### "Top-Tier Data Analysis Tool at a Fair Price "

July 15, 2026

5.0

EngineRoom is a well-rounded platform that delivers strong performance across the board. Inclusion of lean Six Sigma tools and DMAIC design makes it very efficient for continuous improvement. It is highly recommended for anyone doing regular data work whi wants reliability without a steep learning curve or a steep price tag.

Pros

Very reasonable pricing for the features it provides. The team is responsive and helpful every time I've reached out. Learning curve is gentle. Interface is clean and logically laid out. It handles everything from basic descriptive stats to more advanced stats smoothly with reliable and accurate output. Importing, cleaning and organising data is straightforward. Dashboard builder is a standout. Easy to create clear, professional visualisations in short time.

Cons

No serious negatives. Honestly, it takes a short time to adapt to the interface as a beginner user as it is for any other software.

### "EngineRoom: More Than a Data Tool—A Complete Continuous Improvement Platform”"

April 2, 2026

5.0

Very user-friendly, good support structure, reliable software, helpful features, full integration with MoreSteam training programs and their simulation software. EngineRoom is very user centric.

Pros

I have been using EngineRoom for the past five years, and it is an outstanding product for supporting continuous improvement initiatives. It is much more than a powerful data analysis tool; it also helps structure the thinking process required to move effectively from problem definition to solution. Compared to other products, EngineRoom is highly user-friendly, with very intuitive navigation. Customer support is excellent, and the overall support structure is outstanding. Additional information is easy to find, and the free webinars offered by MoreSteam are both practical and valuable. Data management within EngineRoom is straightforward and provides a clear overview. A significant advantage is that EngineRoom does not require installation on company servers and runs entirely via the web. This eliminates dependence on local IT departments, which can often slow down implementation. The cost of EngineRoom is favorable compared to competing solutions, and the seamless integration with MoreSteam’s training programs is a major benefit. Finally, EngineRoom is continuously evolving, with new features added on a regular basis. One example is the interactive help function “Hexie”, which I find particularly useful.

Cons

If you are used to software of the competition is takes a bit of effort to get used to EngineRoom...which is understandable since it is a different product. The adaption period was short and easy for me since the structure is clear. But it will require a bit of a different way of thinking.

Experience has been excellent in learning lean sigma tools that can do in minutes that would take hours in Google Sheet or Excel

Pros

User tech support by email is very responsive Toolset is extremely helpful for small lean sigma projects The simulation tool is amazing for as-is & to-be process modeling The new & well-intentioned "Wexie" AI helper chatbot is sometimes accurate; and often directionally correct.

Cons

User Interface \[UI\] is buggy; data sets need to be small; additional preprocessing is often needed in Google Sheet or Excel

### "Powerful Tool For Data Analysis And Process Improvement"

July 13, 2026

5.0

Overall, My experience with EngineRoom was positive. It provide the tools I needed to analyze data, monitor performance and support process improvement projects effectively. Although there was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning. The software became easier to use over time. It helped me work more efficiently and generate clear data driven insight.

Pros

I liked most about EngineRoom was how it brought all the key analysis and process improvement tools together in one place. It made it much easier to visualize data, identify trends and make informed decisions without switching between multiple applications. The interface was straightforward and the reporting features helped me present results clearly to my team.

Cons

I liked least about EngineRoom was that some of the advanced features took time to learn. While the software is powerful. The interface can a little bit overwhelming for new users and customizing reports or analyses sometimes required extra effort. Once I became familiar with it, Though it was much easier to use.

### "Robust, intuitive, a great value"

January 28, 2026

5.0

My experience has been excellent. EnginRooms suite of tools are robust enough to support substantial analytical work, including DOE, yet the platform remains intuitive and offers helpful prompts for new users. It delivers exceptional value.

Pros

As a Lean Six Sigma trainer and coach, I value how EngineRoom is designed to guide a user through their problem-solving journey. The tool selection suggestions for each stage of DMAIC are right on point.

Cons

Like many browser‑based applications, it has a few usability quirks. At times, browser settings may need adjustment to display all interface options. I’d also welcome future enhancements that make exporting visualizations more seamless.

### "Engineroom. A modern upgrade from Minitab."

August 5, 2025

5.0

We are very happy that we made the switch from Minitab to Engineroom because of the better cost and it's integration with Traction.

Pros

Engineroom is extremely user friendly and is very straightforward for our project owners to use. The support team is very helpful as well.

Cons

There is not much to list as far as cons for Engineroom. It is very well integrated with Traction. It is not user customizable which might be an issue for some.

### "A Utility Tool that gets you places - Engine Room"

August 6, 2025

5.0

An overall excellent experience with the tool and I would highly recommend it to aspiring corporates/collogues. I've gained much more deeper insights on the uniquely designed tools and features and helps a lot in my professional path.

Pros

Engine room is a one-stop solution with value for money solutions for the corporates. It enables Lean Six Sigma tool, seamlessly embedded in Excel or through a cloud‑based mechanism, well suited for DMAIC and other improvement methodologies A super useful tool to the highly motivated engineers to collaborate and enhance effectiveness

Cons

I feel it needs a bit more enhancements in the data dashboards, although the learning curve designed on the tool is very effective to precisely understand and obtain data analysis Not yet used the dashboard data feature, but it seems to be not much eye catching for first time users.

### "Great features and very user friendly. "

July 29, 2025

5.0

Overall experience was good., I will love to continue using it. This software is much user friendly and feature rich as compared to other statistical softwares.

Pros

It has almost all the functions needed for statistical analysis. Much easier to perform the analysis than using excel or other softwares. It also asks for the particular data needed for the required for the analysis, feature not seen in other softwares.

