### "A lot of bang for not a lot of bucks"

I am thankful for Basil coming around and offering me a cost-effective way to handle multiple clients, obtain documents, send out documents, and be able to assign tasks to clients for an affordable rate that even a startup company such as myself can afford

Pros

I like that it does the same thing that Client Hub does, but for almost a third of the price. I had client hub, and I was paying $99 for it. It was a decent program, except I could not afford it, being a startup business myself. When Basil came around and offered the same thing, I jumped on the chance.

Cons

Some of my clients are not tech-savvy and haven't really been able to catch on to the platform. Some of the things that they had a problem with, I didn't know how to fix myself. That was kind of hard, trying to explain to them how to use the platform that I was pushing.

I have appreciated being able to send and receive information with the security offered through Basil. I can get my clients serviced and happy, even though I may may not be able to be in their proximity.

Pros

I very much appreciate the quick response from the folks at Basil whenever I have a question. Whether it is via phone or email, I have always received a very thorough response.

Cons

I have never worked with a platform like this before so for me the learning curve has been a little steep. There is a great platform available for learning but I always just want to know how to do it.

I am really excited to see what Basil has in store in the future. They do have some ways to go in regards to customizing for clients. We have asked them to complete at least 15 task, but they have actively tried to do it all.

Pros

The Customer Service is amazing! From the sales team, tech, and client support. I have never felt brushed off. We usually get a same day turn around. Also, we get details on the why, if something can not be addressed. I am not sure if it is coincidence or cultural......nevertheless it is impressive.

Cons

As a young company, I see that there are lots of kinks to work out. The product updates often. There are multiple items that we had to ask for them to be created and not already available. Moreover, we almost have to train the team to what we want instead of having items and/or options provided.

The amazing team that works diligently every day and truly listens to ensure all of your needs are met with care and precision. An amazing team that works diligently, pays close attention, and takes the time to listen so that all of your needs are fully understood and met. A dedicated and amazing team that works diligently while actively listening to ensure your needs are clearly understood and properly taken care of.

Cons

I would like to have visibility into the remaining budgeted hours on each task so we can better track progress and manage resources effectively. It would be helpful to see the remaining budgeted hours allocated to each task in order to monitor usage and ensure we stay within planned limits. I would appreciate having access to the remaining budgeted hours on tasks so we can improve planning, oversight, and overall project efficiency.

Am very satisfied and I still have additional features to discover and leverage for my team of 6 members.

Pros

Basil is a great hub for collaborating teams to have communication, track files, and deliverables using projects and tasks. I would say if you aren't ready to go into a full enterprise solution like Microsoft or Atlassian, this product really gets you a lot of features for a small to midsize team (2 - 20 team members). Their customer service is amazing. The people you talk to are polite, receptive, patient, and eager to assist you in being successful using their tools

Cons

There are some features that could use improvement. But the team at Coral are eager to receive feedback.

I would highly recommend Basil to new preparers. The learning curve is low and the help is always there.

Pros

Client support is outstanding. They have always responded quickly by chat or video conferencing. While some clients find the user interface challenging, most find it easy to use to upload files and to retrieve completed returns. My favorite feature is the chat where corresponding with clients is safe and secure.

Cons

Improvements to file management of individual completed documents needs to happen. Currently there is no way a document can be marked as entered or completed.

Support has been great and my experience with Basil has been good. I highly recommend Basil if you are a small firm and want something to help with your workflow for a very resonable price.

Pros

Ease of use and value for the money. Easy file sharing with clients and using ESignatures has been really helpful.

Cons

Some limitations but over all no major Cons. The software does what it advertises so I would not have any Cons to mention at this time.

Pros

I love that I am able to securely send and recieve documents with my clients, I can also create esign doucments, send upload link to clients even if the do not create a profile. The cost is efficent for the value of the software and live support whenever I need it . I haven't intergrated it with my QB yet, but I plan to as I grow. I love my Basil I will be renewing for another year.

Cons

I haven't learned all of the aspects of the software and there is some features I don't need so I can't give any cons at this moment.

It's been great. The company constantly updates the software to improve security or features. Support has been very good.

Pros

It's an economical portal that allows you to have clients upload or download documents securely where they can be stored indefinitely.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve for uploading documents with some clients. Once they got the hang of it it worked fine.

Pros

When it comes to sharing reports with my clients, Basil has been a fantastic choice. An inexpensive and user-friendly choice.

There are some file types that are not compatible.

So far so good, we did have to drop the document management and signature aspects.

Pros

I really like the practice management side of things. The ability to look at data in a spreadsheet form is awesome!

Cons

I don't love the document sharing side of things. I also do not like the fact that once you send a client an invite you can't resend it. Clients are not great at acting right away. I don't like that there are things that ONLY one person in our company can do. This creates a bottle neck.

Basil does support resending an invite to a client who has not responded. After adding a client, click on the three-dot menu for that client and you will see a "Resend Invite" button. 3. Basil has a flexible permissions system that lets you add custom roles, add custom permissions into each role, and add team members into roles so that multiple people on your staff can perform tasks safely. Pros

Support and ease of use. We have had special things built into the program that our firm needs to be successful which in turn will help other firms as well.

The learning curve. Access sharing for one CPA with multiple clients.

The training and support are excellent. The onboarding session was completely customized for me and my team.

Pros

I love being able to have a folder/file structure. So far my favorite is the ability to open and edit excel in the program. The price is very affordable for a small or solo practice.

No android app yet, hopefully that is in the works.

Overall well worth it for the money. Easy to use, and tech support is fantastic. I am sure I am probably not using many of the features available.

Pros

Great client portal allows us to easily upload files to our clients, allows KBA compliant e-signatures that are easy to use. Clients can also easily upload documents to the portal for our review. Customer service is fantastic. Tech support is amazing - quick to respond and fix any issues.

Cons

Most of my initial complaints have been fixed - having clients sign up was clunky the 1st year (they would sign up as a company instead of one of your clients) but that has been fixed.

The support you receive from Coral Tree is amazing. Whether it is talking with the tech team (an actual person) or emailing for additional support. They always answer the phone and are quick to turnaround requests!

Pros

How easy it was to set up AND how easy it was on the client interface.

Cons

We do not have any CONS. On the contrary, we are very interested in utilizing other aspects of this software.

Pros

Having the app on my phone is so convenient! It is a super user-friendly system.

Cons

The only con was that I did not realize that I had annual selected, so I was billed a large amount. When I reached out to customer service, they showed me how to switch to monthly. They were super friendly and so much help!
