### "A Solid Tool for High-Quality Podcast and Interview Production"

April 11, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Riverside has been very positive. It’s a powerful platform that delivers high-quality audio and video, which is essential for producing professional podcast and interview content. The ability to record locally and generate separate tracks makes a noticeable difference in the final product. At the same time, there are occasional technical hiccups—particularly with uploads or performance depending on the guest’s setup—but those issues don’t outweigh the core strengths of the platform. Overall, Riverside has become a reliable tool in my production workflow, especially for remote interviews, and it continues to improve with new features geared toward content creators.

Pros

What I liked most about Riverside is the overall recording quality and reliability. The platform captures local audio and video directly on each participant’s device, which results in much cleaner, studio-level output compared to traditional web-based recording tools. I also appreciate how easy it is to bring guests on—sending a simple link makes remote interviews seamless, even for people who aren’t tech-savvy. The separate audio and video tracks are a major advantage for post-production, giving me full control when editing my podcast and video content. Additionally, the interface is straightforward and purpose-built for creators, which makes the entire workflow—from recording to exporting—efficient and professional.

Cons

What I liked least about Riverside is that the experience can occasionally feel inconsistent, especially with uploads and processing after a recording. If a guest has a weak internet connection or leaves too quickly, it can create delays or incomplete uploads, which adds stress to the workflow. The platform can also be resource-heavy—on some systems, it pushes the browser pretty hard, which can lead to lag or performance issues during longer sessions. Additionally, while the interface is generally user-friendly, certain features (like managing recordings, downloads, or understanding upload status) could be clearer and more transparent. When something goes wrong, troubleshooting isn’t always as intuitive as it could be.

Switched from

[Streamyard](https://www.capterra.com/p/213044/StreamYard/)

I switched from StreamYard. While it’s great for live streaming and quick broadcasts, I needed higher-quality recordings and more control in post-production.

### "Riverside Is A Major Part of My Success"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Overall, I love Riverside. I was doing LIVE broadcasting with them. The Magic Audio is probably my favorite part. Magic Audio is pretty amazing! The quality of sound really takes a load off of production for me, having 3 podcasts. I also love the fact that I can organize my work by "Projects". Customer service is also very real. If ever there's an issue, a real human gets back to me and acts like a human, not a robot spouting policy. In 2026, that is a major selling point. I also LOVE that Riverside genuinely keeps trying to grow and upgrade. They are never satisfied with being okay. They seem to also listen to their customers, which is why they keep getting better. I have recommended Riverside to others already.

Pros

I love that Riverside has several services wrapped in one. I have 3 podcasts and Riverside is the best bang for my buck.

Cons

My only drawback is that Riverside automatically generates AI Magic episodes or Magic Clips. I use both, but not one every single one. It's a waste. The AI Magic should only generate when we ask for it.

Switched from

[Zencastr](https://www.capterra.com/p/229807/Zencastr/)

Riverside does A LOT more for only a little bit more money. This is a huge time saver for me, which is worth more than just money.

Response from RiversideFM

April 14, 2026

Fatima, managing 3 podcasts and having Riverside be a major part of that success — that's everything. Your point about Magic Audio taking a load off production is exactly why we built it. The feedback on AI generation being opt-in rather than automatic is really thoughtful and something we'll pass along to the product team. And "a real human gets back to me and acts like a human, not a robot spouting policy" — I'm going to share that one with our support team, it made my day. – Dor from Riverside

### "Stick with Zoom over Riverside! "

November 22, 2025

3.0

Overall, it may be good for talking head videos or podcasters, but if you are an educator or want music or the ability to have a lot of co grip over the timeline graphics and text, this is not the software I would choose. The price is reasonable, but features just aren’t there for me that I use daily.

Pros

I really liked the video download quality. It was clear and high quality recordings I could use in my self-paced courses. I also liked many of the editing features like being able to take out portions of video by simply taking out the text transcript. So easy!