Cons

I do not have a lot of cons to list. My overall experience was positive. Only thing I can mention is that it takes some time to learn. But once learned, it is quite easy.

### "Overall use of EngineRoom"

February 16, 2024

5.0

Very good. Especially the Technical support.

Pros

EngineRoom is specifically designed for Six Sigma and more. This makes using the software easy to lecture and train.

Cons

Actually nothing. In the beginning of 2019, I started using EngineRoom and found that there were a few thigs EngineRoom did not provide e.g., Response Optimiser etc. However, in the 5 years I've been using the EngineRoom the software has developed very well.

Cost. The MiniTab cost became inaccessible for individuals, and I had to pay the students price even though I was bringing up to 30 students a year to MiniTab.

### "Take your process improvement to the next level"

November 13, 2023

5.0

It hasn't been intuitive for me; however, persevering through the learning curve has made it my go-to application when faced with challenges greater than trivial. The MoreSteam team bends over backwards to provide support and opportunities to sharpen one's skills (I particularly appreciate "Modeling Mondays," short worked out examples of different Process Playground models featuring techniques for building specific functionalities). Overall, it's been a real find and a valuable addition to my bag of tricks.

Pros

I like three things about EngineRoom compared to other packages. First, it's a comprehensive set of process improvement tools all seamlessly integrated into one package. Second, it's well supported by on-demand tutorials and training webinars. Lastly, it includes Process Playground - a discrete event simulator useful in building a digital twin of your processes and systems. There are insights about your business you just can't gather any other way.

Cons

There's a pretty steep learning curve to understanding how all the bits and pieces work together. In addition, becoming competent with Process Playground requires an intermediate level of familiarity with statistical distributions and systems engineering concepts. This is not to say it's out of reach for the casual user; however, you have to really want it.

### "Love the Process Modeling"

January 17, 2024

5.0

I'm pretty happy with EngineRoom. While I only use a few of the tools it performs well for what I need it for. I utilize it for data analysis and process work. I've been able to use a few other items like the affinity diagrams and raci matrix to help inform my team, but the powerhouse of the software is for sure in the statistics tools and process mapping. The regular improvements and updates made to the software are also impressive. I like not having to download new versions all the time.

Pros

My favorite, and arguably one of the most valuable aspects to EngineRoom, is Process Playground. The Process Modeling and Mapping software is really helpful in being able to map out processes, breakdown customer flow, and understand the supply and demand needed in given areas. Being able to visualize process problems really helped us anticipate our needs better.

Cons

I think some of the dashboard areas could be enhanced. The Data sidebar can get messy with too many data sources. I like that I can put projects into folders, I would like to be able to do that for data sources as well.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing EngineRoom

### "Uncover Process Improvement Potential Through Data Visualization"

August 6, 2025

5.0

I used EngineRoom during the Lean Six Sigma course and successfully completed all exercises. The biggest value for me was how the charts visually supported my understanding of the course material—even the more complex topics like statistical analysis. The user interface and chart visualization were so effective that they inspired me to propose improvement ideas for our company. I’ve already shared these suggestions with our managers, as I see strong potential for added value.

Pros

User experience, data analysis, and the learning curve are the best terms to describe my experience with EngineRoom. Once I got oriented, it became nearly intuitive to prepare new charts, explore different options, and achieve great results with just a few clicks. It felt like stepping into a new dimension of process and data understanding.

Cons

When I saw EngineRoom for the first time, I was about to give up—it felt overwhelming. But after spending about 8 minutes reading the starting instructions, I was able to get into it and continue improving my skills. The initial learning curve was steep, but the guidance helped me move forward.

### "Engine Room - A Software Conducive for an Optimal Virtual Learning Experience "

October 29, 2024

5.0

The EngineRoom is the wave of the future for virtual training, which our students agreed was conducive to allow them the flexibility of completing their required sessions timely, along with meeting their work responsibilities and duties.

Pros

There are many aspects of the Engine Room that are essential for optimal project completion such as utilizing key lean tools within the application, statistical and data analytics, process mapping and videos to enhance the overall learning experience. The most enjoyable part of EngineRoom is the ease of use within the software which is very important for virtual learning.

Cons

### "EngineRoom: My Take"

October 28, 2024

5.0

I appreciate the mission behind creating EngineRoom. The input features make the program much more efficient compared to its competitors. Although there is a learning curve for inputting the data, simplifying the process of complex calculations for the hard statistics problems were helpful.

Pros

Calculations and functions for manual data input and analysis are more seamless than what I experience using excel and minitab spreadsheets. (e.g. categorizing in prompts/D.M.A.I.C.)

Cons

When identifying spreadsheets, it divides the data into sets of "variables", so picking and laying out the data you need to find what you're looking can often times be tricky (especially if you don't realize you chose the wrong variable(s))

### "EngineRoom is more than just a training package"

May 1, 2024

5.0

After going through a training class, I repeatedly ran into things in my projects that were easier to do through EngineRoom. I even had to reference something I did in EngineRoom a year later and it was still there and easily accessible. While I know I don't use all of it's functionality, and I could probably even use it more than I do, I am glad I have it at my disposal when I do need it.

Pros

The various functions are already set up and ready to sort the data. The main functionality needed for a good analysis of the data is right there in a ribbon and easy to access. The data is easy to sort through if you take the time to label things for future reference.

Cons

Due to the nature of statistical analysis, if you don't have a little bit of training in that field, you will be confused and feel lost as you go through some of the functions. There are also some limitations built in due to the expectation for printing or use intent. When I have tried to adapt a tool for something it wasn't explicitly designed for, it doesn't always come out the way I wanted.
