### "Opus saves us time and money"

The customer support has been really great. Their speed of development is great too.

Pros

Opus really helped us save hours of time booking appointments and scale up to another level of growth. We had software in the past that combined the calendar and billing, but could only generate invoices. This meant we spent a significant amount of time chasing down invoices. Sometimes lessons were taken without being paid for yet. Having integrated texting in the account really helps as well. The student name pops up with each text message and is tied to the account. This saves a HUGE amount of time. We also can use opus to manage our recitals well.

Cons

Opus is powerful and has a lot of options this is great because it allows us to run the school the way we want to. It would be helpful to have more flexibility around billing automation though. We want our unused lesson credits to rollover every month. Occasionally students struggle to book their lesson on mobile phones. They can self book, but there is room for improvement here. Especially when our teachers have busy schedules, there should be a button asking "Need help?" to initiate a text. Sometimes customers think they scheduled a lesson on mobile, but they haven't completed the checkout process. Perhaps a clear progress bar at the TOP of the mobile booking page would help with this. The billing can get really confusing with credits, refunds, discounts etc. Would be great to have more clarity around how billing is done so everyone can do it.

The best platform we've used. It does so much and has great support. It's able to scale as we grow and constantly getting better.

Pros

It works well for both our group classes and private lessons. The self booking is key for us. We like how the communication can be in one place (text and voicemail). It helps our admin staff with communication.

Cons

I wish the promotions for sessions could be set for specific classes or payment plans. Promotions work great for the private classes but not as well for groups (opus1 plus)

Overall, this has been a great investment for our music school. The tech support team is incredible. They are patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. It’s always a pleasure to work with them no matter how “silly” my question might be.

Pros

Opus1.io has revolutions our service to customers AND our service to staff members. Having an almost all in one console streamlines communications, billing, scheduling, and so much more. Even better, the system is nearly 100% intuitive!

Cons

The mobile interface could use a bit of improvement. It’s cumbersome to determine how to self-book as a new user. We’ve lost a lot of potential customers due to this. We’ve since removed self-booking from our website and now use lead forms instead. The reporting features are a bit of a hinderance to determining a strategy because we aren’t able to easily extract the information we need.

My experience with Opus1 has been excellent! Best platform for music lesson scheduling from both an admin and student perspective! It even allows you to set up and schedule recitals, including a recital program!

Pros

It's very easy to understand and use, and the team does a wonderful job supporting us! It helps us manage our school's music lessons across multiple students and hundreds of teachers very easily, and it has some great filter features that make reaching out to students and teachers a breeze! I also love the feature to add notes to profiles, which helps our large admin team to give great customer service and make the school feel small and personal to our students and parents!

Cons

There isn't really anything I don't like about Opus1. Compared to the previous scheduling system we were using, Opus1 was a breath of fresh air and allows us to streamline so many of our processes that used to take many different platforms to do.

Very happy overall! Opus has been VERY accommodating of adjusting things for us that fit our own business (versus making us fit our programs/policies) around it! This is huge and allows us to continue to grow our own business while taking advantage of the improvements Opus is continuously making!

Pros

Opus 1 has been a very easy program to not only learn initially, but also to adjust when needed. A lot of my job deals with hiring and adding new teachers to our roster, and being able to onboard them in a quick and efficient manner is very nice for me and my team! Being able to add or adjust a teacher in the system is very easy. I love the texting system, and our company just started taking advantage of the emailing system now as well. It keeps things very streamlined when dealing with automatic emails and updates for parents/students.

Cons

Very occasionally, we notice some issues with the texting (multiple things bouncing back or not going through), but beyond that, everything is mostly smooth! The one complaint (maybe more suggestion) from admins, teachers, and parents/students I often hear would be for Opus to have an actual app for easier access!

Pros

I absolutely love that billing is integrated with Opus1. Prior to using Opus, we were sending invoices manually and it was extremely time consuming - I'd say up to 6 hours a month that has now been saved by using Opus. This allows me more time to focus on bigger-picture things!

Cons

The cost is a bit high, but to be honest it's been worth it overall in time savings and keeping the team organized.

### "No Other Programs Can Compete with Opus1"

From the very beginning, we've been blown away by their attentive and knowledgeable customer service and responsiveness. In fact, Opus1 stands out as a top company when it comes to customer service, and we've worked with a lot of companies over the years. It's always challenging to convert to a new software, but with Opus1, it was easier than any other. I don't know how else to say this, but I just don't believe there are any other softwares at this point who can come close to competing.

Pros

Opus1.io is a one-stop shop for all of our needs as a music school. Everything integrates seamlessly, always functions perfectly, and is lightning fast, even for a schedule holding close to 4,000 students/week. Sam and the team always listen to feedback and work hard to continually improve the software, coming out with frequent updates. Their integrated texting interface and lead follow-up system have been game changers for us. We have used several different software programs in the past, and none have even come close to satisfying our needs and helping us to grow like Opus1.

