July 30, 2025 5.0 We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Engine Room for conducting an excellent course on Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) for our team of mechanical engineers. The product Engine Room is one of the good launches for Engineers to deeply understand crucial topics. The toolroom is well-structured, insightful, and highly relevant to our day-to-day engineering challenges. The interactive sessions, case studies, and hands-on tools provided throughout the course have significantly enhanced our problem-solving capabilities and process optimization mindset. I am already seeing improvements in how I approach design validation and customer-centric development. Pros Case to case detailed analytic solving guide, perfectly relevant examples and on the ego use of specific tools. It helped us build a Customer-Centric Design mindset. It reduces variation and defects by using statistical and analytical tools during design. It built a Data-Driven Decision-Making practice in us with the use of tools like QFD, FMEA, DOE, and Monte Carlo simulation to support informed engineering decisions. Seems to be a Value for Money for large organizations to train young minds. Cons Limited Customization: Certain templates and dashboards did not allow enough flexibility for tailoring to specific organizational workflows or reporting formats. The UI felt a bit dated or less intuitive to encourage complete and collaborative involvement. Integration with external databases, ERP systems, or real-time data sources felt limited or required manual input/export processes. Could not readily find a customer support link for quick addressal of a challenge. Cons There are a few advanced data features for DOE or regression analysis that I understand are "in progress", but I would like to see them now available. Pros You can't beat the price for the content. Not only statistical analyses but also LSS tools. Then process playground to come along for the ride makes it a slam dunk purchase. Although there was a bit of a learning curve at first, I found it effective and helpful for applying Lean Six Sigma concepts in practical ways. Pros What I liked most about EngineRoom was how it supported my learning during the Green Belt course. The platform made it much easier to understand key concepts and apply tools directly to real-world examples, which really helped me develop my skills. Cons What I liked least about EngineRoom was that sometimes it took a little time to get used to the different features and functionalities. The ability to visually see data through charts and graphs was especially helpful in strengthening my understanding of the course material—even when working through more advanced topics like statistical analysis. The intuitive interface and clear visualizations assisted me and my classmates with a greater understanding. Pros Very easy to use and intuitive, and the visual management is outstanding. I like that you can do everything with this EngineRoom instead of using multiple types of software. Cons I am unable to think of any cons of using EngineRoom. Pros Engineroom provides great value for money, I grew up using Minitab which was no longer affordable for my company and so far I have been pleased with my experience with EngineRoom. As a long time Minitab user, the learning curve is likely higher than it would be for a newbie because I continue to think the way I previously worked but it has still been quite easy to learn and use for my data analysis needs. I also enjoy how it provides other Lean Six Sigma tools to make my job easier! Cons There are gaps that I am still getting used to compared to Minitab. Lots of tools but not all of my favorite tools and logging in for me is a nuisance, often having to reset password. As someone who was used to using stats within a network without log in, that's been a con for me. For someone not used to a networked tool or better as tracking passwords or who uses it daily, probably not a big deal. It is helpful particular in DFSS. The DFSS is recommended using EngineRoom to avoid rework in the later part of product cycle. Pros I liked most about EngineRoom is the Data Analysis Tools like DOE, Regression and Monte Carlo Simulation. You can use the VOC tools and convert the customer needs to requirements and validate your design using the above tools effectively.
