I love this product. It does exactly what it says it’s going to do. The future updates look amazing. The customer service really needs to improve though.

Pros

It works. That’s most important. Non-technical professionals can now tailor their own AI chatbot without a line of code. That saves us tens of thousands of dollars, opens up new revenue streams for specialists in certain areas and with the custom domains function, could potentially lead to a new business model for both technical and non technical professionals. The webscraper really does work well, and once you revise an answer to the way you would want it to, it generally answers the right way every time. Very exciting integrations and developments planned in the roadmap which will make this an incredible service.

Cons

Data collection is still clunky (eg name and email capture) so we had to take it off at the users request cuz they found it bothersome. The initial prompt bubbles don’t disappear after first use so it take up a lot of screen space which makes it hard to read the actually messages sometimes. The Chatbase team is trying but doesn’t respond to most users questions in the community forum. It’s also been a month since I was told that an issue had been “escalated” and I’ve received no response after several attempts to get an update. The development roadmap is super exciting but lacks timelines so it’s hard to know when some important integrations or developments will come online. They also don’t send periodic update announcements to their clients so you have to check manually whether any improvements have taken place. Last, the API connection doesn’t really allow for historical context to be maintained, so if you want to structure a conversation through service and then bringing in Chatbase on the backend (without building a database to store messages), you’ll run into problems.

Reason for choosing Chatbase

As a non technical founder, this gives me control over a really expensive part of my process to build an MVP. I can also retrieve user data and interactions that I need quickly so that I address user painpoints quicker and at a fraction of the cost.

It has been a great experience so far. Being able to tailor make a chatbot that shares relevant info about our business.

Pros

Our Chatbot shares critical information that clients might need in a easily accessible way without having to make physical contact. This saves time as well as improves the user experience on our website. We have also integrated the chatbot for answering any questions after hours through sharing the link in an auto response on Whatsapp. Furthermore we get to see the conversations from our prospective clients to further nurture our chatbot to answer with the correct responses in order to generate additional sales.

Cons

The Q&A section of the learning of the chatbot should have a function to import various Q&A's without having to type it out.

From the start my experience was good with Chatbase,which led me to purchase a package that we could pilot as a start.

We tested it out on a Restaurant to see how guests would engage with a Chatbot. We found it to be a successful project, and Chatbase was a great platform to have settled on.

Pros

Easy to use and implement on Wordpress. Clear instructions on how to set it up and train. The dashboard on the backend was easy to navigate and work my way around. The Chatbot replies were fast, with very little waiting time.

Cons

I didn't find enough documentation for understanding how best to train the bot we built. It took a while to find a support option, which was pretty good once I found it. Would have liked tutorials to work through

We are generally satisfied with the product. If you could better support certain features such as multilingualism, you would have us as a long-term customer!

Pros

Configuring, integrating and rolling out the chat is effortless!

Cons

I feel a bit left alone as a customer. Support and documentation are missing or a bit short. What bothers us most is that we can't use the chatbot in multiple languages. This is primarily about the welcome text. Multilingualism is one of the most important functions for us, as we would rather not use several chatbots running in parallel. furthermore, it would be important for us to be able to export the entire chat log with our "corrections". this would allow us to train a new chatbot quickly. in addition, the log would serve us as a backup. What happens if we delete a chatbot mistakenly? all the work is lost. We spend a lot of time on the “revise user” function. That's why we should be able to export the corrected chat history at any time.

pretty good, but i would like to see more options:- I would like to be able to embed the conversations & leads page on my webpage so my customers can use it directly without them knowing that i'm using chatbase for it.- Customizable chatbox color instead of black/white- Variable degrees of access for account managers- Invoices - adapt starting language to IP location- 2FA for login- Personal branding on the chat windows "Built by ..."- the ability to move bots to other accounts

overall i really like the ease of use and how the bot interacts with users queries

Cons

The lack of conversation structure, it's just a conversation bot but i would like to have an option where -if a users shows a certain intent- i can extract more variables than just name, email and phone number.

In our company the Chatbot is used as a tool for our salesman to quickly get recommendations for certain situations quick.

Pros

The pricing is great for what you get, the amount of data that you could fill your Chatbot with is extensive and ofcourse its very easy to use!

