Audit Manager Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "ShareFile is nice" June 9, 2020 4.0 Fairly easy to use. I like that users can download Sharefile to be a folder on your computer. ShareFile provided the security we needed. We have been moving away from Sharefile because we need a worflow manager application as we are auditors and a workflow manager allows us to work more efficiently with our clients. Pros Security of the software. Ability to integrate with Microsoft Outlook. Cons Cannot create a list of requests (i.e. workflow app). Pros The outlook plugin is a great time saver uploading documents right to sharefile so you don't need to login to the web page to send documents. Pros We use sharefile daily so all of our employees have access to the pertinent information at the touch of a finger. It helps in sharing the data privately with other team members of the organization. It integrates well with other applications and helps in signing the document before sending them. Cons Navigating the folders and uploading large files becomes slow sometimes. Also, the user interface can be improved. Pros I enjoy the ease of use for ShareFile - the notifications baked into the product really guide any new user through accessing a shared document and help enable truly collaborative workflows. Cons There are few issues with this program. Maybe the interface could be tidied up to get rid of unnecessary tabs, but there's very little that needs to be changed. We are able to have complete control over our own "cloud" storage using our own on premises SAN. Users find it very easy and friendly to use without any technical expertise. Pros We are able to share large files (too large to email) very easily both inside our network and outside with anyone in the world. We are able to use our own storage on premises for this and not worry about some other cloud storage that is stored who knows where. However you always have the option of using the citrix cloud as well. Cons Some administrative tasks and settings are a bit hard to find, but once you learn your way around it is not bad. It has features and branding for professional firms that makes it as solid performer for those firms wishing to collaborate with clients. It is easier to administer that most other CPA / client data management systems. Cons Could have more features and tools to simplify user on-boarding and on-going use Reason for choosing Progress ShareFile DropBox considered lower end and not as secure. OneDrive is best with small firms with no need for outside access. Pros It was nice to be able to connect with our clients and have shared files that they can get the most up-to-date info. This is exceptional when you are trying to share project files with a colleague on the same login. Pros Great Tool for Managing Files over a cloud based network. Cons Sometime glitchy but very rarely had a problem. Schools can share with each other by accessing each other's files. Cons I haven't run into any significant cons (I've only used the software for three months). I've never had an issue with file size, but this may be due to the fact that I'm primarily uploading unit guides (30 page Word documents, for example). I've never tried to upload a video, and I'd be interested to see if the software has the capacity to do so. This increased productivity when referring patients of transferring records. Pros The layout was sleek and arranged well, functionality was superb, I trusted the security, and the link generation was quick and easy. I liked how you could set it to make you aware when a secure link was opened. The ability to share large files, HIPPA compliance, good encryption protocol, and overall ability to customize the platform. Cons The price for what you get. There are programs that offer the same basic functionality for much less. Also the expiration length for the secure links could use more available options. Pros This is very secure and protected with encryption, perfect for legal or financial information. Electronic signatures are completed with little effort. Citrix ShareFile has an email plugin that sends large files without so many hiccups. The emails are protected on their way. Client portal was well liked. Cons I think it’s too expensive and it needs to be made more simple to understand and use. I think it should be more adaptive so smaller businesses can get what they need without paying for and getting confused with the enterprise settings. The ability to essentially send a share for your file, have the receiver tunnel back to the location, and be able to access the documents without having to worry about your email service denying it due to file size is immensely helpful. Cons Having a Citrix Environment already in place already helps when setting ShareFile up initially, however, if ShareFile is your first Citrix product then you may run into some difficulties during initial setup.
