Overall the process of switching over was very smooth. We were able to get everything set up quickly and have seen an uptick in sales and search engine hits steadily. They are also very attentive and helpful.

Pros

Owner was able to produce a better version of our previous website and app, for cheaper than we were paying before. They also track our SEO, allowing us to target customer bases better and shore up issues we find along the way. They also make saving customer information for online payments simple, allowing for more retention in potential customers.

Cons

The primary negative in working with one of their websites is that while it is easy to build out pages for the site, more advanced customization isn't possible on your own or at all in some cases.

Overall experience has been very positive. Expectations were explained well up front and they delivered what they said they would. Things took a little longer than I thought for initial "go live" but some of that was probably on me delaying/reviewing menu items. Support is fantastic so far (only needed to call after go live 1 time). Site works, hardware works, integration works, reporting works, marketing works. Order management is simple from the site or directly on the tablet which hasn't been my experience with other platforms. The ongoing training, online tutorials and webinars are great too. Overall experience has been very positive and I'm hoping it continues to be so.

Pros

So far the absolute best thing about Owner.com is the ease of use. Setup was dead simple, hardware worked right out of the box, website was built for me and they took feedback and made changes without me having to do anything other than review it. SEO is setup and is starting to work. Automated marketing has went out and is showing results. Reporting is decent and customer feedback is routed through the app for easy review. The menu is easy to edit and integration with Doordash so I could get rid of a tablet and printer makes it even easier (setting that up took 2 minutes). Ease of use is the best part about it.

Cons

The communication from the representative that was my guide through all of the pre-live items AFTER I went live. Maybe I missed it but after you go live you are handed off to the regular support team and I didn't know that so for a day or so I felt like communication stopped. Once the correct method of communication was .... communicated things went super well. The support team answers the phone or emails quickly and actually have the answers and ability to fix/support the platform.

Chownow did not have the features we needed with marketing, customer loyalty and zero ability to control or change the very basic automated marketing they sent out. Couponing and promotions were very limited, their app was basic and boring and with no loyalty program why would anybody use the app in the first place.

Pros

What I liked most about Owner.com was the friendliness and the onboarding savings for signing up. The integration was seamless which was easy and did not disrupt any business operations.

Cons

What I like least about Owner.com is the fast tracking push and the lack of listening to what the restaurant operator is looking to achieve.

Overall, the vendor has failed to deliver the promised services, resulting in operational disruption, reputational damage, and financial loss.

Pros

We selected this vendor initially because their ordering website interface was visually appealing and seemed well-designed.

Cons

First, communication has been extremely disorganized. Without our acknowledgment and consent, Owner sent promotional emails mitipal times (including discounts and free item offers) to our entire customer database. These campaigns were not clearly written, resulting in significant confusion. As a result, many dine-in customers came in expecting free items, creating operational disruptions and financial loss. Second, the system itself is unreliable and incomplete. On multiple occasions, online orders placed by customers were not transmitted to our POS system (Toast). Customers arrived to pick up their orders only to find that their food had not been prepared, leading to frustration and multiple negative reviews. Additionally, the refund system is severely limited. It only allows refunds by entering a total amount, without the ability to process itemized refunds. This creates serious complications, especially when taxes and tips are involved, and falls far below the standard functionality expected from a professional POS-integrated system. Most importantly, Owner markets themselves as providing SEO services. However, they have failed to deliver even the most basic SEO implementation. For example, our service areas are not listed on our website, which is fundamental for local SEO. We have had independent professionals evaluate the SEO performance over several months, and the results have shown no meaningful improvement. We raised these SEO concerns over two months ago and followed up again two weeks ago. To date, we have received no response.

One of the biggest benefits has been shifting sales away from third-party platforms like DoorDash and onto our own website, which means lower commission costs and more revenue staying in our business. While the onboarding process took some time and we had a few setup details to work through, the customer service team has been responsive and helpful every step of the way. Overall, it’s been a great investment for our restaurant and has helped us build stronger direct relationships with our customers.