Cons

Lack of customization. Like the ability to change font, and parts like the ability to download your discussion as a user is not available and also a disclaimer window would be nice to have, especially good for companies to inform its users.

I've used Chatbase to train a Virtual Mark Twain Chatbot using various sources of free information on Mark Twain, and it worked great. I'm also using it as my website's bot. I can change or update information by removing a page or document from the list of training content, and then re-uploading new content.

Pros

It is straight forward to set and train.

Cons

I haven't had any negative experiences to speak of with Chatbase. It's easy, and it works great.

Overall it is a very easy-to-use tool with great benefits.

Pros

I love how quickly I was able to provide it information and then be able to have an intelligent conversation about it with the information provided. We use this on our website to answer questions for a customer using the data from the website. We also use it on our support site and our internal knowledge base.

Cons

Our internal knowledgebase uses Google Sites and it is restricted by our company domain for internal use only. Would really like to be able to give Chatbase access to the site to crawl it to make updating information a lot easier. Right now I have to extract all the information into a pdf and this prevents Chatbase from being able to provide URL reference to the page with more information on it.

It's a powerful tool to summarize thousands of pages and help to find relevant information in simple and quick ways.

Pros

We have integrated this tool within our Brainstorm website, and on the user forum, we trained the bot on hundreds of pages.Now, the bot is helping us answer specific questions for our community and even generate some code (not always correct).We set a daily/weekly report, where we receive a summary of the discussion, which is a great feature we like.

Cons

We trained the model using the ChatGPT 3.5 and with chatGPT 4 and we don't understand why the model 4 is not working, most of the time the answers are wrong or even no answered. We wanted to contact the support to check this issue.

Its really been fantastic. Anyone internally we've provided the chatbot to, has only positive things to say about it.

Pros

We've been using chatbase as a tool to help internal employees on knowledge of our own software. After feeding it information about the software and setting parameters on how it should behave, it now acts as a knowledgeable technical support agent. We can expand upon this in so many ways, with the ability to have multiple chatbots, you can feed it marketing material and use it on your company website. The options ar enedless with a little creativity!

Cons

The interface on the back end could be easier to work with. For example, its not readily apparent where lead email addresses are stored.Would also be great to have others on a "team" who can look at the chatbase data without being able to modify it.

Overall, I think it's a decent option for companies who have a lot of valuable content and looking for way to deliver that content in a more innovative and conversational style.

Pros

The ease of use and quick deployment was key to me since we were trying to test the concept of having a chat bot trained on our custom knowledge base. We were able to deliver values very quickly with ChatBase.

Cons

The pricing is a little steep if you want to remove the branding.

After we found out that they are not supporting more than 11 million characters, we cancelled the subscription, but they refused to refund us, even though we used it for 24 hours.

Pros

Easy setup and implementation of the product.

Cons

Allows only to load 11 million characters. There is no ability to upgrade to a higher level with higher capacity. AI implementations require enough data to get good answers.

I am qualifying customers for insurance. I am also helping business coaches with a follow up bot so there is a resource for clients when the coach is not available.

Pros

I really like how many ways you can train the chat bot. It makes it a much more robust program.

Cons

It forgets the training on some important things it has been trained on. This is a challenge when trying to communicate with leads.

I will most likely switch to Aminos when they finish thier upgrades as it is a very good product and the price was locked it, it feels like the Chatbase cost keeps on increasing more than I can keep up with.

We are trying to use Chatbase to act as a funnel to capture travel recommendations and help women travel plan. So far, Chatbase has seemed like the best option for us. With quick reformatting of our data, it seems to pull it in (mostly) correctly. Some tweaks still need ironing out. It would be great if your FAQ page was slightly more detailed.

Pros

The ease of use. I have no background in AI / chatbots and I picked it up very quickly. Your customer support team are great too.

Cons

Sometimes it can be really hard to work out how best to feed it info or ask questions for it to behave how you want it to be. With time and practice, I'm sure it will come.

The benefits of GPT Trainer over Chatbase felt like things we'd eventually be able to get Chatbase to replicate (mostly formatting things.)

Pros

I love being able to create different chatbots.

Cons

It would be nice if there was more customization around the suggested responses. I want to suggest responses later in the conversation, and recommend different responses based on what the users say and how the conversation is going.
