The TruPIM team was great to work with from start to finish. We found them to be very thorough and helpful. We were already using Akeneo, which TruPIM is powered by, so we had some familiarity with the product. We knew we wanted to migrate to the cloud and went back and forth between TruPIM and Akeneo. At the end of the day, we felt that TruPIM, being a little smaller team but still being powered by the Akeneo software was the correct decision for our needs. We felt more confident about working with the TruPIM team in connecting a cloud PIM solution to our Magento/ECC websites. The TruPIM team was responsive and exceeded our expectations. The only minor negative issue we experience was a budget overrun. We understand this can easily happen when working with software deployments due to unseen variable. TruPIM was willing to listen and work with us when discussed at the end of the project. Overall, a great experience and we haven't had to worry at all about our PIM since.

Pros

We have found TruPIM to be affordable and fair when compared to other cloud-based PIM solutions. The solution is fast and easy to work with. We don't use grouped type products, but I know TruPIM is capable of handling them. Our favorite feature of migrating to TruPIM from our on-prem Akeneo instance is that we no longer have to upgrade and maintain versions or hardware, allowing us to focus valuable time on product management.

Cons

The 2 downsides I have found with TruPIM are: 1) No ability to set up category images or descriptions. It's the only asset management we currently have to work outside TruPIM for. 2) Inability to mass update SKUs with import/export functionality. We were able to develop a way to do this via the API, but import/export functionality would have simplified our lives.

There was no option for Akeneo On-Prem in the choices of what we switched from. The reason we switched from Akeneo On-Prem is that we wanted a cloud solution we did not have to maintain.
