From the technical quality of the product to the professionalism of their team, they’ve consistently delivered. It’s rare to find a partner that combines strong technology with great customer service, but Smarty has managed to do both. We’re very happy to recommend them. Pros Smarty has been excellent to work with. Their geocoding service delivers strong match rates and fast, reliable results, which has been crucial for servicing our insurance customers in the US. The customer support is outstanding – responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Pricing is transparent and fair, making it easy to scale with confidence. Cons Honestly, very little to fault. The service works as expected, and any questions or issues we’ve raised have been resolved quickly. If anything, we’d love to see even more international coverage in future, but that’s a nice-to-have rather than a drawback. Switched from [HERE](https://www.capterra.com/p/213937/HERE/) We switched from Here because Smarty offered noticeably better match rates and more consistent results for US addresses, which is critical in our insurance use case. The integration was straightforward, and the API performance has been faster and more reliable. June 25, 2025 5.0 I use the US Address Verification API to normalize addresses for search and to determine if the addresses are valid or not. The API just works and it works well. I have been using Smarty APIs for a long time and started using them at my new job immediately because I know how well they work. Pros Smarty is very easy to use and performs extremely well. It does one things and does it very well. I have had no issues at all. Cons I don't think there is much to dislike about Smarty. I honestly can't think of a con. The price maybe if you are on a budget and need to verify a lot of addresses but honestly I think the price is very reasonable, so even that doesn't seem like much of a con. We loved the plug and play approach while still offering deep customization options. The technical documentation was perfect, and contained multiple examples. Their blog was also a plus with a few use cases that were useful. Web implementation was a breeze but it took a bit longer for our mobile app. We've been using smarty for a bit more than a year and had 0 downtime so far, which is definitely reassuring. At this point we are considering sticking with Smarty for the long run, as long as prices remain don't increase in the future. June 26, 2025 5.0 I have used smarty for the last four years and it is intuitive, simple and self explanatory. Getting their API setup was a breeze. Pros Address auto-completion / validation is vital for our real estate marketplace to validate the address of homes online. We deal with all property types and I have not found anyone (including Google) that supports condos as well as Smarty. Cons Auto-complete of addresses is only for places where USPS et al. deliver mail. This is limiting for us since we deal with land parcels that are not developed and our customers cannot find the addresses. My sales rep was helpful and not pushy. He provided good guidance about how I could get the best value from their tiered pricing model. Pros Was very easy to integrate into native mobile apps (iOS and Android). The SDKs were straightforward to use. The documentation was great. I got the iOS implementation done in 2 days! Cons Would like to have some ability to correct addresses that are not deliverable, or at least find out what is wrong with the address so that perhaps I could correct the address myself (e.g., apartment number missing). It is very competitively priced and provides good great value comparing to other providers in this space. Pros Intuitive, well documented API and great and reliable SLAs Cons Prior to release of Rooftop Geocoding functionality, the geocoding was not on par with other providers in this space. Pros Their online tools to manage your account are extensive as is the documentation and examples for integrating new products. Their online chat has always been helpful in working through issues. Address autocomplete works great to help reduce user friction and user input errors. Cons Our implementation of the address autocomplete stopped working and it was because they stopped supporting jsonp. Fortunately, the fix was as easy as not passing dataType: "jsonp" in my ajax call, but it would have been nice to have received a notification about this.
