My overall experience with Truss was very positive. The platform is intuitive and easy to navigate, making the search for commercial spaces much simpler. I appreciated the transparency in pricing and the ability to compare multiple options side by side. The support team was also responsive and knowledgeable, helping me find a space that met my needs. While there’s room to expand the property selection in certain areas, the process was efficient, and I would definitely recommend Truss to others.

Pros

What I liked most about Truss is its innovative approach to simplifying the leasing process. The platform provides transparency by offering clear data and options, making it easy to compare office spaces and make informed decisions. Truss' user-friendly interface and expert support save time and reduce stress, which is incredibly valuable for businesses looking for the perfect space. The efficiency and clarity it brings to the commercial real estate market really set it apart.

Cons

While Truss offers a great platform, I felt that the selection of available properties could be broader in certain markets. Expanding the inventory of listings in more diverse locations would make it even more valuable. Additionally, while the platform is user-friendly, more detailed filters or customization options during the search could enhance the overall experience.

(I am in no way personally invested in the outcome of or am being compensated for this review - this review is purely based on my own thoughts and experience after roughly one year of using this product) As the operations manager of a small to mid-sized CPA firm, Truss has genuinely revolutionized our workflow process. After numerous complaints from our clients about our prior \[major tax prep company's\] client portal, I've been looking for a client portal solution that checks all of the boxes of: 1. being super user-friendly for our less tech-savvy clients, 2. having an automatically generated checklist of tasks that is customized to each client's tax document needs, 3. offers a way to share, store, and receive documents easily and in one place, 4. looks modern, clean, and not cluttered 5. is obviously secure enough for the highly sensitive information that a CPA firm handles, and 6. is highly customizable, and Truss has checked all of those boxes and \*MUCH\* more. Since changing from our previous tax prep client portal to the Truss client portal, we've had literally nothing but positive reviews from our clients. Clients have said it's made their experience of gathering tax documents MUCH easier, they know what's still outstanding, the signing process has been so much smoother (and faster), and the automatically generated emails mean we aren't spending as much time following up with clients personally, especially once it gets closer to the deadlines. The Truss team is wonderfully helpful, prompt with their responses and is very receptive to our feedback and suggestions for how Truss might be able to refine the product in order to continue to solve our pain points. Within this year, Truss has increased the features in a way that is especially helpful for our firm (addition of email templates, signable engagement letter template, document review processes, tax return processing assistance, addition of forms and worksheets, IRS payment tasks, etc), without increasing the visual clutter or changing the user interface on the client side, which I'm always anxious about for our clients' sake. Since Truss is a relatively new company, I want to make sure the client experience stays as consistent as possible, as change management can be difficult, and even with all of the feature updates and upgrades, the client experience has stayed consistent since we signed on about a year ago. I've also been incredibly happy with how customizable the Tasks are for each client's needs - we can ask specific or bulk questions, communicate directly with clients via comments within their own project, or send out mass emails for more general communications, create projects that are one-off or for odd jobs, etc. The ability to customize the product to be exactly what we need has been especially wonderful! We highly highly suggest Truss to any CPA, accounting, or bookkeeping firm that is looking for a client portal solution that is both super user-friendly, as well as highly customizable for their firm or business! \- User friendly for clients - Automatically generated checklist of tasks, unique to each client, based on tax organizer - Sharing, storing & receiving client documents - Modern, clean and not-cluttered interface - Highly customizable projects for various project types and clients - Automated email reminders - Clients have found the tasks to be super intuitive and helpful - Secure and fast Form 8879 signing - Amazing and fast customer support - Truss's openness and implementation of our suggestions and feedback for making the product more useful for our firm's pain points - Continually evolving platform that continues to improve pain points - Email templates - Signable engagement letter(s) - Can add bulk tasks to multiple projects all at once or individually to different projects - Customizable forms and worksheets for gathering information - Comment-communications with clients (that download directly into their compiled client documents) - Ability to download all PDFs into individual files OR one combined client tax documents PDF(!) - Client-uploaded documents (images, etc) will turn into PDFs for consistent file storage - SO MUCH MORE that I can't think of at this moment

Cons

\- Some anxieties about it being a newer company (we want to make sure it will be around for a long time to come!) - Occasional bugs or temporary workarounds (nothing that's been emergency-inducing), due to it being a continuously changing platform Honestly, it's difficult to think of cons, just because anything that could currently be considered negative is so quickly changed (i.e. email subject lines are now more easily customizable; some smaller interface frustrations, etc have all been resolved quickly). The thing I'm honestly the most concerned about is just making sure that the company has the funding to ensure that it sticks around for many years!

\*CCH Axcess Portal. Clients complained about how difficult it was to use the CCH Portal, we found that some documents were missed if clients uploaded documents after final documents were downloaded (the team was not notified of new document uploads), we were promised a specific amount of integration between the Portal and the Tax Software and they under delivered.

Reasons for choosing Truss

There were others, as well as piecemealing together a portal. Truss just checked all of the boxes. Some solutions would have been too complicated for our clients to implement, some solutions had almost everything except a way to customize a checklist, some solutions were simply not visually appealing. Truss checked off all of our must-have and wishlist items and did everything better than the other solutions we considered.
