If I had to compare them with other softwares we've used that are more expensive, they do a good job of providing basic client portal features to compete with the other softwares out there but at an affordable price. Pros Our remote firm has a lean team so we were looking for a client portal that was in our budget. Basil delivers! We also appreciate our dedicated rep \[sensitive content hidden\] who checks in on us as well as meets with us to walk us through any new software features. We really appreciate that, as we didn't get that from the previous software company we used. Cons We would prefer that certain folders were locked so that the clients can have a dedicted uploads folder. RIght now, both ourselves and our clients have a difficult time finding documents that they've uploaded. We're implementing the software's capabilities in phases. It has its challenges; however, Basil's support is very responsive and they have helped us overcome our immediate challenges between what the software can do vs. what we would like/need it to do. It has been a pleasant experience working with Basil's respective teams to get the best functionality for our firm. Pros We have seen a significant increase of client response to our file sharing and information requests. The value for our investment has definitely been positive. Cons It doesn't do everything we would like it to do but we're confident that working with Basil support we can bridge that gap. Additionally there's issues using special characters that can get frustrating. I'm glad I finally hopped aboard the Basil train. Pros Value for the money, file sharing, client support, and best of all is their customer support. Basil is fairly easy to use, has excellent user interface, and a great way to manage documents with the ability to create file folders as necessary.. Cons I haven't been able to intuitively figure out all functions; however, it hasn't been a problem because I can telephone support where my call is answered within a minute ~ every time ~ and have my issue resolved within minutes. Basil's customer support is second to none. When presentations were given, Basil was the ONLY one who seemed to listen to my specific needs and show me how their softeware worked to fit my needs before trying to woo me with a bunch of bells and whistles I wasn't interested in. Once they showed me what I wanted to see, they asked me if they could show me a couple of other features they thought I would be interested in hearing about. The Basil sales team was very intuitive at addressing my needs first then showing me other features that were not too complicated to grasp. My clients love me because I keep it simple, and Basil knew enough to keep it simple with me. I would say if you aren't ready to go into a full enterprise solution like Microsoft or Atlassian, this product really gets you a lot of features for a small to midsize team (2 - 20 team members). I can get my clients serviced and happy, even though I may may not be able to be in their proximity. Pros I very much appreciate the quick response from the folks at Basil whenever I have a question. Whether it is via phone or email, I have always received a very thorough response. Cons I have never worked with a platform like this before so for me the learning curve has been a little steep. There is a great platform available for learning but I always just want to know how to do it.
