Using the RAS downtime solution has been a benefit for St. Joseph's as we have monthly scheduled events. Users are able to recover from the downtimes in less amount of time which helps a smoother workflow process for getting patients into the system quicker.

Pros

After implementing the RAS downtime solution we cut our downtime recovery process drastically. We have also been able to minimize the amount of split records since the EMPI information is available when selecting patients. This has also helped with ensuring we capture and recover all downtime registrations and visits.

Cons

The inability to have real bed board tracking to allow for easy use of moving and easily tracking patients for an extended down time.

Reasons for choosing Downtime Solutions

Since St. Joseph's did not have an electronic downtime solution, we partnered with DB Technology to help develop a downtime solution.

By enabling staff to seamlessly input and store data, the solution significantly shortened the time needed for recovery. Previously, our organization used to require numerous hours to recover for each hour of downtime. However, with Downtime Solutions, this downtime was significantly diminished. This substantial decrease in recovery time directly leads to cost reductions and heightened operational effectiveness. Staff members can swiftly return to their duties, minimizing interruptions and maximizing productivity.

Pros

By integrating Downtime Solution into our disaster recovery strategy it has helped minimize the effects of outages and in turn provide continuous delivery of high-quality patient care.

Cons

This product has nothing to dislike about this product. Downtime Solutions has given our organization a feeling of security in case of downtime.

It was a very good experience. DB is very customer savvy, they are open to customizations to meet the needs of their customers and are great partners for any organization.

Pros

At SJH, we already had Ras in place and the users were very familiar with it. The system is very user friendly and training needed was minimal. The solution was a standalone solution with servers available in house and not dependent upon outside web, internet or cloud services in order to run. The cost of the solution was accommodating for the budget yet the feature functionality was robust and rich.

Cons

As development partners for the solution, it took more time than expected to get the application where we needed it and implemented.