Pros

What I like most about using Owner.com⁠￼ is that it allows us to offer our customers the same pricing they would pay in-store, even for delivery orders, without the inflated menu prices that come with third-party apps. It gives us more control over the customer experience, helps us build direct relationships with our guests, integrates with our POS system, and keeps more of every sale in our business instead of paying large commission fees. The website is easy for customers to use, includes online ordering and rewards, and ultimately helps us provide better value while supporting a locally owned business.

Cons

What I liked least was that the onboarding process took some time, and we still had a few integration and setup issues to work through. However, Owner.com has been very responsive, and we’re getting close to having everything running exactly the way we want.

The online payments flow through regularly, the visibility we enjoy via search engines is invaluable, and the ability to save our guests money when ordering for delivery with a consistent and fair delivery fee has increased our rates of guest retention. The post-go-live support has been at a high level, and their team made absolutely sure we had 100% competency before launch.

Pros

Detailed, knowledgeable on-boarding team that took the time to understand our business and its voice. Immediate results with improved SEO and better communication with guests. The guest-facing side of the product is an excellent user experience.

Cons

The fee structure takes a minute to get used to, and I miss our brand-identity colors and fonts, but I believe we can add more design and content elements as we thrive on the platform

It has been about 3 weeks since I started and I truly love how they are proactive about making onboarding simple. Their interface on their dashboard is easy to use and learn. The onboarding team and success management team were very helpful solving any questions I have.

Pros

I had a great experience with onboarding with their team. But also the integration was very easy on my end. For the price I am paying, the AI friendly website was quickly built and all my online ordering system and 3rd party delivery was set up. Since their delivery fee is a set price, I do not have to pay 25-30% fee to 3rd party delivery. I also like how any negative feedback from the guests is sent to my phone and email directly so I can address it quickly. Any issues or questions I have, I have support person assigned to my company that is very helpful.

Cons

I wish they have more tools for POS, and AI answering system for restaurant owners. But I hear that they are developing it right now. Very excited to learn more about their products.

It's being sold as a premium product to increase revenue but isn't that. there is no support on how to actually increase revenue which is the reason for paying the premium

The SEO part is great. Everything else is trash!

Cons

Their customer service is worst and you cannot customize anything. Any problem you have they will open the ticket then say that they will get back within 24 hours and their 24 hours will never come.

Owner.com is a fantastic company that helps businesses attract more customers and prevent you from paying higher fees for DoorDash or Uber eats which those two companies could kill your business easy. I love how easy their software is and very simple to use. It took me couple months to think of having owner.com and honestly I feel like that time was wasted. I should’ve jumped on board right away because that’s what my business needs

Pros

Our website look much more professional with Owner.com. It also has much lower fee than other delivery platforms. Their delivery fee is also lower than using Square online. It also offers free auto text and email marketing.

Cons

The online payment system (Stripe) sometimes failed to prevent fraudulent transactions. However Owner.com reimburse us for those lost. But you still have to spend time to let their customers services know so they can reimburse you.

Not at all worth the spend. I wish we would have given that money to a local business who would've listened to what we wanted and who we are.

Pros

We saw a slight increase in online orders, but nowhere near enough to cover what we spent. I can't think of much to put in the "pros" column.

Cons

They didn't listen to us at all during our meeting to design the website. We're a plant-based restaurant and they talked about our "locally sourced meats." They seem to just assume they know your brand identity, and then go from there. They also sent us some very cheap looking cards that had out of focus graphics to give away $10 an order. That was their big advertising idea. Not at all worth $500 a month for a small business.

My Online Ordering is SEAMLESS! My site is trendy, eye-catching and impactful. I am confident that the design keeps customers on my site longer than average; and the cross-selling and up-selling attributes are subtle to the user, but powerful to my bottom line. But in reality, many companies design great ordering sites. It's Owner.com's COMBINATION of a stellar site partnered with even more stellar CUSTOMER SERVICE that really seals the deal for me.

