For someone with limited or no experience, this is a no brainer and easy decision to make. Pros The ease of use and ability to edit the videos and voiceover quickly is key for someone who is a one man show and time is valuable. The AI and easy to check functions make editing a seamless and painless. Cons Right not, everything is solid and as I learn and grow with the product everything is getting better daily for me. Learning what I can and cannot do and how to use all the features is a con, but for me and not the product. I watched a lot of Youtube videos just to see what this software was even capable of. Then tried it and it was very easy as I already seen it on YouTube. My main point I was to stress is that I was dreading the editing process, but with the text based editing, it is so easy! And it is very helpful to show the pauses, and I can just click and delete it. Pros I like how the user interface is very beginner friendly. Then is there was something that I needed more clarity on, Riverside has tons of videos on YouTube. Cons I had trouble at first with a lot of stuttering or lag. I was using Chrome on my MacBook, and there was a lot of stuttering. Then I tried to use it on Edge, and that solved my stuttering issues. So I'm assuming with Chrome was just taking up too much data to use with Riverside on my setup, with the camera and lights running through the usb hub. It connects very easily to other products like YouTube and Google Drive. Making things much simpler. Cons Sometimes, when recording or uploading it can take a bit. Like after recording a video at times you will have to wait a bit for the video to fully upload until you can exit the video. Pros Riverside makes podcasting easy! Among my favorite things about the platform: sound quality, magic clips, and share link. Cons The co-creator chat is okay but could be sharper in its responses. I like to ask co-creator to pull powerful quotes from episodes. It doesn’t seem to do that well. The quotes it suggests are boring and general. I don't think I would have been as successful without it! Pros Riverside’s biggest strength is its ability to record high-quality audio and video locally rather than relying solely on internet connection quality. This makes a noticeable difference, especially for interviews, because even if there’s lag during the session, the final recording is typically crisp and clear. I also appreciate the separate audio/video tracks for each participant, which gives a lot of flexibility in editing. The interface is fairly intuitive, and features like live transcription and automatic uploads are genuinely helpful for streamlining workflow. Cons That said, Riverside can feel a bit glitchy at times. I’ve experienced issues with guests having trouble joining sessions, browser compatibility hiccups, and occasional delays with uploads or processing.
