I had a migration script for a 40-user tenant that I budgeted two days for, but I ended up finishing it before lunch. That moment sold me. I’ve never even needed to reach out to support, which really tells you everything. For a three-person shop juggling five clients, this is the easiest line item I sign off on. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Pros

On the first day, I was annoyed that it kept trying to force React patterns into a plain jQuery admin panel I’d picked up from a client. But that annoyance faded once the thing actually read enough of the repo. Now it just handles the boring stuff, Graph API calls, Terraform blocks, and the basic error handling I would’ve just copied from some old project anyway.

Cons

I usually have to trim half of the comment generation because it gets way too wordy before I send a handover doc to a client. I also really wish there was something for quick architecture diagrams or screenshots. Image and video generation just aren't its thing, so I still end up building those by hand.

Renewing without a second thought. Our team is just two developers and me handling all the integrations. Copilot saves me a few hours every week that I’d otherwise spend typing out boilerplate or looking up syntax. Sure, it makes mistakes, but they’re usually pretty obvious and quick to fix. Honestly, it’s worth every dollar for a small shop like ours where everyone’s wearing multiple hats.

Pros

Last week I rebuilt our vendor API connector in two hours, down from five. Copilot handles the repetitive CRUD operations, which lets me actually focus on the marketplace logic. I’m seeing way fewer typos in my endpoint URLs and JSON keys, too. It even guesses our internal naming conventions after just seeing three examples. Honestly, it saves me from having to context-switch to the documentation every two minutes.

Cons

It sometimes suggests deprecated packages we stopped using months ago, so I have to double-check its imports against our actual stack. It also writes overly clever code now and then when something simple would work just fine. It's not a dealbreaker, really, it just means I have to pay closer attention during review.

By staying connected to my editor in real-time, it allows me to maintain a productive flow state, enabling me to focus more on high-level logic and less on the minutiae of implementation. Pros

It integrates very nicely into the Github suite as well as VS Code which is my preferred IDE. It was one of the first major players in AI assisted development.

Cons

Copilot doesn't seem to produce quite as good a result in agentic coding as Claude or Cursor, and I haven't found a useful CLI experience.

I can create powerful, task-specific agents in GitHub Copilot to automate coding workflows, collaborate on features, and orchestrate multi-step tasks directly in Visual Studio Code. This is the best feature, so overall I think it's good to go with GitHub Copilot.

Pros

I liked most about GitHub Copilot is that it provides value for money. Has good customer support along with ease of use. Code generation, Video Creation & Image Generation is better with GitHub Copilot as it has all the required features. Productivity is nice due to GitHub Copilot.

Cons

While GitHub Copilot is powerful, it has limitations. The generated code may not always be accurate or secure, requiring developers to review and adapt it to their standards & I personally dislike it.

Overall experience is ok but I have used better. Just wish they would have kept the older interface because I was use to it but learned the new interface pretty easy. I would definately recommend it to other coders due to it's great at correcting, analyzing, writing code.

Pros

I like you get a generous free usage every month and their payment plans aren't bad prices. I mainly use it for coding in vs code which does wonders for analyzing my code base. Customer service is pretty fast at responding when having issues. I can't really tell you on image or video generation cause I never tried it for them. Great tool for productivity if your working with one of their paid plans but for free plan its only good for it if your doing short jobs.

Cons

What I don't like how they changed their interface in vs code was use to the older one. But as I mention I don't use it for video generation or image generation just maily for code.

Good performance, horrible pricing. Very disappointed about the change in pricing. It's no longer even close to affordable.

Pros

GitHub Copilot used to be an incredible value for code assistance. For the most part, it still excels at code assistance. They have lots of models to choose from, which is nice for productivity.

Cons

Pricing. The pricing changed significantly. From a flat fee to usage-based. The new pricing is nowhere near what it used to be. Its value for what it provides doesn't rival the competition. I have sadly switched to another product due to this issue.

Overall, as someone new to coding and AI, GitHub has drastically alleviated some of the questions and struggle that comes with coding and the technical components of building platforms and codes. It has a lot of capability, and still a lot of areas for us to continue exploring.

Pros

GitHub has helped streamline and simplify writing and working with code. We use the platform to help build and modify our internal VIM platform, and it has exponentially helped simplify the process. We have a range of experts to intermediate members on the team, and everyone has found a use and a positive experience with GitHub.

Cons

While GitHub does simplify and streamline the experience, there is definitely a learning curve. The system has a lot of functionality, but it does take a bit to learn to navigate and access the full content.

Ich benutze GitHub Copilot jetzt schon eine weile und bin grundsätzlich sehr zufrieden. Es hilft mir schneller zu programmieren und gibt oft gute Ideen. Klar hat es noch seine schwächen aber insgesamt empfele ich es jeden Entwickler!

Pros

GitHub Copilot ist wirklich ein klasse Tool für Entwickler. Die Code-Vorschläge sind meist sehr treffend und spaaren enorm viel Zeit beim schreiben. Vorallem bei wiederkehrenden Aufgaben ist es eine große Hilfe.

Cons

Manchmal sind die Vorschläge nicht ganz das was man braucht und man muss sie anpassen. Auch kann es vorkommen das der Copilot etwas falsches vorschlägt, vorallem bei komplexen logiken. Man sollte die Vorschläge immer nochmal überprüfen.
