### "Great Product, Great Price!"

February 17, 2025

5.0

Pico MES has been a great addition to the quality of our units.

Pros

Pico has been a great tool so far. The main benefits I've found are, digital access on shop floor via tablets, accurate time tracking for builds, serial number input for tracking progress across long-term projects, consistent formatting and simplicity in instructions, and PDF export with a full BOM list that is used to triple check our system, and Solidworks. It's been a great add on to the way we operate, and it's free!

Cons

So far I haven't found anything I don't like. It would be nice if the annotations would show up on the PDF output.

Pico is so much more easier to use, keeps every work instruction I do look look very similar, so the assemblers are having to relearn instructions.

### "Blink Charging Co"

November 19, 2024

5.0

The learning curve was rather rapid. We setup up several products quickly and had ease to edit 'on-the-fly' and immediately release the updates. We reduced redundant data capturing from our previous process methods and software tools.

Pros

Overall single cost to deploy across multiple sites with dozens of users, and ease of setup and deploying.

Cons

Was not linkable to NetSuite out of the box. An additional cost and setup are involved. Our D suite wasn't ready to fund the addition.

### "Pico MES Review"

December 6, 2024

4.0

My trial of Pico MES has overall been very informative and encouraging to see the abilities that Pico can provide for our company. Each station was generally not difficult to set up, and once the stations were set up, I did not have to do much to maintain them.

Pros

I liked the tool library that is built with the help of all companies using Pico MES. I also liked the quick response time from the support team, able to attend calls and formal meetings that align with our schedule.

Cons

I did not enjoy the process of setting up firewall access and figuring out which ports to provide access to. I also did not enjoy the inability to download data from all variants, as I would need to download the excel file from each variant and tediously compile them into one excel file.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Pico MES

Currently used at other plant, so there was interest in trialing Pico MES at our plant as well.

### "Low code - easy setup"

February 2, 2026

4.0

Low code makes it easy for training for colleagues. I haven´t tried it but I expect that a delay will be experienced with Cloud module

Pros

Very easy to setup, especially for single worktables. Easy to create a workflow for several operations

Cons

Missing a order planning module, so a detailed scheduling could be done inside PicoMES after import of orders

### "World Class Product"

December 6, 2023

4.0

I am more than pleased with PICO MES. The team has impressed me with their responsiveness/support and commitment to tailoring the product to better meet customer needs. They few problems we've had with PICO have all been either addressed or fixed.

Pros

I love the user interface. I also love how easy it is to connect 3rd party smart tools. The change control feature makes it easy for me to oversee and track changes across the team.

Cons

The rollout time for some of the customizations/new features they committed to were much longer than expected. While they still followed through (and the features are great:), the lead time could have been more accurate. The traceability feature could be cleaned up -- you have to dig to find the information you need in lower-level processes that are consumed. The lagging on the operator build screen is also annoying.

Reason for choosing Pico MES

What drew me to PICO was: 1) The PICO Teams willingness to customize the product to meet our needs. They were the only company we talked to that was open to this. 2) PICOs willingness to helping us with the launch. We didn't end up needed the help, but they were willing to be on site to help with the initial setup. Considering we have a small manufacturing team, this was huge. Again, no other company was open to this.

### "Rapid deployment of manufacturing controls with Pico MES"

July 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, Pico MES is an excellent MES. It is extremely compatible with fast-paced prototype and production workflows thanks to its ease of editing and deployment of stations and quality controls.

Pros

Best part of Pico MES are how easy and fast it is to edit instructions and deploy devices and new stations. The web based interface is easy to access and understand. The interface itself is very intuitive allowing for fast changes and also helps in training new editors. In addition, Pico's support team is responsive and has high expertise. Notably, Pico MES has a robust data tracking system that is easily accessible through the web interface making quality control straightforward and simple.

Cons

Pico MES's limitations with major feature changes can sometimes be challenging. Since there is potential for Pico to serve as a all-in-one solution for manufacturing data tracking, it is less convenient than managing an in-house database in terms of feature upgrades. However, it is still beneficial to receive feature updates that other Pico customers have encouraged implementing.

### "Pico- Outstanding Company with Excellent Support"

September 29, 2025

5.0

Pico is a great company with customer support in mind. \[sensitive content hidden\] is an outstanding person to work with. He has been there since the beginning of implementation at our facility. Him and his team has done an outstanding job in supporting our facility.

