The onboarding session was completely customized for me and my team. Pros I love being able to have a folder/file structure. So far my favorite is the ability to open and edit excel in the program. The price is very affordable for a small or solo practice. Cons No android app yet, hopefully that is in the works. Pros It's user friendly and helps keep all information in one place for each client. Cons The fact that we cannot request documents or send links for documents through email. I am pretty confident that it will smooth out and happy with the overall program. Great customer service!! Pros I like the way you can schedule monthly projects and tasks with ease. I have given the team feedback and they implemented ideas as they are able. They want to know what you think will make thier product better and easier to use for you. Pros Easy to setup and use. Adding clients is easy and I can opt to share with the client or not. Cons There are some features that need to be added to Basil such as a way to get things to/from email. Switched from [Progress ShareFile](https://www.capterra.com/p/10007380/ShareFile/) ShareFile became very expensive and having Basil which is by CoralTree - who also developed QBox was attractive to me. Pros it's super easy to use and my clients love it. I don't have resistance issues with my clients that others do because of the simplicity of it all. The product works well and is easy to navigate and implement. The support team is exceptional. I've always had a wonderful experience with all facets of Basil. Pros My favorite part about Basil is that it was easy to set up. I did not need a lot of training to get it set up and running. I have been using Basil for quite some time without needing to change much of how I originally set it up. The software is user-friendly for me, my coworkers, and my clients. Cons I'm struggling to find something here. If I've ever had a problem, I mentioned it to the support team and I have watched many of my suggestions get implemented. This team is very responsive to their customers. Reason for choosing Basil The excessive cost for other products was my first reason. Switched from [SmartVault](https://www.capterra.com/p/82811/SmartVault/) I had worked with the CoralTree team on QBox for years and had already developed trust with the team. It is inexpensive compared to the competition and it works fine. I think it will continue to get better as they grow. The customer service has been very good. Sometimes they have not been able to solve my particular problem but they are always very nice and responsive. I like the follow up too when a solution is created later. I do feel a little like a Beta tester sometimes. There are pros and cons to being in on the ground floor. Pros I like that the interface is intuitive. I just sign my clients up and tell them to let me know if they have trouble but none of them do, they have all just figured out how to upload and navigate the system on their own. I also like that you can organize the files into subfolders. You couldn't do that in my last system & this males for a better workflow for me. Cons I wish there was a way to write back to the customer on a particular item. That was a feature my last system had that I really miss. The app isn't amazing yet. Reason for choosing Basil I was not considering options. I was approached by Basil since I am a QBox customer. I evaluated the differences between Basil & Liscio & decided to switch. Customer service has been great and I have not had any problems with them speaking over my head or discounting what my concerns have been. Pros I like that both my clients and I can access, upload and download important documents to a secure location. Cons I can only have one document open at a time. Pros Basil is a very affordable option for my client Portal. I have used Basil since it's inception and have seen that many improvements have been made along the way. Customer support has been very good. Cons The menu layout is not always intuitive in where to find things I'm looking for. I've had clients find it difficult to use but that was mainly in the early days although I've had a few clients this year struggle with the e-sign function. Reason for choosing Basil I looked at Basil in the beginning as I have used a sister product, Q-Box, for years and have had a very positive experience with that product. It's affordable and they listen to customer feedback, which I really appreciate. Pros I love using Basil to easily and securely share payroll files with my clients. They can upload the files I need and I can share back with them. Cons I wish the interface was a little easier to use to share documents with clients. The response has always been very quick, and my questions have been answered clearly. Pros I am an older accountant, not very tech-savvy, nor very interested in becoming tech-savvy. I needed a simple, straightforward method to send and receive sensitive documents to and from my tax clients. Basil was easy to set up and is easy for me to use. The few times I've needed help, support has been quick with the answers. My clients have all reported positive experiences both with Basil and with support. Cons Really, there isn't anything I don't like about Basil. I know I barely scratch the surface of what Basil can be used for, but everything I use works great. Reason for choosing Basil I considered several other products that I can't now remember the names of. The others were far more expensive and didn't offer any more services that I needed. Whether it is talking with the tech team (an actual person) or emailing for additional support. They always answer the phone and are quick to turnaround requests! Pros How easy it was to set up AND how easy it was on the client interface. Cons We do not have any CONS. On the contrary, we are very interested in utilizing other aspects of this software. Cons The only con was that I did not realize that I had annual selected, so I was billed a large amount. When I reached out to customer service, they showed me how to switch to monthly. Cons After using another product and having problems with customer service and getting no help at all from customer service, I was cancelling the other product, and we found Basil. Has worked well for what I need to use it for. Secure file upload, e-signing documents. Good customer support. Pros User & admin friendly, good features, e-sign documents, a good amount of supported file types, pretty easy for clients to use, one time upload & download links, hopefully secure. Nice interface, good customer support. New updates are good, they take feedback from users to make it better. Cons The pricing is pretty high for small businesses & I really hope they don't raise the prices after a couple years or it would be unaffordable. I wish you could have a team member for less cost than a full user. Currently a team member is the same cost as a full admin.
