With working remotely it is nice to be able to go on vacation and my colleagues having access to the files needed without me needing to go on my computer to send them off. Pros It’s easy to implement and easy to onboard new team members.navigating the website is simple and downloading the extension to the desktop makes it even easier to use. Cons Does not update real time. Files must be saved in order to upload back to share file. I wonder how this will affect collaboration- feature I have yet to use. Pros The program is relatively easy to use and functional. I do appreciate the watermarking feature, and the ability to easily set different access levels for different users. Cons The toolbar at the top of the program is blank/can't be seen. When I want to choose logout for example, I have to run my cursor around the top of the program until I think I've found it. You may also request files from other users. You can also send files securely to have e-signatures added to them. ShareFile makes it easy to collaborate with other employees too. Instructions are clear and concise. Before, we had to wait for a client to download to a flash drive and mail it to our office. This meant 2-3 critical wasted days and we have to review the records by the 18th of every month. Pros Emailing large files is sometimes impossible, so this makes it easy. I like the search function when looking for a particular file. Cons Wish there was a file count function within in the folders. I have has clients relay uploading issues when for high volumes of files. Review Source Krista L. We send tons of huge files. Since we started using ShareFile we have not had email shutdowns or problems with large files using up all the resources. Pros Emailing out very large attachments like huge PDFs, pictures, or videos without botching up the email server for everyone else. It is very helpful in accomplishing tasks in my profession. I never have issues with it on the user side of things. I've only had one attorney request that I send actual attachments in stead of the secure download link. I think it's because he's not very tech-savvy! Pros Part of my job is to email confidential files for lawsuits to our attorneys so this software works great. It provides a secure download link where the receiver has to enter their credentials in order to download the files. It is also helpful when sending files too large for our email system to send. Cons Occasionally, receivers have trouble downloading the files. It's hard to tell if it's user error or program error though. Review Source JR Justin R. Cons If not set up correctly, the software can get annoying when it tells you every time a client has opened a document. Easy to administer in a corporate environment. Unlimited storage and the cost is the lowest in the industry compared to other file hare tools Cons There is a limit of how big of files you can send via the plugin if I remember it's around 500 GB. I love that I can download updated versions and get notified if a document has been modified. We have also used it to help share documents with a consultant who helped us redo our quality program for an upcoming audit. Sharing documents between the both of us was a quick and easy way to collaborate. Pros ShareFile provides an easy way of sending large files and there is no headache involved, but this does not mean that the service is not secure. ShareFile provides bank-level data encryption for your data while in transit and after it rests in its cloud-based location. Cons A standard subscription fee of US$50 per month can be considered a bit high by small businesses, especially since this plan comes with 5 included users. A 3-user plan for US$30 could be an interesting deal for smaller teams, not to mention a free plan for freelancers with a single user and limited storage. Review Source Michael C. There really is not much to using the product, it just works! Cons My issues with Sharefile may be partly due to poor internet connection but files took forever to upload. Trying to upload multiple large files was a fail. I did not like that Sharefile is only for sharing files. I prefer software that has more functions so it eliminates needing other software. Review Source Julie G. But I also don't have trouble with it. It does what it is supposed to do, without many bells and whistles. I'm still getting used to it, but imagine I'll be a pro in no time. Pros This application gives me a lot of control over who has access to files both within our organization and externally. We had some other services before that didn't work as well and took longer to upload/download media. One I figured out the navigation, I haven't had any trouble sending and receiving files. Cons When DropBox is the competition, it's hard to love ShareFile. I know that there are downsides to DropBox for a big organization, but the functionality isn't as good. Finance Manager Wholesale Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Sharefile is a good alternative for Dropbox" June 12, 2020 4.0 With Sharefile we did not have to send our documents emails or Whatsapp. We now have a tool to share data on one place and the users can approach by them selves. Pros Sharefile is a nice software to use. We do not use it anymore nowadays because we have accepted Dropbox Business. But with Sharefile we have the opportunity share data between our colleaugues. Cons Nothing at all. If you have asked me, we still would you Sharefile but the management decided to choose for Dropbux Business after we used Sharefiles for a few years. Review Source AB Allan B. Pros The intent of the platform is great - to be able to share documents between parties inside and outside of your group, and to allow for easier document upload. Cons It is very difficult to get this platform to work across multiple users, to get the desktop version to work correctly, and customer support is seriously lacking.
