Pros It is easy to use and produces unique visual descriptions. It is not the boxy graphics that a person tries to create in MicroSoft PowerPoint. Cons Nothing. The key to success with SketchWow is to know what you want to get accross to the viewer. Then you can have fun turning that idea into a creative visual. They really live to their promise about no payments for upgrades, and they are always improving the software. I also appreciate that they answer customer emails and listen to feedback. They were very fast to integrate AI features, which was important for me. Also, the extra libraries and features for purchase are affordable and useful. Pros SketchWow is very intuitive and easy to use. I like that it helps me to think visually and put ideas together fast. The icons are nice, and it is very easy to import images and SVG files. The AI features are also useful for drafting and ideation. For me, it is a good software for systems thinkers because it helps to create visuals, connect ideas, and understand things better. Cons What I like least is that very polished or advanced diagrams are not really possible here. Took me too long to learn how to use and I am a fast learner! Pros Cheap I guess? I didn’t really like anything else about it Cons Literally everything. I can’t believe every positive review is real. The software is clunky and has an awful user experience. You can’t open more than 1 window so good luck trying to copy stuff from one file to another! The templates are so limited and barely have anything canva doesn’t and they are so cluttered and awful. Basically unusable for any of my word. I even use it as a whiteboard in my team meetings, and then just publish the results in the meeting group. It is the best drawing software I have used. I can express myself perfectly. May 29, 2026 4.0 When I bought SketchWow, I went all in, since they had a money back guarantee. There was a weird thing with the payment system so I ended up paying twice for one component. I sent a message and within 24 hours the \[sensitive content hidden\] of the company had responded to me and I got a refund for that portion. I know that subscriptions to things like Photoshop are very expensive, and they are ridiculously difficult to use for someone like me that is not creative, and just wants a tool for designing projects. SketchWow is quick to learn and easy to use. If you want to use a template to map something like a process or a timeline, there are in-built templates to use. You can use the AI tool to generate a load of examples, and you can select one or more and edit them from there. At this stage I wouldn't use it to design a slide deck for a presentation, but it is really easy to export objects to another program for making a presentation. Pros As a teacher and researcher with no creative talent whatsoever, sketchwow makes it very easy to make engaging, visually appealing graphics and presentations. It is very easy to use and there is a wide range of templates available that AI can fill in, but are fully modifiable. Cons Some fot he capabilities aren;t quite there yet, like making charts and graphs, but the team is very responsive to feedback, so I think this will improve soon. In the meantime, it is easy enough to create the graphic (e.g. a chart) in excel or PowerPoint and import it into SketchWow to get it matching the style you're going for. Review Source Katy M. However, I keep finding new uses for it and enjoy making fun images that people are able to understand and enjoy reading. Pros I've owned and used SketchWow for a couple of years now. I bought it originally to solve a specific need, which it did well. What impresses me is the continual value this company adds to the software. They just released V3.0 and have made the software even more intuitive and easy to use. I used Canva regularly and love it. However, it's not easy to produce images that are less formal and more fun. SketchWow fills that need and is continuing to find new ways to adapt as technology changes, including having AI features. Their pricing makes the purchase a no-brainer! I highly recommend them. I Cons The software \*used to be\* a little "clunky" and non-intuitive. Took a little time to figure things out. Support is great and they take their "lifetime" purchase seriously. Unlike many products like this they have never tried to upsell "new or improved" versions. In fact after years I still get free upgrades when available. I integrity in the software business!! Pros Made building complicated infographics easy (something I would have been able to do otherwise). It was easy to learn and a major time saver. Cons Not really much to not like about it. Pros I love that it makes it easy to bring ideas to life, and the UI is really friendly and easy to learn but it has the possibility to get advanced results the deeper you delve into the app. It has great customer support, and the mailing list is one of the best. My brands are colorful and fun, so SketchWow is a great alternative to PowerPoint. I had some questions, and they responded promptly. Cons I expected to have a little more flexibility with animation. I've downloaded one gif, and it doesn't act outside of SketchWow like it did in the software. I was hoping to find an active user group on Facebook, but the only one I found doesn't have much going on. It would be nice if they created an official user group and participated. You can also use them to get inspiration for your own designs. Cons It can sometimes be awkward to use because the interface is not similar to other design tools that I use. I can't think of another piece of software that I can say that about. I normally shy away from lifetime deals as have been burned with them before, but not-so with Sketch Wow, they seem to go from strength-to-strength and aren't going anywhere! Pros Sketch Wow produces those cute hand-drawn style of graphics that tend to get LOADS more engagement than something more polished. Plus it's drag-and-drop easy to use, so sketches can be run-up in no time. I would argue it should be part of any marketer or course makers toolkit. Cons I'm struggling to find something I don't like about it, but something missing - as far as I know - is a template marketplace. The range of templates covers everything you can possibly want, so even if you struggle with the conceptual part of the design, a very advanced starting point is easily available to you. The animation functions recently introduced take this app to yet another level. I cannot think of a single fault or issue I have had since signing up a couple of years ago. I find that 'audiences' appreciate something that looks a bit different and less formulaic that the standard PPT stuff, and SketchWow hits this mark brilliantly. Pros It is innovative, very easy to use, and adds an extra dimension to all manner of presentation/information projects. The software is incredibly well-supported and there are frequent free updates. January 31, 2025 5.0 SketchWow is updated with good frequency, and support was nearly instant when we needed to move to new computers. Pros SketchWow is aptly named. It is a serious desktop tool for creating infinite design variations in dozens of categories, like infographics, mind maps, technical, process maps (my favorite), and animations that are amazing. The AI tool creates Flowcharts, MindMaps, Simple Sketches, Visual Summaries, and Infographics - all from your simple prompts. The interface is clean and simple and conducive to our fast pace in curating daily news with added original illustrations. AI features run on our OpenAI API key - a great feature that means we are not running out of credits or over paying for them. Pros Easy to use program that has many applications such as quickly adding a text bubble to a photo, all kinds of flowcharts and diagrams (which are easy to make using the available templates), infographics, even animated videos, wireframes, and more. The tool gets frequent free updates. Cons No issues that I can think of particularly. It is worth noting that the tool is frequently updated. I would love to have the AI templates mirror the premade templates already found in the software. Also, It would be nice to be able to provide already made text that can auto placed into any of the templates whether it's AI or not. Many times I don't need AI to create the copy it's more about placement. More Icons would be nice or the ability to use an Ipad so I can draw the icons myself. They SCREAM computerised, over-perfect, sanitised, boring and dull. Death by Slidedeck style! But with SketchWOW you would be hard pushed to spot that ANY computer got anywhere near your beautiful drawings. It all looks totally hand drawn, organic, alive and fully engaging. But given that LOTS of computer smarts lives in the background to achieve this in a digital place, you’re getting the best of both worlds! Have your cake, eat it too! Tuck in! Cons Only in a minor way, the learning curve. It’s not really that steep, but it does take some getting used to.
