Cons It does not have terminal updates like shipment availability. If there is a line hold or a freight hold, Ships Go will not show that. It gives us a convenient way to view the vessel, port and ETA information associated with a container and provides a reasonable high-level overview of the shipment route. However, for day-to-day forwarding and operational management, the available data is not yet detailed enough. Date-only timestamps make it difficult to determine the exact sequence and timing of events. The lack of vessel coordinates in the API response limits real-time situational awareness, while the completed-leg information is not particularly useful for direct sailings. We also need operational milestones such as Customs, MPI and Line Release, VBS, Last Free Time and gate-in, as well as a complete change log for shipment updates. Overall, ShipsGo is a solid and easy-to-use tracking foundation, but adding more precise timestamps, vessel-position data, port and terminal events, and shipment-level change history would make it significantly more valuable for professional logistics operations. Pros ShipsGo provides a convenient high-level view of container shipments, including vessel, port and ETA information. It is useful for quickly checking the general status of a shipment, and the tracking concept is straightforward and easy to understand. The basic tracking data is also a useful foundation for integrating ocean-shipment visibility into our internal workflow. Cons The time granularity is not precise enough for operational use. Many events are provided only at the date level, without an exact HH timestamp and a clearly defined timezone. When a tracking update is returned, the API does not provide the vessel's actual coordinates at that time. This makes it difficult to verify the vessel's position and movement when an update is received. The completed-leg information is also of limited value for direct sailings, because it does not provide much additional operational insight. It would be much more useful if ShipsGo could provide port and terminal milestones such as Customs, MPI and Line Release status, VBS information, Last Free Time, and gate-in events. An API endpoint for retrieving the change history of a container's transport information within a shipment would also be very valuable for auditing, troubleshooting and understanding when and how tracking information changed.
