June 26, 2025 5.0 I have been a Smarty customer for almost a decade now, and I have found their application to be solid and dependable. On the few occasions I have had to contact support, they were available and helpful. Pros Smarty's auto-complete and auto-correct functionalities are probably the features I like the most. But it doesn't stop there. Every address record stores the api information for that particular address, allowing me to get even more granular in accessing information related to the type of address (e.g. residential vs commercial), county, etc. Cons I don't really have any cons with using Smarty because it has done everything we've needed for what we use it for. A huge component for us is we still do a lot of physical mailing, so Smarty was able to help save a tremendous amount of time not having to manually verify a lot of data. We knew Smarty was working when we stopped getting so much returned mail. Pros I really liked the Enhanced Matching tool for List Processing data. The input and out process is unique in the sense that you can put a messy address in both single line and full addresses and as an output you get a more structured and uniform data set as well as accurate. Cons I struggled with adhering to the template for uploading. I wish there was a step where you could map the columns and add your own custom ones. The documentation made it super simple to get going and build a solid solution. It just works and there hasn't been any down time since we've been partners with Smarty. Overall it is a great experience--easy to integrate and just works. Pros I love how simple it is to interact with the Smarty APIs. I wrote the integration in a couple of hours and haven't touched it in literally months. Cons I was going to say price but for what we get and how easily we get it I think it is a fair value in the end. When we need to expand our address capabilities we'll be back. Their APIs, applications and services to access the data are simple, but complete. Pros I'd say two things: The amount of data they ahve and the tools they have to access that data. Everything you ever wanted to know about a property, they seem to have. Cons If it doesn't sound stupid, sometimes it's too much data to sift through easily. Once in place it's easy to monitor the usage through our account. We chose to save money by paying the annual plan rather than the monthly plan. Basically, getting two free months this way. Pros We added Smarty to the foundations register and donation forms around a year ago and it has greatly streamlined the form completion process. When reviewing the data on the numbers using the Smarty tool month over month, it's amazing to see! Very useful for us and our constituents Cons I don't have anything I dislike about this tool! Our use case is related to new residential construction, and they seem to be getting newly registered addresses with minimal delay. Cons There are a lot of different APIs and features. Integration was pretty simple - they have examples to streamline the process. Pros Fast, accurate address lookup integrated with our product, without introducing a "new and different" UI look and feel. Cons No complaints about the product. Pros It's fast in response even though we implemented it using a proxy on our app server and not hitting the APIs directly, it's still fast. Ease of implementation. Cons If you need county and 4 digit zip extension you have to use two end points and it's not included in the primary address autocomplete. We are able to validate postal addresses in seconds using their API, and couldn’t be happier. Cons We have some situations where a user would like to be able to do a manual address validation on their portal, but the link to the single address validator is mostly utilized as an advertisement for new customers vs. current. Pros Smarty allows me to very efficiently scrub my mailing lists and quickly determine which addresses are not worth mailing. The process is so simple, from uploading the lists to seeing the results. Cons Would like to have some ability to correct addresses that are not deliverable, or at least find out what is wrong with the address so that perhaps I could correct the address myself (e.g., apartment number missing). From creating an account to using it on our application, it's seamless, without flaw. I really wish we were using it a long time ago. Cons There really isn't anything that I don't like about Smarty. Initially, I was moving too fast and selected "Address Verification" subscription rather than the "Address Auto-Fill" subscription that I needed. But switching subscriptions was no problem. Pros I had a very simple need - verifying a bunch of addresses - and it was incredibly easy to do in Smarty. I also had a few questions, and their customer support was personable and helpful. I would definitely use it again if I had the same need! Cons While I had a simple need, Smarty certainly offers a whole lot more in its product suite. July 1, 2025 5.0 I recently had a spreadsheet of 4,400+ addresses that needed cleaned up, corrected and verified. Needless to say, this was a HUGE undertaking. I spent many hours refreshing my Excel skill to clean it all but couldn't figure out how to verify the addresses efficiently until I came across Smarty.com. This was an ABSOLUTE game changer, I believe it was about $250.00, it validates addresses tells you if they're mailable or not and even if USPS shows it as vacant. Happy sales force=happy sales manager=happy office manager. Pros The fact that it is fast and accurate, when met with a 4400-line spreadsheet in a new team I needed help, this was it! Cons Canada being in a separate search, it makes sense, but I wasted some of my searches because I didn't realize they were mixed in. This includes the autocomplete and the verification services. Pros The product is very robust, from a user and a developer perspective. When I’ve had questions about address records, customer service was able to provide very good insight. And the database seems very nearly complete, for the US anyway. (I haven’t used the international products.) Cons I am a developer and I had a bit of trouble integrating the autocomplete with JavaScript on a website. JavaScript is not my strength, so keep that in mind. But better or maybe just more examples of how to integrate it would have been helpful.
