Pros
The customer support we've received has been fantastic, as the AO team has helped us to build a custom solution to interface with our Salesforce CRM to track status of different opportunities.
AO has come a long way and has a very good support and tech team to answer any questions or resolve any issues we have in a timely manner.
What I like the most is how easy and fast it is to use and we can customize our user profile and setting to have the exports exactly how we want them.
The ease of use and power of the product to prospect for land parcels for my solar developers is exceptional. This coupled with the CS team at AO makes for a great business relationship.
Cons
For particularly large projects with 500+ parcels, AO tends to slow down quite significantly which can make it difficult to navigate within the project or run buildable area analyses.
The only negative that I think someone might have, and this doesn't apply to us, is that you don't have access to every state at once. Maybe that has changed or maybe that's available, but costly.
Sometimes very slow or have to refresh which can be frustrating. Needs more maps integration (power plant retirements, etc).
At first navigating through various functions can be a little confusing but it was a learning curve.

"Powerful tool with excellent customer support!"
Pros: AO has become our primary tool for quickly screening-out parcels that don't meet our criteria for buildable area, etc. The customer support we've received has been fantastic, as the AO team has helped us to build a custom solution to interface with our Salesforce CRM to track status of different opportunities. There are many small details that make the software more intuitive and useable, including opacity sliders and a deep bench of default layers available.
Cons: For particularly large projects with 500+ parcels, AO tends to slow down quite significantly which can make it difficult to navigate within the project or run buildable area analyses.
"Great software. Can run a little slow on occasion but overall, very satisfied"
Overall: Great experience. Always quick to respond.
Pros: It limits how much research I have to do. There is an abundance of layers. If there isn't a layer I am looking for, I can ask for it and it gets added.
Cons: On occasion, the software can run very slow. Not often but it happens. Also, the printable maps could be better, more customizable.
"Cenergy Power AO analysis"
Overall: AO Prospect has made our company's site search and analysis processes much more robust. It is easy to learn so new team members can quickly get up to speed.
Pros: The ability to add new feature layers and customize templates for data work and export is very useful.
Cons: There are some default layers which cannot be turned off or modified, this causes unnecessary clutter. It is not possible to create exported images with a legend.
"Anderson Optimization is vital for the success of my team!"
Overall: I really enjoy the product because nothing in the industry compares to it. It is easy to use, and our team does understand that mapping software are very delicate and difficult to produce. AO has come a long way and has a very good support and tech team to answer any questions or resolve any issues we have in a timely manner. All of the data is very important to us, and we appreciate AO's discretion in our company produced data imported into our own layers.
Pros: The functionality and interface of AO is very easy to use. I have trained a couple of new employees on how to use AO to generate parcel lists efficiently and the ease of the product makes my job easier. Exporting the data that pertains to the parcel list is extremely vital, and AO's export functionality is seamless and easy to use.
Cons: Exporting parcel images functionality has not worked for quite some time and has not been able to be replicated on AO's end even though it is happening on multiple computers and accounts on our end. Also, exported parcel images come in individual zip files which is time consuming when I am working on a parcel list of 200 or more because I have to create a new folder, unzip the export and drage the images into the new folder. The colors of some layers seem to be the same shade if not the same color which can be time consuming to verify.
"The best Site Finding tool out there"
Overall: We have been sooo happy with how AO has taken every suggestion or request that we made and made those things happen, quickly. We were also a small family company when we started working together years ago and their culture is the same as ours.
Pros: All features contribute to the end product and are useful, but the accuracy of all of the information and the constant updates to ensure accuracy is most impactful for us. What I like the most is how easy and fast it is to use and we can customize our user profile and setting to have the exports exactly how we want them.
Cons: The only negative that I think someone might have, and this doesn't apply to us, is that you don't have access to every state at once. Maybe that has changed or maybe that's available, but costly? Other than that, no negatives for us!
"Great initial constraints and project development software"
Overall: AO has been great at reviewing prospective parcels and determining if you have a potential project.
Pros: The ability to do initial constraints and project development
Cons: The 10 meter topography vs 1 meter on Lidar
"Anderson is the BEST!"
Overall: I love Anderson and use it everyday. I would make it our primary GIS resource if the decision were mine alone to make.
Pros: I love the quick ease of use in quickly being able to build, load, and analyze maps for my work in prospecting .
Cons: I wish there was a function to pull in all of one landowner's parcels and add them to my map.
"Great product, needs more functionality"
Overall: Great
Pros: Overall great UI, automates lots of basic GIS needs
Cons: Sometimes very slow or have to refresh which can be frustrating. Needs more maps integration (power plant retirements, etc). I have given lots of feedback to the team via email
"Solar GIS"
Overall: Fantastic.
Pros: The ease of use and power of the product to prospect for land parcels for my solar developers is exceptional. This coupled with the CS team at AO makes for a great business relationship.
Cons: This is probably on us on needing a more powerful computer but running the system on my laptop can cause it to crash when running other applications at the same time.
"AO Review"
Pros: Great wat to prospect with an app that has everything centralized.
Cons: At first navigating through various functions can be a little confusing but it was a learning curve.