Cons

Honestly, I can't think of anything. There are never any bugs. The software is always fast and never crashes. It serves all of our needs very well.

Opus1 is the most comprehensive software for Music School Owners I have seen. I love how almost everything we need to do for our music school is inside of one powerful software.

Cons

Compared to other alternatives that are out there, the price is higher than what I've seen. However, I think it can be justified by how much it does.

I really like Opus1. In the beginning, there was a learning curve, but once I fully set up the software it gave me the opportunity to be more hands off. Additionally, I use Opus1 Plus and I love that I can have a CRM built into the same software where I do all of my scheduling.

Pros

The customer support is very responsive. They are also constantly improving their software and taking into consideration the suggestions of their users. Opus1 Plus is also a great feature that I use. It's greaet for keeping track of new inquiries and leading them through your pipeline.

Cons

Only one customizable inquiry/lead form, but I believe this is a feature they are working to improve.

My experience has been wonderful. I can feel the automation really taking the load off of admin work. Having 1 system to handle everything, including phone calls, is key.

Pros

Opus1 offers a lot of customization so that every school can set up their classes and lessons as they see fit. It is comprehensive, including features to streamline work and effectively contact the right people for the right thing. And when you run into a question, the Opus1 team is quickly and easily available to help!

Cons

As Opus1 is so comprehensive, it is a lot to learn upfront - but that can be expected of any big system. Once you learn it, though, it's amazing.

I am very happy with Opus1. It is the 4th calendar I've tried, and although it is 3 times as expensive, it is worth the additional money for the peace of mind knowing that payments go through easily and it is easy to see what is available for new clients.

Pros

Easy to read, automatic charges, instant customer support. Now I'm just filling it up to meet your minimum.

Cons

A pain to add blocked time. Again, annoyed that I have to say a lot to give you a review. this is it.

It transformed our music lesson business. It's built with the music studio business in mind and we love how it's constantly taking in feedback and actually taking steps to continually improve and add features. We've been using them for several years now and it literally gets better and better.

Cons

It's hard to find anything to dislike about Opus1. The only gripe is actually a testament to the quality of the program. Which is that it was once being mentioned as a competitive advantage to switch is not anymore because we're seeing studios down the street from us using it also.

It takes weeks to pick it up. But once you get there, you will be totally with it. Besides, it is updating a lot with the development of this business so you can always find the functions you are looking for.

Only for music school, and focus on everything music school needs. The calendar management, the flexible calculation of invoice, the holding function and the payroll functions.

Cons

A friend who runs successful music schools in Salt Lake City told me. By that time I was trying other software and she said it's gonna be opus 1.

Overall, the team has been wonderful to work with and I've had no huge issues. Any small issue we've run into has quickly been answered by their team!

Pros

Simple to use, the schedule layout is wonderful and flexible! The client profile is unique and a great way to glance quickly to understand a students schedule, previous schedule conflicts, and a great place to list notes. The bonus of having a texting platform directly in Opus that connects to everyones profiles is wonderful, including the email campaign options.

Cons

Personally haven't run into many things I dislike about the program. One addition would be having the color options of coloring staff profiles to one color scheme, enrolled students another, withdrawn/closed accounts another.

It has been absolutely life changing for my studio and of course myself! I have been able to focus more on acquiring students and less on day to day management. We have been able to grow our studio 30% in the last year. We could have never done this without Opus1.

Pros

There are many things I love about Opus1.io but what I like most is the robust scheduling options, the automation of notifications, and the client interaction with the software. Among many other features as well.

Cons

I would like to see session scheduling as easy as private lessons. It seems a little cumbersome compared to lesson scheduling.

Premium migration was fantastic and ongoing communications with the team is excellent, so highly recommend overall!

Pros

Amazing load speed, clean and clear design, very responsive tech support, and most important for us: the ability to know exactly how many students are actively taking lessons.

Cons

Two things that we wish will be available in the future: the ability to split lesson credits into 15 minute increments and the ability to specify for some lessons to be automatically deducted for the upcoming pay cycle.

\- Automations are a GAME CHANGER. Our team used to spend hours on manual follow ups on trials and lessons. No more! Opus1 automates the hardest parts of our day to day tasks, freeing us up to enhance our customer experience. - Reporting is Robust! I love the ability to drill down to specifics, and Opus1 reporting allows me to easily get into the nitty gritty that numbers geeks enjoy. - Customer Service is NEXT LEVEL AWESOME! We were with another well known software prior to moving to Opus1 and for 7 years they refused to listen to our needs and even attempt to understand why/how their software missed the mark, they just didn't care, to the point that it would often take a month to even get a response from them. :( Opus1 is there for you in an instant! They listen to us, ask for the use case, and work WITH US to develop workarounds to get us what we need if its not already there and/or actively make plans to help implement the feature you need. - Self-Booking Portal. While most booking softwares have a self-booking option, they don't have the booking optimization that Opus1 offers. This helps ensure that our teacher's schedules are without gaps/breaks between students. The Self-booking Portal also gives us an active calendar view for all prospective students coming in.

