capability is robust, and alerts me to just the tickers that match my trading criteria. I can then use my custom screener to build an automated strategy, or trading bot. Its my new favorite technical analysis tool for all my trading across stocks and crypto. Pros It seems quicker to render charts, especially during the market open when traffic is heavy. Other platforms like Tradingview have been laggy for me during the morning open. This is a critical time when I can't afford to wait for data. Cons It is packed so full of features that it can be an intimidating user interface at first. Over time, I have become more familiar with it. I would also love to see native broker integration, but webhooks through SignalStack will do for now. I would like to see them add ChartObserver to their SignalStack brokers. Switched from [Active Trader Pro](https://www.capterra.com/p/210415/Active-Trader-Pro/) I have used Fidelity Active Trader pro in the past, but the product I am switching from is Tradingview. While I will continue to use Tradingview somewhat, I plan to scale back my subscription there to a lower-cost level. TrendSpider will cost slightly more for the features that I need, so it would be hard to maintain a premium subscription level for both products. One of the key decision points for me was the performance of each platform during the first hour of the market open. TrendSpider has been very responsive and renders chart data quickly. Cons I think you have to have a certain level of investment background to make this work for you quickly, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing as you don't ever want to jump into investments with haste. TS is a rapidly evolving product where the development team is highly responsive to requests for new functions and churns out new features at an impressive rate. Pros TrendSpider's StrategyTester is exceptional. It allows a user to backtest almost any investing hypothesis (e.g. "Buy ABC when bonds have low relative strength" or "Buy XYZ at a cross of a particular moving average" etc.). A user can also test one security based on the characteristics of a second security, which is particularly powerful. I try many investing tools and have not found anything comparable. Cons The aesthetics of charts are good but it could possibly allow a few more font choices, selective bolding/highlighting, and more ability to save favorite pages of multiple charts. Cons Just some in-the-weeds details eg. cannot drag Fibonacci extensions / retracements with the keyboard, and the screen zoom isn't always as flexible as i would like. But this is just noise vs. the overall quality of the platform.