Cons

A lot of things were not as good as Zoom. You can’t share sound only. If you want to share your computer sound you must also share that screen with your audience or students. I’m a dance teacher so this is a feature I have to have. You can buy MP3s and then upload them to Riverside and play them, but the music will not line up with your body movements or mouth if you’re a singer in the recording. Laying music tracks over your video is nearly impossible in the editor because it randomly just jumps around. You also can’t animate graphics or text like you can if editing in Canva. Meaning, you can’t have things bounce in or anything special. The screen share is also an odd view, there is white space in the recording over the screen.

Reason for choosing Riverside

Price and ease of use were important to me. I found a lot of tutorials on YouTube for Riverside and was also recommended by a teacher friend.

I was looking for higher quality video in the recording. Riversides video quality is excellent. I was hoping to be able to also use the editor within Riverside, but it is severely lacking compared to Canva editor with being able to animate and time graphics and text.

### "Scaling my podcast to a legitimate business"

April 10, 2026

5.0

I would say our overall experience as a company is extremely positive. We have grown a ton, scaled our existing products, and offered new content.

Pros

Riverside offers the most professional, high quality virtual recording platform. From marketing/branding, incorporating an audience, having the tools to cut short form videos and share them directly to social media. Riverside is DIRECTLY tied to our growth as a podcast company, offering scalable solutions to be able to grow all of our shows.

Cons

The internet issues remain a hurdle when working with guests mostly. If not connected to strong wifi (which some people aren't) we see video become grainy, choppy, and sometimes we even lose the footage. This is very minimal, but it does present challenges from time to time.

### "Riverside is the best in class web video management software!"

May 7, 2026

5.0

Pros

I get great value out of this "one stop shop" for video streaming, editing and uploading to social media. Riverside is incredibly easy to use for all of the projects I have created. Riverside provides my all of the options I've been looking for in a podcasting software and goes beyond just podcasting as a use case. I find the management of my video files extremely easy while creating a project. When I have had issues, the self-help videos are tremendous, and their AI support is also very good. They keep adding features, so I'm sure I'll have even more good things to say a week from now.

Cons

The only critique I have is minor. The Riverside.com vs Riverside.fm website difference creates issues with my browser sometimes. I know that's primarily a me thing, but there has to be a way to get users to the right site the first time without having to log in each time.

### "Features that give podcasters time back in their post-production processes"

April 30, 2026

5.0

I've tried at least a half dozen recording and production platforms over the past decade I've been podcasting, and Riverside is the platform I finally landed on. I made the switch from Streamyard, and honestly, the combination of superior features and a better price point made it a pretty easy decision. The interface is clean, organized, and intuitive, a quality many competitors don't manage to pull off. Everything is where you expect it to be, and the overall UX just feels like it was designed by people who podcast. The Pro version feature set is robust without feeling overwhelming, and the brand kit has been a genuine standout for me. As someone who runs multiple shows, brand consistency matters enormously, and having that kit built right into the platform means every episode looks and feels cohesive without extra effort on my end. It's one of those features that saves time. Speaking of time, our team has cut post-production by about 15% since switching to Riverside, and that number still impresses me. My team can handle roughly 50% of my post-production work right inside the platform, which means fewer tools, fewer exports, and fewer headaches. The transcripts generate quickly, the video editing tools are straightforward and easy to use, and the dark interface is easy on the eyes during long editing sessions. One honest caveat worth mentioning: the brand kit can be a little tricky to find at first, and navigation has a slight learning curve in a few spots. Not a dealbreaker by any stretch. Overall, Riverside has genuinely changed how my team works. If you're wondering whether the switch is worth it, the answer is yes! Highly recommend Riverside to any serious podcaster or video creator!

Pros

Clean, organized, and intuitive UX interface Dark screen interface that's easy on the eyes during long sessions Fast transcript generation Easy video editing right inside the platform Brand kit that ensures consistent branding across every episode Robust Pro version feature set Ability to handle 80% of post-production without leaving the platform Better price point than Streamyard Reduced team post-production time by 15%

Cons

Hard to use the Brand kit, not intuitive enough. I would like the brand kit as a separate interface, as Canva uses it, so I can choose the brand kit I want.