Pros

The Pico Team is excellent. The capabilities that Pico has for integration into many different systems are excellent. If it hasn't already been done, just ask. The Pico team does an outstanding job in supporting new developments at our facility.

Cons

Data analysis. We really haven't touched on data analysis. Our current set up does not provide much analysis. This is not a negative exactly for Pico. We really haven't asked to go further into data analysis. More to come....

### "Good for Companies Looking to Scale"

November 25, 2025

4.0

The overall experience with Pico was good. I was impressed by how well all of the integrated tools worked together with the work instructions once it was set up. Getting it set up was a bit of a beast because small issues in each tool stacked up initially and caused some road blocks. The data tracking and data management are great for small companies that want to keep a build record. The tier we were on permits help from support in approximately 24-72 hours, which I only had an issue with one time. The rest of the time responses from support were prompt and insightful.

Pros

The Pico work instruction system is very easy and intuitive. We use google slides for work instructions so switching formats was really easy. The tool integration was really handy and very impressive. I have been telling people in my company that it felt like Pico had almost gamified the build process because of how much fun it was to use. I also was impressed by the data tracking that it allows.

Cons

I do not like how restrictive parts of Pico can be. It was difficult to get payment set up because I had to get emailed a custom link to go to a cart that I couldn't really change very much. It is also a bit more restrictive than google slides, which took some getting use to, but ultimately not a deal breaker.

### "MES learning at UW-Stout"

September 28, 2025

5.0

After viewing the webinar on creating a good work instruction, I had my class create the work instructions to run a system I have in the Controls & Instrumentation Lab at UW-Stout. I ran the machine and showed all the steps. It was up to the students to write work instructions to run the entire machine. The fun part was to have a group of freshmen come in to run the machine without any prompting from the writers. Some went very well... others needed some help. Great experience and we will be entering the instructions for future activities with prospective students.

Pros

The ease of setting up electronic work instructions. Provided training and webinars to show my students what a 'Good Work Instruction' looks like.

Cons

Working with my IT department to get the system setup for use in the classes. Being a University, system does have restrictions and evaluations of stored data we need to go through.

### "PICO free account new user"

February 24, 2025

5.0

We decided to use PICO as a digital work instructions trial for a new process in our plant. PICO has been a great resource to train operators as well as to consult key information regarding the new products. The ease of creating work instructions has been a game changer for us so much so that we are already considering acquiring a more upgraded account to deploy PICO plant-wise.

Pros

PICO allows me to complete work instructions and training in less time than traditional ways.

Cons

Need a different code every time I want to access it.

### "Pico is helping our workforce with simplified access to visual work instructions for repeatability and consistency."

June 14, 2024

5.0

Pico software has performed great in all areas we have implemented. All operators that have used and interacted with Pico love it. As far as the company, Pico has great customer support. Every interaction with the Pico team has been exceptional, they really do care about smaller manufacturers and have catered to our needs. We could not continue with our planned growth as a company without getting our processes documented. Work instructions have always been tedious to make, long-winded, and difficult to find (was it printed? is it in SharePoint? on the network?). To be honest no one used them anyway. Pico allows us to document the most important processes to our company, how the products we sell go together.

Pros

Pico has an easy to use interface and is web based, so anyone in the organization can access work instructions. The levels or products, tasks, and subtasks helps us organize these instructions so it's easy to assign to work stations. Operators don't have to search for instructions for this or that, they are all in one place. The viewer is intuitive, making instructions easy to follow.

Cons

I do not have any cons on functionality of Pico. Cons would just be features I would want. For the operator, there is no search function to find instructions on a page. If a station has a lot of things that could be built there, and we aren't using work orders to drive, then it becomes difficult to find one instruction among 99 others. Tools for building work instructions could have more graphical options: Instructions can link to files that pop up, but highlighting an area would be cool A color pick wheel when making shapes in instructions

Reason for choosing Pico MES

We scheduled a demo being interested in the data collection and traceability Pico offered. When we actually got the demo, however, it was the work instructions that really hit home. Being able to put everything in one place for operators and designers alike was huge. We saw Pico as a great long term tool; we can use it for work instructions and manufacturing processes now, and we can grow into the data collection.

### "Pico MES Review - Heavy Duty Truck Manufacturer"

March 11, 2024

5.0

Overall, my experience with Pico MES has been outstanding. The team is very knowledgeable and responsive. We have asked Pico to expand their product offering to accommodate our needs and, so far, we have not had a request that Pico MES could not find a solution for.