\- Sales Tax Reporting is terrible...but THEY ACTIVELY ARE WORKING ON IT! - Calendar missing a horizontal scroll bar.

MyMusicStaff has the WORST customer service ever and is truly built for smaller studios. We outgrew its capabilities and were tiresome of the amount of manual work we had to do to run a successful studio. JackRabbit is sooooo close to being a really terrific software but the reality is, it's not a software for private lessons and using it as such is cumbersome.

Opus 1 has a robust set of features for running day to day operations pretty much as smoothly as one could want. Their chat customer service is 2nd to none! Implementing Opus 1, with its built in automation features, ease of use, and customer convenience has contributed to enrollment growth and student retention at our studio. I HIGHLY recommend!

Cons

Reporting features are not well thought through or intuitively implemented. Custom reports, which I would use almost daily, are mostly non-existent. Opus 1 has been making improvements over time, but reporting is still quite lacking. The Opus 1 knowledge base is also extremely lacking. It's very difficult to search and find answers for specific questions. However, as mentioned above, their chat service is extraordinary.

Overall it made the job a lot less repetitive and helps with resolving issues around the lessons while not being tied down to redundant tasks.

Pros

As an admin, canceling and rescheduling last minute notices took a lot of time and pressure off my plate.

Cons

Noticed a small bug where the messages are sent out of order if some actions are done quickly one after another. Also it is quite hard to import a list of contacts.

Pros

I like that I’m able to communicate with administrators and parents. Everyone can see the comments.

Pros

Relatively smooth setup. Feature rich. Frequent version upgrades. Customer support is second to none.

Cons

Missing robust email and autoresponder functionality (although I know it's coming).

I love the customer service and the product. Opus is always updating and adding new features to remain the best scheduling service.

Pros

Opus features are easy to use. We can train all our staff quickly because the website is user friendly. There is no room for user error when it comes to billing mistakes with Opus - everything is set up correctly and done well!

Cons

We don't love the group class - Sessions. It is not easy to book make ups within a session or change the schedule like you can with other private lessons.

Overall, our experience has been excellent. Opus1.io has made running our music school easier and has been a key driver in helping us grow better and faster. Yes, it's an investment, and yes, there's a learning curve up front — but the platform's flexibility, the constant improvements, the supportive community of fellow music schools, and especially the amazing support team make it absolutely worth it. We'd recommend it to any music school looking to scale.

Pros

The team behind Opus1.io is genuinely fantastic — customer support is hands-down some of the best I've ever experienced. Beyond the product itself, they've done an incredible job building a community among music schools, which has been a real bonus we didn't expect when we signed up. Opus1 has made our day-to-day operations so much easier and has directly helped us grow our business faster than we could have on our own. We've been using it for two years now, and the pace of improvements during that time has been impressive — they're constantly making the platform better.

Cons

Two minor things. First, once you start adding on the various options and modules, the cost adds up and it does become pricey — though honestly, it's still worth it for what we get back. Second, there's a bit of a learning curve during setup, but I see that as the trade-off for how versatile the platform is. The UI is intuitive and easy to use day-to-day, even if it looks a little dated. Not a real issue for us.

### "Opus1 is a wonderful comprehensive software"

Overrall this platform give us a direct connection with our students and families that we did not have before. The students/families have overwhelming and consistently reported how much they love the new system. They can keep track of the calendar, invoices, and notes from the teacher all in one place. It's made invoicing, payments, scheduling easier and automatic which have saved a great deal of time and eased any duplications or double payments. We can also send out newsletters and run promotions straight from the site which has been a fantastic way to centralize our efforts.

Pros

The system was learning curve for sure, but after you get use to where everything is, what all the button means, and how it all fits in with your business structure but it's definitely been a breaze and worth the investment. We anticipated a 6 months to learn the system but most of the team got it in a month. They have live help that makes things easier in case you forget or something was missed as this software is quite comprehensive. Generally things are easy to find. The process to schedule, reschedule, and cancel lessons and let the parents also have access to that calendar has made things much easier.

Cons

Some things i favored least about Opus1.io are the deisgn on some things and the system does not quite fit what my business structure is. One the scheduling site i've received feedback from customers that it would be nice if the calendar showed you in a color or bigger words where you are on the page. The layout of the booking links arent fully customizable so there's often a lot of blank space where you see an image and the description of the service. Also, a lot of our contractors simply use their cellphone for use of the site but the mobile version of the site is limited to what you can do compared to the desktop version. We pay our contracctors here by a percentage so having to come up with the numbers for pay was tasking as the platform only supports hourly pay and a flat rate. If you use stripe they do not have a surchage option so having to add in the processing fees has been an adjustment for the company and our students.
