Pros My favorite thing about Sessions Health is how easy it is to learn how to use. I'm legally blind but the website and app are both easy to learn and navigate. I've used Athena, Insync, Simple Practice, and Epic, but Sessions Health is my favorite (because ease of learning curve). It has all the things I need and no bloat. Cons I wish the remittance and ERA setup process was more straight forward and integrated. I dread that entire process and it seems some other EMRs have this better handled. Some don't do that surprisingly. They have basically all the features of Simple Practice, but is more intuitive in my opinion. It's also not overwhelming or clunky like Athena and Epic; it has exactly what I need and none of what I don't bloating my page, like those have. Those two may be great for hospitals (no they're not but hospitals use them anyway lol) but terrible for a provider who doesn't offer medicine and has less than 10 employees. November 15, 2025 5.0 Overall, I have been happy with Session Health. The platform itself has been more reliable and easier to navigate than others I have used, and they have not gone up in price in the two years I have used them. Pros The platform is intuitive and easy to use, the telehealth has been reliable, and clients have said they like the portal better than my previous platform. It has all the features I need and is reasonably priced. Also, the customer service has been great! Outages have been very rare and are fixed quickly when they do happen. Cons They are missing what I think are basic features--read receipts for secure messages, a daily agenda email. They are updating things pretty frequently, but a lot of updates have been for features I don't use. December 2, 2025 5.0 In the past, I used Therapy Notes and it was not as convenient, didn't have as many features, and the support staff did not try to accommodate any requests. Now using SH, I feel more equip to focus on my clients then worry about some of the logistics of EHR. Anytime someone is needing a EHR, I tell them all the benefits of SH and nothing else compares! Pros The ease of each feature. The support staff is always quick to respond and helpful. Clients report using SH is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I love how much I can do within SH, but it does not seem overwhelming or confusing. I also love the price (especially how it has not changed, minus taxes) and how the calendar syncs to my personal calendar! Cons There is no app for therapist or clients. When accepting a portal request, it takes you to the note page which does not make any sense. I wish it took us to the calendar to view the appointment instead. - When looking at our calendar view, instead of arrows for 1 week at a time, I wish there was a calendar pop up to help select a day/time instead of clicking 1 week at a time. I tried Simple Practice, My Best Practice, Therapy Notes, and I believe one other EHR before choosing Sessions Health. For the price, ease of use, customer service, and neurodivergent-friendly interface (speaking as a neurodivergent therapist) it's been marvelous. Pros I really enjoy the recent changes to the interface that make things more distinguished and easy to read. I enjoy everything about the calendar, especially the various options available for each appointment, the ease of moving things from day to day, and the ease of creating various calendars for different services. Honestly I enjoy everything about Sessions Health. For more reasons than I can name, it's my chosen EHR above Simple Practice, My Best Practice, and the few others I've tried. I've felt very satisfied with Sessions Health customer service and all its included features, especially at this price point. Cons It's hard to say what I like least, only because it's hard to find something to dislike. I guess for me, it's been the built-in Telehealth option. I tried it a year ago and it glitched for about 3 or 4 sessions in one week. So, I ended up switching to Zoom. I can't speak to how it works now, if there's been any updates or not. I've heard from other therapists online that it works for them with no issues. Don't have random changes or upgrades changing the layout like I have at other places. It's not overwhelming and feels really easy to use. Cons I wish in the Insights page there were more ways to customize how I see my income. Eg being able to enter a certain time period to look at income vs last 30 days, 12 weeks, year. The support and tech team are clearly invested in making it an good experience. Pros I love the interface, how user friendly it is, and how quick and convenient onboarding process is for my patients. Making my own templates is a breeze. It's an ethical company that does not use patient information for AI training. Team are quick to respond, and are very open to feedback. The price is very fair. Cons Some things are very clear about filing insurance claims, especially secondary claims. Pros Their customer service is like no other company I have worked with and particularly an EMR. Above all else, a quick response, considerate questions and thoroughness are most important to me. I also wanted to have the auto scoring assessments like I did previously in my EMR and they just started adding those which makes life much easier. Cons I would like the interface to have a bit more variability in fonts and bold typeface to help some things stand out better in note templates and the client charts. It is well rounded, very customizable, and client approved for sure. Thanks for valuing practice feedback — also another beautiful pro of this software. Pros I love how user-friendly and easily understandable the EHR is. I appreciate how quick you can select already created online forms, or make quick changes by easily editing sections of a document. My clients really love the convenience of booking or making changes to an appointment via the online portal as well! And the biggest pro, the affordability — especially for a small, one-person practice with a part-time client-load. This is major for me. Cons I feel like it’d be very nice if Sessionshealth had their own integrated payment software, so I could get all of my payment/tax info in one place. It is affordable, responsive, and user friendly." September 19, 2024 5.0 Overall I have been very pleased with Sessions Health and feel confident recommending it to other providers. Pros Sessions offered free EHR for up to 3 clients. I appreciated this financially risk free way of integrating EHR into my practice. During the several months using Sessions, they have been incredibly responsive to the limited issues that have occurred and are always reaching out to providers to seek feedback on how to improve the platform. Then, they actually integrate these changes and do not charge us more for having them. The affordability and responsiveness of Sessions has been amazing. I know of many colleagues who have come over from other platforms after learning about Sessions, and they also have positive things to say about this experience. Cons The one thing I can think of that is the clunkiness of sending forms to clients. That would be a great area to improve or even redesign. I would also love to be able to attach forms to the session when scheduling an appointment, much like the session feedback form. This would be very helpful for periodic assessments like the PHQ/GAD and for sending clients updated disclosures and consents and ROIs. It was easy to setup and continues to be easy to use. I appreciate the responsiveness of the support team and the Sessions Health Facebook community. I recommend Sessions Health all the time and will continue to do so. I'm excited to see what additional features continue to become available! Pros I like how user friendly the platform is, the ways it's structured to support couples work, the ease of verifying benefits and submitting claims. The support team is also great and very responsive! Cons There are a few features I would still like to have such as limiting the amount of sessions that can be scheduled in a day, additional text reminders, and bulk submission of claims. Licensed Professional Counselor Mental Health Care Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Outstanding Electronic Health Record for Clinicians" October 24, 2024 5.0 Absolutely outstanding! \[sensitive content hidden\] was so instrumental in helping me understand the portal and he even did a virtual tutoring session for me. Pros The personalized customer service is what makes sessions health stand out for other electronic health records. They are always available and one of the best things is they always love hearing from us as clinicians as to how they can enhance their EHR. I've personally recommended a couple of ideas and they've implemented them which has made my job so much easier. Cons Nothing. They are the best EHR! Having the ability to send out reminders and customize them to best meet, our clients needs is really helpful. Also being able to upload files and other documents to the individual. Pros It’s is less expensive than other major EHRs, it is simple to use, customer support/service is amazing, it does everything I want and more. Cons I’m not really sure, I like everything about it.
