But for the times it doesn't it can be tough to get the help needed to address your concerns. Best not to rely on support for more than shared links for you to figure it out on your own. Pros It's great when it works because it can cut down on a lot of edit time. What could take me hours to pull together clips it can be created in minutes. Cons The support team responses are awful when you run into an issue. There's a default it's not us it's you type response which can be gaslighting when you know it's not user error. " March 3, 2026 5.0 It's allowed me to expand my podcast by bringing on guests I could not otherwise interview in the quality I expect for my product. I feel it is priced very appropriately and affordable for a smaller podcast like mine. Also, my editor likes working with the files produced and it gives her the ability to manipulate the audio as needed. Pros Riverside is very easy to use, and the quality of the end product is excellent. I've used another product in the past, and Riverside is definitely a step up over that. I use it to remotely interview people for my podcast in both the US and abroad, and it always works seamlessly. Cons A few times I have had a question, and I sometimes feel that the help section doesn't address my question. However the online support is great. You do need some creative work arounds for things like multiple hosts in the same space, but once you do, it's super easy. Pros I' enjoyed how easy it is to make clips that are ready or near ready for my social media distribution. The automatic transcription is incredibly helpful as well. Cons You must have a strong internet connection since most of this is in the cloud. The connection and processing can, at times, take longer than I sometimes have the patience for. I have learned to work around the issues. And like I said it has improved within the past year. Editing has become smoother. Adding songs has become easier and I like that they have added ways to lower the sound and fade in and out of songs. Pros It's easy to record and edit videos within Riverside. Also it does create Magic Clips for us that I edit to become teasers. Cons Riverside has improved since I started using it a year ago but it still lacks the ability to put fancy transitions between scenes. One of the reasons why I edit our podcast episodes in another app and then transfer it back to Riverside. Sometimes when I correct something it doesn't stick so I have correct it again. It can be glitchy. Sometimes there's a lot of buffering I wish there was a way to edit words I mispronounce easier. Review Source SP Sean P. Customer service has generally been solid. Pros Ease and quality of recording for podcast guests and me. Cons At times, it won't allow me to manually change captions the way I need to. This has caused me to spend extra time looking for solutions, or need to just accept the captions as they appear. I was told by a friend who was into podcasting for years about it and made the switch from streamyard. Pros It's very easy for podcast editing and creating shorts and clips for social media. I love that I can look through the transcript and begin my edits there rather than dragging a bar through and finding the exact moment I want to cut in. Cons I'd like if I could make a studio in advance and be able to email that to my guest when we schedule, sometimes that is a month before the interview. PErhaps this is possible and I haven't seen the easy way to spot it. If you're shopping around for an alternative, I'll save you the time.. there isn't one. Super easy to use, the audio editing and video creation tools are spot on and the price is definitely worth it.
