Estimator Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Almost the BEST " August 10, 2025 4.0 Invoice fly is one of the best estimator apps on the market in terms of functionality, UI, and price. But it still has me looking else where for the reasons I stated above. Pros Ease of use, customization, presentation. Its really easy to fill out the customer information and write line item descriptions. The template options are solid. The style of the estimate nails the traditional, simple, easy to read estimate. Cons No spell check has to be the biggest con of Invoice Fly. This should be standard. The customer signature needs to be reworked. There needs to be a line for the customer to sign on a PDF. Ideally, next to the estimator signature. 'Request a signature' feature is nice but it literally asks the customer for signature before they can review that estimate, similar to the 'request approval' feature, nice, but the pop up at the opening of the estimate almost guarantees a decline. Also, the inability to write things like SQ. Ft. In the quantity section. Not all quantities are pieces, hours, or days. Eg. Sq. Ft., Inch, Cubic Ft., Pounds, Gallons, Tons. Lastly, no cover page option and no abilty to add pictures inside the line item description. Plenty of original options to make your tickets stand out. Cons Some of the formatting is a bit redundant or is default optioned backwards, IMPO. Wish they had kept the ability to access invoices from more than four months in the past on the home screen. Would just be nice to get those out of the way for seamless usage. Pros Mostly very simple and easy to use as a one man company. Saves my line items for later use for quick inputs later. Sends messages from my personal number or email, so clients don’t loose them easily. Cons Grammar Issues: I speak my narratives/client notes into Siri, but it never capitalizes the first word of the sentence. It puts a space before the first sentence. And I cannot (or don’t know how to) separate the paragraphs; so they all run together. Adding (importing) clients from iPhone for each invoice: the phone number usually gets input incorrectly. Pros Honestly the way you can manage everything, it is very simple and not only that it provides you with very useful tools. Invoice and estimate. Works just fine with me since I am a landscaper/outdoor contractor. I highly recommend this app if you don’t wanna make your life harder. I understand if you edit key items like pricing or services. But, you need to be able to add service notes and photos which sometimes takes time to put together. Pros Easy to write invoices. Service Items can be moved and reorganized. Has the ability to add photos and client signatures. Easy basic interface. Has all the features you need to run a small business. Cons CANNOT edit or add any services notes or do anything after a client signs. The signature will be removed. This means if you are a technician and you need time to write your service notes to add to the invoice and can’t make your client wait before signing, this is not an option.