Pros

To begin, their website developers are genius! The sight is classy, incredibly user friendly and attention-grabbing. It truly portrays the professional, reputable and fun establishment that we are! It is a sight that far exceeds ANYTHING I could have designed!To be honest, there have been integration issues at times; but I do understand that several "systems" talking to each other won't always be flawless. However, (unlike calling most POS customer support lines) I never dread calling Owner.com support. My call is always answered quickly, and by someone I can understand. This last part...that I can UNDERSTAND the rep... has been what has kept me from throwing my computer out the window in times of frustration. As the restaurant owner, when an ordering or menu glitch has popped up, I don't have time to try to figure it out...that's not in my wheelhouse. And it's Murphy's Law that it will happen when we're swamped; but the crew on the end of the 1-800 number are ON IT! It is THE BEST customer service I've ever experienced! In addition, I also have my designated Owner.com account manager; \[sensitive content hidden\] is an email or phone call away and he has helped me tremendously. My app recently went live, and that was a seamless process as well. In addition the the class-act site and phenomenal layers of customer support, the abundant (& complimentary!) full-color marketing materials they send for my staff & I to distribute and display take one more thing off my plate.

Cons

I did experience some VERY challenging issues with my menu integration; so much so that at one point, I was ready to cancel. However, my Owner Account Manager took the necessary steps to ensure I had direct communication with more of a "menu expert" from the integration platform, rather than their basic "customer service" support level. To have a direct line with someone who knew what I was talking about before I even finished my sentence made all the difference in the world!

Beyond my expectations. And to have a dedicated account manager that has marketing my business as his priority if such an added bonus. I send him weekly specials and pictures and he sends emails to my customer base.

Pros

As a 1 shop operation, I’m no longer being taken advantage of by the 3rd party delivery apps. There is not enough margin to pay 25% in fees. I feel like they are my broker for all online and delivery orders, I don’t have to do anything to generate those sales.

Cons

Can’t think of a single negative. Our year anniversary is end of June. It’s been the best decision, and wish we had found them sooner is only complaint.

Biggest benefit is keeping my customer’s information so we can continue to keep them engaged. Owner.com cares about my business succeeding, they’ve proven it over and over in this year.

I am glad I signed up with Owner.com. Compared with another delivery company , Owner.com saved me a lot of money. I would recommend this company to anyone. They have great people on their team. My regional support person , \[sensitive content hidden\] is amazing. He is very knowledgeable in the business and would go the extra miles for you. Their help supports are also very friendly and very knowledgeable in their work.

Pros

Owner.com is very affordable with not hidden fees. I was very skeptic before trying Owner.com, I was afraid it might be another scam product. After talking with the representative , I gave them a try. They offer program that I was looking for , delivery and pick up order that a customer can order themself online. Most third party delivery fees are very expensive but with Owner.com, it was very affordable for us. They are very upfront with their fees.

Cons

So far I have not have a problem that Owner.com can NOT help me. Since everything is very easy to use there is nothing I least like about them.

Overall, Owner.com has been a game changer for my business. We have grown our sales online by 3-5k a month, which has been incredible. From being a small business with very little tech savvy, owner.com has made me feel like I have a legitimate storefront online and a professional online ordering system. There hasn't been any major issues that weren't resolved quickly and timely by their customer service reps, and the overall SEO improvements because of Owner has really helped me in my business.

Pros

The best part about owner to me was the fact that they have increased my SEO optimization and I am easier to find online. I have a small restaurant business, and ranking on google and other search engines before used to be a struggle. With owner.com my brand is one of the top restaurants to pop up for a majority of mediterranean food categories which has reflected in a large growth of online orders. Also, the intuitiveness of the website and the flawless customer service interactions I have had have really made an impact on my impression of owner.com. I have had scenarios where I've needed instantaneous resolutions for delivery changes, customer issues and they have never let me down. Fantastic response times!

Cons

If there is anything I would like owner.com to improve it would probably be the lack of customization for the website template itself. They pretty much limit you to color scheme and banner customization, making all owner.com sites seems rather similar. It isn't a deal breaker but being able to have some uniqueness to our site would be a welcomed integration.
