It has made my life a lot easier on a daily basis. Pros Using field materials day to day makes procurement very easy and simple by how organized the program is. Our accounts payable team has been integrated into field materials allowing them to use the software to ensure invoices are accurate and true. Field materials is really reliable when I need to procure material in minutes, since the program works really fast and immediately notifies vendors of our orders, whether it is a small order or a bigger order that would normally take a longer time to create. Our team uses field materials multiple times a day which definitely results in us getting our money's worth with such a great product. \[sensitive content hidden\] has done an amazing job training our entire team on the product and has answered every question we have given him. Overall, I’ve had a very positive experience using Field Materials. Pros I really enjoy using Field Materials AI, especially for the invoice process. The layout is simple, clean, and easy to read, which makes it much easier to navigate and process invoices efficiently. Compared to Vista, the workflow in Field Materials AI is significantly quicker and more streamlined. A lot of the process is automated, whereas Vista requires much more manual input and navigation. Field Materials AI makes it easier to review, match, and approve invoices without having to go through as many steps. Overall, I’ve found Field Materials AI to be a huge time-saver. The combination of the simple layout, automation, and faster workflow makes processing invoices much more efficient and user-friendly. Cons I honestly can’t say that there is much I dislike about Field Materials. Overall, it has made my work life easier and has helped streamline a lot of the processes I deal with on a daily basis. It reads and corrects misspelled items that even I may miss. Cons The only issue I have experienced this far is the lagging after price books were uploaded. The ability eliminate redundant document control and have one home for all material related invoices is an overdue concept for construction teams. Pros Field Materials quickly eliminated the amount of time I would typically spend updating excel tracking logs, scanning PDF's via copier machine, along with the document control that typically comes with that process. Cons Although the field materials user interface is very simple , it did take some time to get used to. Figuring out the roles between the field team, the accountants, and the project manager within the platform caused some frustration, however this is easily overcome by spending a week or two in the system. I am constantly trying to find ways to make tasks more efficient so I can prioritize human connection and relationships first. Additionally, Field Materials does a great job answering any questions we have promptly. Pros What I like most about Field Materials AI is that it is time-saving. It is very convenient to drag a PDF right into the AI reading feature. That way, I only have to double-check the order to ensure that the AI read everything correctly. I also appreciate how easy this feature is to use. Cons The only con I have is that once in a while, the AI feature will read a line item incorrectly. Weather that be on a materials order or something else, I will have to manually go in and change the line item to the correct name. Its been great to use and constantly gets updated with customer feedback. Pros Super simple to use, messaging feature is great, tracking orders is seamless with the Requested, Scheduled, Recieved, Completed features, i like how it just cuts the middle man out and orders can directly be send to our vendors and suppliers with ease, and can be tracked within the order by everyone. Cons The mobile app can be hit or miss for working properly or saving changes to reflect on the desktop version. It has saved us a bunch of time that we can spend elsewhere through automation. The integration with Sage Intacct has worked great. The support team is great they are continuously improving the system. Pros Field Materials has given us time back by eliminating simple time consuming tasks that can be automated by AI. It has also increased our visibility between purchasing, receiving, and invoicing. Being able to connect with our ERP and sync invoices has also been huge for us. Set up team and customer support are great and they are continuously improving and adding new features. Cons Syncing orders that pull from inventory to projects requires exporting a CSV and importing with import templates for Sage Intacct which takes a little extra time versus a sync. We use the inventory module and previously used average cost for inventory costing but had to switch to FIFO because average was not an option in Field Materials. Any issues we had were promptly resolved. Our experience has been top notch. Pros Field Materials AI saves us several hours each week on accounts payable entry. We no longer need to print and enter each invoice manually, we now just approve and import the invoices in bulk. We are now moving into ordering and receiving materials using Field Materials as well, this process also seems very simple. We love that it has already come out with updates and new features in the short amount of time we have been using it. Training is also outstanding. Cons We have not come across any cons yet. We had a few minor issues with the AI reading a particular vendor sales tax but Dylan quickly resolved that for us. I also appreciate that they are committed to continuously improving the software and that our customer success manager