Cons I don't like that office365 is a required add if you use this from outside of the citrix environment. I understand licensing but it is still inconvenient. Also the mobile app is not very robust. Pros It is easy to use and access files from anywhere. I can open my laptop and have access to files from my team immediately. Cons Often times the system will lock users out for a period of time. This causes inconvenience as files become unavailable. There are no collaboration tools either... Pros I like how the software is very easy to install into Outlook, and can be used to encrypt email attachments. Cons I can't think of anything I did not like about this software - It worked very well. I love the drive mapper, it is a must for our citrix environment. Cons Customer support is somewhat difficult to get ahold of. It is used to store important company info in a distributed network, as well as sharing information with clients and consumers. They make it easy to do all these things quickly and securely. Pros Sharefile makes it easy to store and share company data. It gives you the ability to share this data with your internal team, or with non-team members. The security features ensure you have complete control with your data. The apps they have make it easy for end users to utilize the service on a daily basis. Cons Sharefile works. April 13, 2018 4.0 Pros Security is unmatched and there's no arguing with that. When security is top of mind Sharefile makes the most sense. For users - the ability to send and receive extremely large files very quickly is great. You can also turn on notifications to track who is opening, sending, downloading files and set restrictions on all of those parameters which are excellent features for security concerns. Cons It's not quite there as a collaborative tool. We've a lot of issues in my office of people secretly using google docs instead of sharefile while working on projects with others. You can share folders with your coworkers but you can't all work on a document or spreadsheet together from multiple computers like you can with gsuite and that is frustrating for employees who work in highly collaborative roles/departments. It also requires you to change your password frequently but they don't make it easy and you cannot re-use your last 25 passwords! Pros This is an easy way to transfer information securely. It has excellent encryption. Sharing files is easy and they have a drive mapper and a plug in for outlook. Administration is very easy with everything being point and click. There are a lot of options depending on the level of security you want. The company even has a HIPAA partitioned server so we can stay compliant Cons The outlook plug in is a little clunky. It does not work on all computers. They just have some bugs to work out. For example: for accounting, the app will display options for clients to sign documents, which cuts out on them having to post or fax documents. -There are great mobile apps that make it very easy to send files - they even have apps for Windows and Blackberry users! -Integrates with Microsoft Office and Gmail which makes it even easier to use. Cons No real cons. The mobile apps can be a little on the slow side, but this not a major issue. The interface can be a bit overwhelming as it has lots of options, but you quickly get use to it and the options are all useful. President Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "S Drive Non Reliable" January 10, 2020 1.0 I have been using Sharefile for 3 years. When we use the desktop sync version, GREAT. When we use the S Drive version, HORRIBLE. Not just horrible, but costs you so much money and aggravation in downtime, you could not imagine until you try it. If you have a stationary location where you do not switch between networks, i am sure it is fine, but if you travel with a laptop, go from one network service to another, it SUCKS, incredibly SUCKS. I have put up with this for months now. I am deleting as soon as i can and going back to desktop sync. Not even customer support can fix this issue. I have offered up the computer to their support and they did not take it, i guess because they know what is wrong and know they cannot fix the issue. Not upset with the Sharefile service, just the S drive portion of the service. Pros I like that there is an app that integrates to my computer (and my coworkers computers) to basically make a folder that acts like its own hard drive on our computers. We can all access and share it (haha share files!) and it just works well. I can also log in online and access files if I am not on my desktop. Cons Sometimes it loses sync, but honestly, not been a big deal. Nothing major has caused me to not like the program. It is by far the best sharing services I have ever used. I would highly recommend it to any Business. Pros I like the most about Sharefile for its easiness to use. I am able to use ShareFile to share my files to any of my co-workers in the same server by simply dragging the files on my local destination to the ShareFile folder. It is simple and easy to use. Cons So far there is nothing I don't like about ShareFile. It is similar to DropBox but I personally think ShareFile is easier to use. Now we can send them anything they need securely and receive secure documents back from them. Pros It allows us to communicate with our members in a secure manner which gives us the option to share private information over the email system. Cons There is nothing so far that I don't like about the software solution. It delivers what we purchased it for. Reason for choosing Progress ShareFile We chose ShareFile because they seemed to have a good product for a great value and the most influential reason was their customer support and sales teams seemed very responsive compared to the others. Pros As a Citrix product it carries the usual value for the price, ease of use, and reliability you can expect from them. A huge plus is that it is also HIPAA compliant, and was the most cost-efficient solution we found that was. Cons We haven't had any negatives at all with using ShareFile so far, and we've been using it for about 2 years now. Cons It's a rather tedious process for saving the documents after receiving them. I have a temptation to just send and receive via email by attaching documents to the email (because it's easier and quicker through email), but it's not as secure via email. You can send even the big files fast and securely. You can also send links to specific file to a colleague and this ensures they download the right file. Pros I like that ShareFile allows us to keep all important documents safe and secure. It allows you to upload large files even those that emails cannot send. Only the authorized persons can access files and this makes it safe for sharing crucial/sensitive files. It offers file backup since everything is stored in the cloud. You can access file with any devices at any time from anywhere. Cons The cost is high and the free trial seems too short. The desktop app seems to work well than when you access it with your PC browser. We have not had any major problems with this tool but poor internet coverage might block you from accessing files.
