EngineRoom is very user centric. Pros I have been using EngineRoom for the past five years, and it is an outstanding product for supporting continuous improvement initiatives. It is much more than a powerful data analysis tool; it also helps structure the thinking process required to move effectively from problem definition to solution. Compared to other products, EngineRoom is highly user-friendly, with very intuitive navigation. Customer support is excellent, and the overall support structure is outstanding. Additional information is easy to find, and the free webinars offered by MoreSteam are both practical and valuable. Data management within EngineRoom is straightforward and provides a clear overview. A significant advantage is that EngineRoom does not require installation on company servers and runs entirely via the web. This eliminates dependence on local IT departments, which can often slow down implementation. The cost of EngineRoom is favorable compared to competing solutions, and the seamless integration with MoreSteam’s training programs is a major benefit. Finally, EngineRoom is continuously evolving, with new features added on a regular basis. One example is the interactive help function “Hexie”, which I find particularly useful. The adaption period was short and easy for me since the structure is clear. But it will require a bit of a different way of thinking. Like most with a Lean Six Sigma background, I learned using Minitab. I was introduced to EngineRoom when a client used MoreSteam's other products and have been using both Minitab and EngineRoom for years side by side depending on what my clients use. For new and experienced users, EngineRoom is just better from a cost, feature, ease of use, quality of output standpoint. Pros \- Conclusions for many of statistical tests like hypothesis testing are written out in plain language (Reject/Fail to Reject Null hypothesis) with the statistical results (p values) so it confirms what you think the conclusion should be. THIS IS A HUGE PLUS in case you haven't run the tool in a while or are a new user learning the tool for the first time. Minitab assistant menu has some of this but not enough -Similarly, it helps check the assumptions about the data being used for the study as part of the analysis. - Comprehensive suite of graphical, statistical, process mapping, process modeling tools all in one - Well suited to process improvement and process re-design work - A LOT less expensive than Minitab - Very responsive to changes, questions, suggestions about new tools and features Cons \- Not really a con- but the interface uses a drag and drop method to add your data to the study/graph/analysis versus finding the column of data in a list and double clicking to add it. A little intimidating at first but with practice was able to make better decisions.
