Pros Basil facilitated clients management in an optimum manner with good value for money by saving time, effective file sharing, user friendly signature for client support and better document management with maintaining security of vital information. It provides several features to learn in the process of client management and good customer service with regular feedback for any issues while using Basil. The team at Basil has been wonderful and exceeded my expectations with the level of support they provide. While I'm still learning the platform, I have had several questions that have been immediately addressed by the Basil team, providing useful information and further explaining processes beyond my expectations. Basil overall, is user friendly and offers a broad selection of features to assist with delegating tasks, and staying on track during the work day. Pros The support team at Basil has exceeded my expectations. Anytime that I have a question or concern my needs are addressed immediately by a team member. The team has been extremely helpful and friendly addressing any questions that are brought to their attention. Cons While Basil offers so many functions and features, I often have to spend time thinking about the best method to accomplish what I am attempting to achieve. While I begin to utilize the program more in depth, I'm certain that the features and functions will become much easier to navigate. While sending signatures to clients, it appears that the client has to enter verification codes for each signature they are assigned. This has proven to be troublesome to some of our clients while navigating a new platform, even though they have verified their identity with their 6 digit PIN already. My clients can upload documents into separate folders, sending them to me securely. Pros Very user-friendly for both the accountant and client. The price is very affordable. I like that I can set up automatic reminders for my clients to send me information. Sending client info securely is very important to our firm. Cons Not much I don't like, except maybe more bookkeeping-type options. Currently, it's more tax-focused. Pros Basil provides an excellent two-way tool for sharing documents and sensitive information. Basil's portal allows you to schedule and assign tasks and projects, obtain e-signatures, and create forms to be filled out. Cons The Basil calendar doesn't integrate with your scheduling calendar, and the email feature only connects with Gmail. Hopefully, Basil will add conditional functionality to the forms generator. I believe with some fixes that come from Feeback and it being fixed will guarantee full potential to spread out to others for usage! Pros I like the simplicity of uploading documents and that it's very user-friendly. The chat becomes very useful for communication as well. Cons One thing that is disliked is the extra security code clients get when trying to do an electronic signature, it becomes a hassle especially for older clients who aren't tech-savvy. Have had great experiences with their other product, QBox, so am expecting better results as we learn the ins & outs. Pros Ability for clients to easily access documents including copies of tax returns as well as uploading their annual tax documents used to prepare their returns. Cons Would like to see multiple files accessible with the same e-mail address, but it's probably a situation where I didn't start using the product right away & this was probably covered in the demo. So, I am going to give it time. Pros The customer support has been great. Every time we email over to \[sensitive content hidden\] ,he has replied instantly. Cons It's hard to say because it's still new to me. From what I see so far, you can't seem to move or download multiple documents all at once, you only can do it one by one. The client has to Put in their PIN when opening up the signature page to sign but then, to complete the task it has you enter in another PIN that was sent to your email. Having to enter in two PINs can get confusing to the clients, especially the older ones. I do not like how only the support team can change an email on a user's account especially during busy system. I do not have a lot of time being a small tax office. Each person I have worked with has been very patient and accommodating to my schedule and needs. I'm excited to be able to have a better level of organization of work flow. Pros I've been doing a demo with Basil for a while trying to figure out a better way to manage my accounting office and keep up with the work flow and deadlines. Having the ability to easily have clients sign documents is a godsend! The support staff has been very patient in helping me learn how to get things done. I look forward to having a smoother tax season and to manage all my bookkeeping clients instead of writing sticky notes to lose. Cons Having to learn something new. I will say the staff has been very patient in helping me traverse the software. The product is a very cost-effective way for my office to securely transmit data needed for tax preparation. I am also happy to hear that they are willing to listen to end user suggestions for enhancements if they make sense. I am very impressed. Pros From the online review process to my finally signing on as a new customer the experience was excellent. The product checks all of the boxes for what my small Accounting and Tax office needs to securely communicate with our clients and at a cost efficient price. Cons I have not really found anything not to like yet. The product is very intuitive to use and the instruction demo that I did with the Basil team answered my questions very well. I've been slowly moving my clients into the portal as I work with them, so hopefully the transition continues to go smoothly in the vast changing world for tax security for our clients. Pros The client accessibility so I no longer need to email or fax documents to them, they can simply retrieve any documents they need, as well as the extra security for the chat feature to where clients have the capability of sharing sensitive information with me. Cons The limited phone app capabilities. I think it would be a great feature to be able to utilize the app to upload, download, e-sign, etc. Or at least to my understanding, the mobile app was very limited currently. The ability to look at data in a spreadsheet form is awesome! Cons I don't love the document sharing side of things. I also do not like the fact that once you send a client an invite you can't resend it. Clients are not great at acting right away. I don't like that there are things that ONLY one person in our company can do. This creates a bottle neck. Basil does support resending an invite to a client who has not responded. After adding a client, click on the three-dot menu for that client and you will see a "Resend Invite" button. 3. Basil has a flexible permissions system that lets you add custom roles, add custom permissions into each role, and add team members into roles so that multiple people on your staff can perform tasks safely. It's a very user-friendly platform, and I appreciate how intuitive it is to navigate. Despite the minor inconvenience with the verification process, it’s a great tool that simplifies my work. Pros What I like most about Basil is its mobile app. It's incredibly convenient for clients as they can access the platform and manage documents directly from their phones. This makes communication and document handling much easier, especially when clients are on the go. Glad he's on our team! Pros It is very user friendly and our clients LOVE it as it's really easy to upload documents compared to our last portal. We have so many other options as well that we haven't even begun to use but are excited about (i.e., forms, auto sign, emails, chats, etc.) Also, it's nice to have a few contacts we can actually speak to along with the support link which we did NOT have before. Lastly, the integration from our old portal to Basil has been easy as we just hit upload or drag the files from one the old to the new. It's not some tedious, long process. Cons I haven't found one yet but if I do you'll be first to know. Really excited about this portal as it already has simplified my job immensely. Thank you. Cons I don't like that you can not go back to a previous date when you are clocking time worked on a client and that their are only 15 increments when inputting hours and minutes for the time clock.
