It is a fast and efficient way to create professional looking videos without the need for a full production setup. While there are some limitations with realism and customization the platform delivers strong results especially for marketing training and scalable content. It is a great tool if you value speed and simplicity. Pros What stood out most about HeyGen is how fast and easy it makes video creation. You can take a simple script and turn it into a polished professional looking video in minutes. The AI avatars are impressively realistic and the voice generation is good enough for real business use especially for marketing training and explainer content. The user interface is clean and intuitive which makes it accessible even if you do not have a background in video editing. Everything from script input to scene building feels streamlined and easy to navigate. Another big advantage is how easy it is to scale content. You can quickly create multiple versions of videos for different audiences or languages which is a huge benefit for growing businesses. From a value for money perspective HeyGen can replace a lot of traditional video production costs which makes it a very cost effective solution. Pros I like that they keep on innovating and adding features that make it easy to produce content. I actually just got an update earlier today. Cons I don't like paying for additional custom avatars as it adds up quick. I'd rather be able to invest more into credits to produce better overall quality content. I downgraded to the free plan for health reasons, and now I've lost all my credits and can't download my videos. I have to pay again to do it. I don't understand. If I bought credits, I should be able to use them when I can, not when it suits them. It's a disgrace. Besides the numerous problems I had creating videos with Latin American accents instead of Spanish, which were impossible for me to understand, and the constant apologies from the creator for all sorts of design flaws, when I finally had them properly created, I can't download them because the free plan doesn't allow it. It's truly ridiculous. I'm never paying for or using this app again. Pros I didn't like it at all, and I don't want anything to do with this app. I wasted all my time creating videos with a premium plan, and when I switched to the free version because I no longer needed videos, it wouldn't let me download them unless I upgraded. August 6, 2026 3.0 Overall their service has gone from okay to good and now it's unacceptable. I don't even want to think about this but I may have to look for another AI video creation platform. Since this technology is still growing and changing, the backend of the company has to stay available for communication and the finance department has to remain open to reimbursing AI mistakes and errors. I don't think customer service or finance can create rigid rules and stick to them when the AI is still learning and making mistakes. Pros HeyGen's Avatar Shots is a great product that 70% of the time gives great results the first time. When the video isn't correct or needs to be regenerated HeyGen was good about reimbursing credits used to regenerage. Cons They recently did an update without notify and preparing their current customers. Avatar Shots wasn't listed on the "home page" and I had to go to the chat help to find how to use the product. Then I was unable to "generate" my video as the system was requiring me to upgrade...I had already upgraded months ago. Then I had over 3,000 credits that I had purchased that they took away and implemented a policy that credits could not be carried over so I lost all but 600 credits. Now, they refuse to refund credits for video shots where words are mispronounced. Pros heygen's new ai studio is great for quickly making movies. i type a story, choose an avatar, and in minutes i have a video that looks like it was made by a pro. it's cool that i can change how my avatar moves to fit the mood with motion control. lots of voices and more than 100 characters let me make things for my small business that look real. it also works great for social media clips.