Alternatives considered

[Descript](https://www.capterra.com/p/230702/Descript/)

Reason for choosing Riverside

Streamyard is expensive and they dropped making shorts (unless you pay more money), Descript UX just plain sucks (because it's so complicated), Zoom doesn't have good sound quality or features for podcasters, Squadcast is good, but the new owners I'm not fond of (knew the previous owners and they were amazing, but when they sold the company, the platform changed).

Switched from

[Streamyard](https://www.capterra.com/p/213044/StreamYard/)

### "Tried Everything. Riverside Is on Another Level"

April 7, 2026

5.0

I’ve tried Zencastr, SquadCast, and several others, and Riverside is a cut above the rest. I’ve been able to record hundreds of episodes with it, and it has been the most consistent out of all of them.

Pros

Honestly, Riverside just makes everything way easier. The biggest thing for me is the quality. No matter what the internet is doing, the recordings still come out super clean, which is huge when you’re working with guests remotely. I also love how simple it is to use. I can send someone a link and they’re in, no tech headaches or setup issues. That alone saves me a ton of time and stress. The separate tracks and overall workflow are really solid too. It just feels like the platform was built for people who actually record content regularly. Overall, it’s one of those tools that just works and lets me focus on the conversation instead of worrying about the tech.

Cons

I don’t like that I’m limited to scheduling only 3 podcast interviews in Riverside. I wish there were an unlimited option. Also, when I record interviews and try to stream them at the same time, the quality drops as soon as I press record and go live for viewers. I wish that wasn’t the case. It would also be great to have AI listening in real time and suggesting follow-up questions during the conversation.

Vladimir, hundreds of episodes, tried Zencastr, SquadCast, and several others, and Riverside comes out on top for consistency — that's the kind of real-world validation that means everything to us. "Built for people who actually record content regularly" is honestly one of the best descriptions of what we're going for. The scheduling limit and simultaneous record+stream quality drop are both noted — really valuable feedback, and the real-time AI follow-up question idea is genuinely exciting. ### "I use Riverside for videos and editing "

March 24, 2026

5.0

LOVE it. Super happy with the ease of the program, the quality of the videos and the fact that I can edit my videos myself without it being a total time suck.

Pros

I love the platform as a whole. I don't even have a podcast and I'm using it to short my long form videos then have it edit for me with the AI edit features and then have it products "magic clip" short form videos for me. I recommend Riverside everyone!

Cons

I would love to use the b-roll clips in my videos, but have not liked any the results thus far. Too cartoony or AI and doesn't fit my aesthetics or vibe.

### "Riverside is brilliant as an all in one platform for podcasting and video editing!"

May 5, 2026

5.0

Absolutely outstanding platform. I can not begin to share how pleased I am as they are an all in one platform. I can host my podcast, edit, make shorts, have captions for IG & blogs, photos and the cherry on top was the Youtube Thumbnail. I'm so glad I listed to my friend and signed up. Referring this platform often.

Pros

I am blown away by the editing tools that Riverside offers. They are always improving their platform with new tools and providing value for the what you are paying for the platform. When I first signed up, their customer service won me over. They are very responsive. I am in the beginning phases of starting my podcast and a good friend had referred me to Riverside as they use it. Again, I was so impressed by how easy it was to use the platform . Once I watched a couple of videos, I was good to go.

Cons

I was used to editing my videos using CapCut/DaVinci Resolve. Not being able to move items on the timeline withing Riverside was an issue. They have since resolved that issue with the latest update.

### "THE ROLLERCOASTER"

May 7, 2026

5.0

It's been a rollercoaster over the years where I've paid and have left, but it seems like we're in the good ol' days. Make features not just for the novelty of AI but actually being helpful.

Pros

As someone who's used it over the last few years, I see all the strides the company is taking to make a much better product. Before, I would stop my membership because the product couldn't make something as simple as in-picture view if I was sharing a screen while they were focusing on AI. Now it seems like they're making better features I can actually use so I feel much better about consolidating my stack.

Cons

I mentioned it in the pros about the biggest past cons I have, but I still find the web-based editor to be a little clunky but if it's for simple edits, I still use it.

### "Riverside - makes you an expert podcast producer overnight! "

March 12, 2026

5.0

Phenomenal product and made our podcast really skyrocket off the ground rather than having to spend hours learning how to use video editing software.

