I tried many other data sources but none of them had the comprehensive and complete datasets that ImportYeti has nor any of them kept constantly up-to-date with recent transactions. I couldn't have done my research without the support of ImportYeti and would recommend it to anyone in academia, industry, or government interested in learning about how our supply chains operate - from supply chain resiliency to risk diversification to predictive forecasting of supply chain bottlenecks, you can use ImportYeti to make those strategy and critical decisions for your organization. Pros There are so many things to like about ImportYeti including but not limited to: - The data is constantly updated (every two weeks or so, I think) - The user interface is generally easy to use and navigate - The power query feature makes it easy to find exactly the data that you are looking for - They have an API to systematically query the data (although I have not used it yet) Cons A few minor issues with the platform (which the ImportYeti team is quick to respond to any requests for help): - Downloading data is clunky (my version restricted downloads to 25,000 rows at a time) - Power query can be buggy at times requiring multiple tries to get the exact right query I'm looking for (could just be user error on my end!) Honestly, it’s made a huge difference. With Premium, I can see way more shipment data and get a much clearer picture of who’s working with who. I use it to check out new suppliers, monitor existing ones, and keep an eye on what’s going on in my niche. I also loved being able to save searches and export data. It saves me a ton of time and helps me stay organized without having to mess around with a million spreadsheets. If you're doing any kind of serious importing or exporting, Premium is 100% worth it. Pros Access to deeper shipment data – More detailed and accurate supplier insights than the free version. Bulk search and data export – Speeds up research and makes data easy to organize or share. Cons Takes a bit to learn all the features – Not hard, but there’s a small learning curve if you want to use everything fully. Researching a supplier seems easier now but also I really like that you can search for supplier, random company or company. Also the relationships feature is gold when assessing feasibility of a certain supply chain. Pros Game changing platform - one of the first to provide open access to Bills of Lading. This software has been developed with research in mind, especially now that there is in depth reporting on shipments and suppliers. Although there are other options, ImportYeti is my go-to. Easy to provide feedback and see enhancements quickly rolled out.