understands our ERP, has worked with construction companies before, and is always available for questions. Pros Field Materials has reduced the time it takes to process orders by 55 minutes. It gives our field teams the flexibility they need while providing clarity to our office. We can quickly analyze packing slips, invoices, and purchase order details. It’s transformed our procurement. Cons I don’t like that every order is saved. Sometimes the orders are misspelled or improperly labeled. It would be nice to have orders approved by the office remain in the system. We made a change from other Project Management software to this one, and it is swift to say the least. Since AI does majority of the job, manual edit is less thereby increasing efficiency. User interface is cool and team collaboration is best in this one. Another cool feature: Tracking the materials is way much easier, since AI reads the documents and matches everything with orders, packing slip and even the invoices. Pros It is fast and easy to use. AI does the better job in reading and extracting the information from the documents. Team collaboration is effective in Field Materials, Cons The AI is still inconsistent while extracting the info from documents. It is extremely consistent with pdf files but with another domain like jpeg, PNG it is inconsistent. This needs to be sorted. We have been able to condense things into one platform with ease and the reports help things track for deliveries in the field. Cons When toggling back and forth between quotes and orders, it often reverts to another project and have to refilter to the one I was looking into. Sometimes I forget and then can't find what I am looking for. It's probably just a learning curve to remember to filter appropriately. One of the things that stands out is we asked if the program could split invoice between multiple projects when we first stared with them at the beginning of February. They told us that they were in the process of adding that feature. In a mere two months when we were live with the program they launched the split invoice feature. Pros Field Materials is easy to use and they work with my accounting software so it made it that much easier to transition. The customer support is top notch, they schedule the training so you have a direct contact until you are completely comfortable with the program. Cons The only con that I can think of is the email inbox. We were planning on having our vendors email the invoices to Field Materials directly but that wasn't working. They really take the time to make sure you are comfortable with the platform; response time is great with answers to any questions. Pros The ease of issuing a PO. I can cut a PO in half the time now using this product. The ability to keep track of job costs. Cons It is always difficult to integrate change, but the Field Materials training integration team is very helpful, and I was able to jump in and start using it after our first day of training. Now everything is centralized and visible in one place. We can track orders from the field, match them with invoices, and keep our team in sync. The traceability has been very helpful for staying on budget and keeping projects moving without delays. The user interface is really friendly and easy to navigate, which makes a huge difference for our team. What really stands out is the traceability this tool provides. We can track everything we need without any hassle. Cons Getting field users up to speed on order placement can be pretty challenging. It takes some time to train them properly and make sure they understand the process and specifics. We did a 90 day trial that went well so we chose to sign an enterprise agreement. Everyone involved in the trial has been impressed. Our Purchasing department loves it because it has made them more efficient by not having to use three platforms (SmartSheet, Outlook and Vista). Pros There are several things I like about Field Materials: 1. User Interface - it's clean and intuitive 2. Ability to separate material types on a field requisition to obtain pricing from different suppliers 3. Inventory tracking - this has been great for us. We've historically not tracked inventory and ended up with material shorts because material ordered for a particular job were used for another job. 4. Ability to see actual vs. budgeted costs on one screen. Our Operations people love this. 5. Communication between our field hands and suppliers. We had some damaged material that our receiving person noted. The supplier was notified right away and responded within the FM platform about the replacement material being shipped that same day. 6. Ability to assign roles and how many approvals are required before an order can be placed. 7. Tight integration with our ERP (Vista). 8. AI component that scans a photo of a packing slip and automatically marks the respective material being received Cons We thought material receipts pushed to Vista, but they do not. The ability to keep everyone in a single platform has added immense value to our procurement process. Our trainer was also amazing—very helpful and made learning the system simple. Pros I love how easy Field Materials is to use and manage purchase orders. Field Materials makes AP super easy, and seeing our field upload delivery confirmations and pics right on the PO gives us peace of mind before paying—love it! Cons Nothing major—adding more columns to the PO would help, especially a length column since many of our items need it. This is in the works so it’s hardly an issue. It’s a small thing, but I prefer POs in portrait rather than landscape.
