We use KeyCafe in a unique way to manage the keys to our fleet of vehicles as well as the keys to our lockboxes for the checking in and out of our bank of Taser X26p devices. We now have a secure way to track this with a solid audit trail. I also appreciate the ability to utilize the remote application for those users with the correct permissions. Pros I think most of our staff members (currently around 100 employees and soon to be expanding to more) find that the system is easy to use. The backend management of keys, groups and employees is very easy to setup and maintain. The simplicity of the system and easy training helped to ensure agency-wide buy in to a workforce that doesn't deal well with technology changes. Cons There were a couple of things that I didn't particularly enjoy. The first is that sometimes the doors get stuck and won't open. This is frustrating and problematic as most of our employees are in a hurry to get their keys and start their day. The KeyCafe support recommended lubricating the doors (which I think helped somewhat). The product was mounted in accordance with the instructions, but the doors need to work every time. This is a known problem as there is a section on the troubleshooting to diagnose this issue. The second issue that I have is that the security permissions are inflexible and limited. I wish there were more granular options for users. There are only a few categories that I feel could be expanded to better fit the needs of our agency. I also wish that the KeyCafe boxes were bigger. From the first contact through setup and installation, everything went smoothly. Both the sales and customer success teams have been friendly and professional. The product works perfectly fine and fits our needs well. Our team and contractors are happy with it, and it has been complimented a lot. Pros We've liked everthing about our experience so far. The people at keycafe are very friendly and professional and the product fits our needs perfectly and works very, very well. It was really easy to get it working and learn how it works, people have no problems understanding it when they first use it. We are now able to track and manage our keys and store them securely. Cons We had a few issues connecting the device at first, but the problem was most likely within our own infrastructure. We are completely satisfied. There was nothing that didn't work. Cons Every bin must say "Close me" because most of people leave the locker open and then, they only put the key there without scan it. The only drawback is that the people who serve as the administrators all use one login because the way the system is set up it creates confusion when individual users are used. Pros ability to know who has keys outstanding. Cons Admin process is not ideal. I initially set our system up and then created additional users with admin roles. They were unable to see any of the keys that I created. Upon reaching out to tech support, I was told that every admin would have to create a key list.
