Medicat as a company has been exceptional. From our on boarding training to our interactions with the Medicat help center, and with the regular educational meetings and software updates, the overall experience has been wonderful. The team members are knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. There is a level of transparency as well when there is an issue that needs additional time or expertise with clear communication on next steps.

Pros

The most productive change we have experienced since transitioning to Medicat is use of the secure patient portal. The portal allowed our university to modernize our immunization compliance for new students but also expanded our access for existing students to schedule appointments with all three of our clinics, upload other documentation, access their own immunization records, securely communicate with staff using secure messaging, check in for their appointments, and complete required health forms. This has impacted our daily operations significantly reducing phone calls, manual entry of data, and streamlining our visits.

Cons

Utilizing the Legacy system and M1, rather than one program can be challenging. Learning essentially two different programs limits my comfortability as a super user that primarily uses Legacy when there are issues in the M1 system that need support from our administrative perspective.

Overall, I disliked it and wish that we would have obtained other charting software

The ability to see students records and their insurance.

Cons

I really disliked medicat. It would crash very often and it would take forever to come back up and start running correctly.

Overall, Medicat is customer service driven, listens to the customer and make every attempt to either fix a problem, or help find a solution that will work for your practice. I cannot say enough about their customer service!

Pros

The ability to set up appointments, scheduling, documentation and the patient portal specifically for our students has been great. Medicat is very good at helping navigate how electronic records affect processes and how to look at things differently. Most new employees find Medicat much easier to navigate than most EHR systems. Their support staff is always great to responds to tickets in a timely manner and to listen to requests/suggestions.

Cons

While we have been able to learn to find the best reports for our data needs, it has been a struggle. Reports done in 2 different reporting options can results in differing data which can be frustrating due to different logic with each report (that is unknown). BI Pro is helping with that. The multi-clinic patient portal, while an improvement, still has some work to be done. It is not intuitive to navigate as a user. We have been able to find some workarounds, but not easy if you do not have someone in your IT that is a strong coder.

Pros

The customer support and corporate ethos is strong. They understand their customers and are committed to meeting our needs.

Cons

The original legacy product has interface design flaws that are being fixed in the Medicat One update and we're still on the legacy software.

I have used Medicat for 8 years now and continue to learn new things by taking the opportunities through the self-help desk tutorials. Medicat is easy to train new employees on as well AND the support is second to none! I have used other systems in the past and like Medicat the best.

Pros

I appreciate that the system is user friendly and makes me more efficient at my job on a daily basis.

Cons

I would like to have more in-person training close by to learn more administrative tasks within the system.

We used titanium prior to Medicat that was easier to write reports with. If I had not known there were other programs I would have adjusted better.

Pros

Ability to document all contact with clients by emailing through the portal.

Cons

The calendar doesn’t link to Google calendar. Documents were difficult to make.