Pros

Pico MES was very simple and fast to implement in the factory. The edge devices that are offered are a very cost-effective solution to providing our own and make expansion as simple as installing a network port and power outlet.

Cons

The least attractive aspect of Pico MES is the annual subscription cost. When trying to sell Pico MES to the company leadership team, that was the biggest sticking point. A one-time cost at install is a more attractive purchasing agreement.

### "Dramatic Production Floor Improvement"

December 19, 2023

5.0

Very versatile tool that has many applications that our company is still learning all the ways we can use it. Can't say enough good things about Pico as a company and the great crew they have put together around this software. They are a pleasure to work with.

Pros

Tech support and the development team are great to work with. We very much appreciate the simplicity of the integration and look forward to added value as the team further develops the software. It has been a game changer on our production floor. It is our go-to whenever we have an involved application that needs error proofing and a high level of quality assurance.

Cons

There is a learning curve to the "software" that takes some time to overcome, but there is really no way to get around that with any product.

Reason for choosing Pico MES

The free trial period to test if we could solve our top priority issue at the time, and the low cost and flexibility of application were major factors in our decision making.

### "Flexibility and Support"

January 19, 2024

5.0

I can not imagine another MES that is as flexible to meet our needs. I have enjoyed working with Pico MES and the Pico team.

Pros

We use Pico MES in an R&D setting, which is the opposite of manufacturing and standardized process. The flexibility of Pico MES is probably unmatched to make quick, real-time changes and structure products/processes in a way that allows for changing variables. With our use case being non-typical, I have been incredibly pleased with the support. The Pico team has been happy to try to understand our needs and work on solutions with us.

Cons

Without an ERP, production scheduling and correct work order routing is a manual process. Pico is constantly bringing new features online which is great, however we are not immediately able to take advantage of them without some backend work from our IT/Systems team to maintain correct routing.

### "PICO MES in Assembly Manufacturing"

December 19, 2023

4.0

My overall experience has been good with PICO MES. It has helped our assembly department by providing visual instruction & details for builders while also tracking lots of data on builds for our engineers.

Pros

PICO MES allows our assembly operators to have the needed pictures & details to consistently build good product. Each detailed "work instruction" allows our builders to assemble product that they might have never built before with no additional help. We also use PICO MES to make quality/revision alerts, give instructions for sophisticated tooling, add shipping instructions, and provide any other details they might need to build the assembly. PICO has saved our assembly department lots of money in remakes and reworks. The PICO Techs are very helpful when trying to solve issues or do trial runs on new updates.

Cons

PICO MES is used by multiple customers, so it is customizable but to a certain point. The entire system can't be set up to fit a customer's unique needs if it won't help other customers.

### "Good MES, very helpful"

November 30, 2023

5.0

Pros

Once set up, it is very helpful in use of construction of parts and keeping track of quality, especially after allowing the taking of pictures. The steps and tools are also very helpful.

Cons

Its sometimes a little difficult to set up the instructions, and control over who can edit the instructions vs who can commit the changes is not easily available. It basically has to the same person. Its also sometimes a little difficult to get data from the datacenter into a readable format if many of the parts are similar. Additionally, if we want something to count as "failed" if it fails to reach certain quality standards, it only tells you at the time, and I dont know of a way to set it up where it will tell you only at the end, or alert a manager of the failing without alerting the builder.

Pico has been a wonderful addition to our manufacturing processes and has helped to elevate our production. There were some initial struggle points in the beginning but the Pico team has been very responsive and helpful in showing us how to best make use of the system or working toward developing new aspects of the software to meet our needs. We are quite happy choosing Pico and look forward to continuing to working with them.

Pros

Quick and easy to setup and expand Ability to integrate with multiple systems and equipment Fantastic customer service - always get a response within 24 hrs, usually within a few minutes Can utilize low-cost equipment at stations instead of needing a full PC

### "PICO MES"

November 17, 2023

5.0

Overall, I am very happy with PICO. I am not an everyday user, but it has accomplished what we wanted it to do at our plant and we are planning further implementation in the future.

Pros

Pico's main strength was the implementation with our manufacturing software. Work orders for quality critical operations cannot be barcoded by shop employees unless criteria through PICO is met. This effectively solved one of the costliest quality errors at my facility.

Cons

The setup of process in PICO is not overly difficult once you know what each button does. However, it could be improved to make it easier for a new user.