Pros

We use Riverside to produce our YouTube podcast, and it's truly the best most affordable app on the market. It's so easy to use it makes you look like a genius when it comes to editing and clipping. The customer support is above and beyond as well. I've had exactly three times where an issue was outside my control, and they quickly fixed the issue, communicated what happened, and fixed the entire video. It uses AI to auto edit sound to sound like studio quality, perfect picture quality, and very branding friendly.

Cons

I wish there was an easier way to manually clip moments even though the AI clipping is great. I wish it gave you the option to change the thumbnail when hosting for sites like Spotify, YouTube, etc. And I'd like it to upload video to Spotify rather than just the audio.

Overall very seamless amd honestly worth every penny. We had descript as well and that felt like overkill for what we need at this ti.e.

Pros

Very easy to use and doesnt feel overwhelming for someone whos never edited videos before. Also love how I can create snippets or hooks that are great for social sharing. Eap with captions already created for you.

Cons

Initial learning curve, especially navigating ai and their auto video reel creations. I wish there was a way to set standards first before they auto esit snippets for me. My overall experience has been great. It is easy to record, edit, and post directly from the platform. The AI editing isn't perfect but helps reduce backend editing by a lot.

### "Edit from Text; Translate on the Fly"

February 27, 2026

I began using Riverside exclusively for my podcast episode recordings, but it has since become a go-to tool for work I do on the board of the not-for-profit Charles Bruce Foundation. In fact, I often set up Zoom-like meetings with my Riverside link without any intention of recording because it works so well for me.

Pros

I have been using Riverside for a little over a year since starting my podcast. I am blown away by the ability to edit the audio through a transcript that it automatically generates of your recordings, and when I speak about it with others, such as the director of KICI radio in Iowa, they are blown away by this feature. Another recent discovery I made was the ability to do an interview with people from another country, in this case Ukraine, and get a transcript that is automatically translated. While we utilized a professional translator for the interview, the already translated transcript made subtitle work so much easier. Oh, and though I rarely use it, the ability to turn interview participants into muppets through an AI filter was cute. I may utilize that feature in the future for some attention-grabbing social media marketing.

Cons

I have had to be careful to keep some guests on the podcast after the recording was completed to ensure the full feed uploads to get the full quality. While was a bit more of a challenge when recording guests from Ukraine, it generally isn't an issue AND the quality of the podcast is MUCH better in the long run because it is not negatively impacted by wifi streaming drops.

Hi Max, thank you for the incredible review! It’s amazing to hear how you utilized our translation features for your interviews in Ukraine—that is a powerful use case. We’re also glad you’re finding value in using the studio for your non-profit work. Thanks for the 10/10!

### "This is the one. Don't second guess it"

May 18, 2026

5.0

I've been podcasting for a couple of years, and I've tried other tools. I landed here, and I stopped looking. It's not flashy, it's just dependable. And when you're building alone, and your show is a real part of what you're putting into the world, dependability is everything. I'm not switching. This is my platform.

Pros

The local recording changed everything for me. My guest's connection can go sideways, and my audio doesn't move. I do a weekly podcast and Friday Night Lives, and I need my sessions to hold. Riverside holds. The quality is there, the interface stays out of your way, and for somebody running everything solo, that's the difference.

Cons

The editor took me longer than it should have to figure out. Nobody really walks you through it. You learn it by doing it, which is fine, but it could be smoother. And the pricing tiers can feel like a stretch when you're building lean and every dollar has to earn its place.

### "0 to Podcaster with Riverside"

March 5, 2026

5.0

Overall extremely positive. I strongly recommend the product to anyone who wants to get started with a podcast quickly.

Pros

I love the Magic Episodes. I'm not a professional podcaster and have never worked in media, but I was able to get started extremely quickly and I'm now closing in on episode 5. Being able to use AI to automagically edit my episodes was fantastic, as I'm not experienced in audio. The virtual studio also makes a natural space for interviewing my guests, and the transcriptions makes editing very easy. It's truly a ton of value for the money I spend on my Pro subscription.

Cons

The platform itself is a bit slow and buggy. I've noticed several issues with Hooks and Show Notes for example. It's still useful, but it can occasionally require some patience where the AI systems have left sharp edges.

