Owner Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great file storage and management that has grown along with our organization" April 15, 2018 4.0 Since jumping on board with ShareFile in 2012, the platform has grown along with our organization and has allowed us to reliably request, store and manage client advertising materials for our publication. It has also helped automate our internal and external communication processes regarding advertising material. Pros One of our most-used features of ShareFile is setting up our clients with individual folders to allow them to upload and store their advertising creative. This is similar to FTP, but ShareFile allows us to receive notifications based on upload, download, etc on a per-folder and per-user basis. We also set it up to notify the client when their ad is downloaded by a member of our team, thereby completely automating the ad delivery process for our publication. The other great feature of ShareFile that we use is desktop app synchronization. This allows ads to be curated by our ad manager and delivered to our production team automatically. Cons The web interface can be a bit hit or miss at times, and performance can also vary. The desktop sync apps also are a bit sluggish and would benefit from an improvement in responsiveness. The security that are provided like the encryption really make me feel secure with this software. Cons The setup process is quite tedious as it involving technical knowledge and need to be setup by our IT personal. Pros One of the things that I like is that the program gives you pass codes when you send a document. This gives you peace of mind about the privacy of your documents and work. The help and support that you get from the company in order to use the program correctly was excellent, well explained. They encourage you to call with any doubts setting up meeting to make it effortless for you. It's not great and it's so much more expensive than better options out there! Pros It was recommended highly as the industry standard and it does seem secure. Cons The expense and the fact that we constantly had trouble finding our files. I guess that ultimately that's on us, but our new software is so much more user friendly. Our staff and our clients LOVE that we are no longer with ShareFile. Reason for choosing Progress ShareFile We didn't. We've left ShareFile for Liscio. You can access the files anywhere via the internet. We upload a lot of large file sizes and have never had an issue where the file was not able to be uploaded or downloaded. The administrative permissions are easy to edit as well, making it possible to customize what other people have access to view when you share folders/files. ShareFile gives you multiple tools to access your data including a desktop app, sync tool, drive mapper (to emulate a drive that links to your data) and an Outlook add-in that allows you to send and request files. The add-in even lets you set the attachment size so that anything larger will be turned into a storage location within ShareFile so you don't clog peoples' mail boxes with a lot of large attachments. Cons Support is not always that fast. If you have a lot of information to transfer you need to be patient as the upload tool for the initial file transfer can take some time. Pros I like that all the employees of the office are connected and can share documents. I also like that we have the option to have private folders for personal information or private clients etc. I also like the fact that they offer an outlook plugin to securely send emails. We deal with sensitive client information and it is nice to know we can send the draft s of their documents to review prior to our meeting and not worry about a data breach. Cons I do not think there is anything negative to say at this time. Even when you delete something by accident on the desktop app, you can sign into the cloud and retrieve it! Pros The platform provides very dynamic ways to share files such as email with Sharefile, get a link,e signature, etc. even it has the option to encrypt the messages which is pretty good to keep safe the company's information. if we don't have time and we want to share files, Citrix Sharefiles provides the option to generate a link with all files we have included. I also like the idea that we can install a plugin on Outlook to use Citrix Sharefiles. Cons The platform has great features but honestly, I consider the price is above the average compared with other companies. They seem to be the most prominent secure file sharing service, and I'm not sure if their competitors are able to offer the same quality of service at a comparable price. For the time being, I would say Sharefile is a safe bet. Pros The services provided by Sharefile that I like the most are: A) The "send a link" option for emailing confidential documents to clients. This allows me to quickly upload the documents, copy a link, and paste it into an email, without cluttering the email with a large graphic or anything of that nature. B) The ease in which you can set up notification email forwarding. I like to keep track of what other users are receiving from clients, and Sharefile makes it easy to set up a system where I get email notifications regardless of the user in our firm who is receiving documents. Cons I dislike the outlook extension for Sharefile. When inserting files to share into an email using the outlook extension (not the "send a link" option), a large box autogenerates in the body of the email that disrupts the format of the email. I also dislike the fact you have to have purchase a certain "tier" of membership in order to upload folders to clients through Sharefile. Without being able to organize files into folders, the burden of organization falls upon the client. Review Source Sean W. Professional Services Lead Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "ShareConnect + Sharefile = Powerful" October 10, 2015 4.0 Sharefile and now Shareconnect have been part of my toolkit for organisational transformation for 8 years. I've deployed 6 separate instances for widely varying use cases and each has worked well. I would rank Sharefile as important to my deliverables as GoogleWork ( Docs + everything else google does). I work in the more traditional end of the market and find that while Cloud and Hybrid cloud solutions are entering enterprise use now in 2015 most end users need the immediate deployment and quick time to value that Sharefile and Shareconnect offer. Post Sales Support from the Raleigh team does a great job of looking after remote time zones and only the occasional start-up phase hitch appears. Pros Prodcut and services are Top Grade 1. Great Scale 2. Easy Deployment 3. Good Support Cons A. Complex multi tier Reseller / referral / distributor model handed down from Citrix management ( really, it does suck ) B. Global Storage Zones generate the occasional " ticket - storm" when a problem arises its hard to keep informed on "just" your exposure, a trade off for the transparency. C. Self provisioning is a little too prescriptive. If you self provision the wrong plan then watch out its not an "easy undo". Getting Level 2 help can take longer than you'd imagine. April 1, 2019 4.0 Overall, it's a very good/solid product, with usefull features and good UX/UI. Sadly, the persistent bugs and the slowness of the upload for multiple low volume files make Sharefile impossible to use as repository : it is a good tool to share 1/2 files with clients via emails, nothing more. Pros Ease of use, basic functionnalities do work properly, connectivity with Outlook (via Sharefile plug-in) Cons The recurent bugs / issues that see no corrections (for years). The first ones that come in mind : - every 4-6 months, you have to reinstall Sharefile desktop because the app is not the same anymore. Same for the Sharefile plugin for Outlook. - ~90% of the time, you have to launch Sharefile desktop twice to start it. It happens on all computers I've tested Sharefile desktop on (rouhgly 20 computers with different setups) - With 'double validation' connexions, you'll receive as many as 3 SMS, most of the time I receive 2 of them (only one containing the right validation code). We use sharefile to keep track and organize what comes in. Since we can create as many folders as needed, we have a “done” folder within each one and once we’ve completed the work we move it to “done”. That way everyone with access can see that we’ve done the work and the history in that folder. It makes a huge difference to our workflow. We no longer need to organize paper or have to scan documents to keep an electronic copy. Pros I love how the user access is so detailed. Our Providers can upload their information into their own folders and that they can’t see all of our other providers folders. And they aren’t able to delete anything or move it if I don’t want them to. I like that we always have a record of what got uploaded and when so everyone can see it. Cons The site is pretty slow at times, but it could just be the amount of data we have on our dataset. I might be able to clean it up and it would be faster. June 30, 2020 5.0 Overall i liked ShareFile software, it helped me in my day to day work when it comes to maintain and share project documents. Pros It is easy to to maintain and share files/folders across team very in secured way. We can organize files with different folders project wise. When you are in ShareFile and want to send a file to your colleague you no need to download and send thru the email, just in click it helps you to send it. Cons I some how feel it needs little improvements i customer support side, and also files will be downloaded sometimes slowly. But not major concerns.Happy till now using it. We would highly recommend to another prospective user. Pros ShareFile allows us to both send and most importantly receive files in a safe and secure manner. This is instrumental in our practice. We both send and receive data on a weekly basis and this gives our team, our clients and their intermediaries confidence that the sensitive information is being transmitted safely. Cons The web app is a little clunky in terms of some of the actions such as checking out a document or editing a document. Sometimes documents that were intact were showing up as corrupted and had to be forced to reload. Similar issues on the desktop app but nothing insurmountable. I work in e-commerce, specifically in item set up, so I am continuously adding new items to our catalog and communicating with our vendors to get images for me to add to our site. Sharefile makes it super easy to create folders and create shareable links to send to my vendors. It even features a setting where you can get email notifications every time images get uploaded to a specific folder. I add about 200 items per week, and work with dozens of vendors, so anything to keep me organized is helpful. Pros I like that you can create group folders that make it easy to share files within a team. You can also create folders and send shareable links which allows anyone to easily drop and upload images and files. I work in e-commerce and deal with uploading images of products to our site— this software has been vital in my role. It allows for us to be able to receive documents to and from external people, which is ideal when email inboxes usually have limits on the size of attachments. I do feel it is over priced for the amount we use it, and wish there was a different price for non-profit organizations. Pros We have multiple documents that we need to share with external people, or that external people need to share with us. This is a great platform to do both of these. Cons The platform itself is tricky to manage, especially for people who do not use it often. It is not always straight forward. And it is very expensive for a file sharing option. Importing a file takes less than a minute and I have a link generated to be able to send to specific users or to a broader audience in case the client wants to share on a larger scale. Gives our company confidence that sensitive data is being protected more than sending an attachment via email Cons Minimal thing, but you can't generate a link to share a file if that file is still open on your computer. Pros Citrix Sharefile is an easy to use way of transferring PDF files, Videos, and larger files, in a one stop storage and shareable place. Also being able to compress large files and use e-signatures are awesome aspects. Cons Everything about Citrix Sharefile is easy, no problems as of yet. The prices are similar in comparison with other products. This is definitely my preferred method of sending confidential documents Pros I like citrix sharefile because it's very easy to use and requires almost no thinking. I use it both to send and receive/review confidential information and documents. It's very straightforward, I simply add the sensitive attachment to an e-mail and convert it to a secured sharefile document. Same goes when I am the recipient, the step by step instructions are clear and I am able to download what i need pretty instantly. It's another good alternative. Cons The only shortcoming about citrix sharefile is that some clients are old fashioned and struggle with either the instructions or various firewalls on their own computers disallow them from accessing the document. I don't know that there is a viable workaround, which is fine, I just attribute this to clients' preference on how they'd prefer to receive documents. The initial set up is also another tricky part, you need to make sure you have the compatible version of windows/outlook. Review Source AV Aneta V.
