The package met our need for an end to end intake and delivery solution to sit alongside our tax software. Pros Deliver is great. Connect seems to be improving as we go along. It's nice to have a product that delivers with just one email. I'm glad they are improving the \[sensitive content hidden\] agent; we look forward to the multi-user version of that to roll out. We like the flexibility of the questionnaire templates and greatly appreciate that the Collect piece can be used for walk-in clients as well as clients who submit their tax documents digitally. Cons Implementation was rough in January. Until we found \[sensitive content hidden\], it was hard to get our support questions answered intelligently. The deliver interface lacks a way to print an invoice for stripe - currently we have to go out to Stripe and email that over to ourselves to get a copy. I wish it had more integration with Karbon. Soraban listens and is constantly improving their product. There is nothing stagnant about this product. The marketplace for this type of product is changing daily, and Soraban keeps up with those changes. I am on my 3rd tax season with Soraban, and I have no plans to go elsewhere. The clients do not complain and are able to navigate it with very little support. Pros The time it saves me. It's nearly impossible to quantify the time I have saved. The mundane tasks we were performing (following up on engagement letters, missing documents, list of documents) just disappeared. The Connect feature, where the docs can be automatically added to the tax software (Lacerte in my case), is amazing. Clients add a W2 -- boom, the W2 is in Lacerte before we can even open the file. There is a lot of control on this feature too, but it's amazingly accurate. Cons The cost. I'd like it to be a free service to CPAs. :) All kidding aside, I learned a long time ago that you get what you pay for when it comes to software. The price is actually very reasonable considering the roles it covers. They have been extremely receptive to any comments or feedback we have had and they have always been willing to listen to improve the product. They are changing the game in the industry and we will continue to take the ride with them! Pros Ability for our team to get out of email (a terrible time suck), schedule recurring automatic questionnaires and streamline our tax prep process. Cons Really nothing. Pros The Soraban team always considers our firms notes and researches areas of improvements to better the portal experience, not only internal improvements; for our clients too! Cons Support center is through email/texts (electronic only); no "customer service" phone to call should issues be very time sensitive. Although, the team does reply in a fast turnaround time. Sometimes it's nice to have a phone number handy if ever needed. Reasons for choosing Soraban More bandwidth of improving the portal, had a better sense of trust with Soraban than the competing product. The platform is designed to make the process of collecting and managing tax information as easy as possible.The standout feature of Soraban is its client portal. It offers an intuitive interface that allows my clients to upload their documents directly. This eliminates the need for back-and-forth emails and keeps everything organized in one place. The document request list feature is also incredibly helpful, allowing me to customize what I need from each client, reducing confusion and saving time. Pros Ease of use from the firm and client perspectives! Cons The responsiveness on a mobile device could use some work, and to my knowledge, they are already actively working to make this easier to use on a mobile device. Staff can chat with clients directly with the chat history available for reviewers to see. Pros Soraban's chat feature makes communication with clients easy and allows all staff to see the history. Sending and receiving information or documents is very convenient.Soraban customer service is top notch and responds within a few minutes and often uses technology to help with any questions.I also like the ability to see things from the client perspective and add information that the client may have sent in an email rather than through Soraban. Cons Duplicate documents are part of the questionnaire when clients are uploading tax documents. The questionnaire can be over 100 pages because of this and scrolling through it can take some time.I would like to see a feature to have clients pay fees linked to our bank account. Reasons for choosing Soraban Speaking with the Soraban team gave me a more comfortable feeling as they are very customer service oriented.