Hi Hunter, thank you for the 9/10! We're thrilled that Magic Episodes helped you jump from 0 to 5 episodes so quickly. We appreciate your patience as we refine our AI tools - feedback on 'sharp edges' like Hooks and Show Notes is exactly what helps our team improve. Happy podcasting!

### "The day I found Riverside was a day to remember"

April 20, 2026

5.0

Transformational.....it gives the time i need to do the work I need to do which is focusing on content and not removing ums from a waveform.

Pros

I like most everything but the removal of mundane editing and fast pass to a pro content with tools in one place that seem to work most all the time. The AI audio for leveling and eq are very solid, given that most of my work is interviewing non professional via computer..they may have a heil 40 pro and PL320 EV or they may have an amazon mike or nothing at all. The ai audio give me a level field of participants and the ability to export audio only for the audio platforms. Editing is a breeze.

Cons

I'm dependent on net traffic flow, ocassional crashes, remote user not have enough resources to run the software.....I'm not sure there is much you can do about that and folks like me just have to find work arounds. I've found advance planning with guests works well and I developed a youtube tutorial for guest on how to log on to Riverside into my studio.

### "Very happy with Riverside - thanks y'all"

March 11, 2026

5.0

Been very happy with the product and very happy to keep subscribing to the platform. Love that all shows are able to be stored and redownloaded too.

Pros

The ability in post production to convert the videos into 1:1, 9:16, or 9:16. This is HUGE for our podcast producer and editing team. Also love the "mark clip" button to be able to go back to that spot and edit.

Cons

Sometimes the video quality is not the best when recording. The talking time before I hit record is perfect, but then I hit record and there is a delay. This does not happen all the time - it is annoying when it does happen.

Dr. Justin, so glad the aspect ratio conversion in post has been valuable for your production workflow! We're working on the recording quality consistency and the time limit constraints - your feedback helps prioritize these. – The Riverside Team

### "Easy enough for a newby to use"

April 16, 2026

4.0

Overall I am very happy with Riverside. I feel confident recording that I will be a good experience for me and my guests.

Pros

As someone starting out I was concerned that editing would be complex to learn. Riverside made it very manageable. I love that it automatically creates snips I can use for social media to advertise a podcast episode.

Cons

Sometimes there has been delay issues for uploading. Sometimes the audio is truncated or muted for no known reason. Twice we had to record on an alternate platform since it would not give a good connection but that was probably an internet issue.

Pros

The time saved because we began using Riverside can not be understated. Editing in the native platform is simple and intuitive. If you want to use another software exporting high quality video and audio is truly a breeze. When you consider the cost being what it is, it provides an amazing value! It has helped free us up to do more to be help our podcast grow.

Cons

Riverside occasionally has some issues with their AI handling of pauses, silence and filler words. This resulted at times in "clipping."

### "A Platform I Trust for My Podcast"

March 14, 2026

5.0

Riverside is the only platform I’ve used since launching my podcast last summer, and I have no plans to switch. My experience has been very positive overall. I like the platform and find it reliable and easy to use for recording interviews.

Pros

I like the versatility of the platform and the high quality of the recordings. It makes remote interviews easy to manage while still producing professional audio and video.

Cons

There isn’t much I don’t like about Riverside. The main issue I’ve experienced is that support can sometimes take a long time, both waiting for responses by email and on the chat. At times the wait has been quite long. I’ve also noticed the platform seems to be pushing more toward video features. I hope Riverside continues to support users who are primarily focused on simple, high-quality audio recording as well.

### "Super happy with Riverside for Podcasting"

May 13, 2026

5.0

The customer service is excellent. The magic audio AI editing tool is out of this world. I think it's a tremendous value for money.

Pros

As a novice podcast producer, Riverside has been incredible for me. The editing features are so easy to use. Being able to click on a word or a sentence to edit it, is so simple.

Cons

I don't love the dub over feature when I want to correct a word. The volume gets messed up. If there was a way to adjust that specific word or inserted audio, that would be awesome. I would also like to be able to adjust when and how people appear (i.e. if you want to bring a guest in halfway through).
