I enjoy the app and so do my clients. I am still learning how to best utilize the routines and features such as body measurements and progress pictures.

Pros

I like that there are visual exercise demonstrations and the user experience (design) is clean. The ability to create custom exercises is also a plus.

Cons

Some areas for improvement include being able to adjust your clients name (vs. the username they select). In addition, being able to edit routines from the coach app vs. having to complete online would be nice. Some clients don't want the same routine each time and the app doesn't seem like it is designed for flexibility - I am in a small gym so the ability to pivot on the fly is critical.

Pros

Value for the money. I'm still fairly new to it but I love the exercise library. I also like that I was able to integrate my routines from the workout app.

Cons

Haven't found one yet. I would like to be able to edit my clients profile, like add their name if they don't put one.

Overall, I am very happy with this app. I have tried several competitors and this by far has the easiest interface for my clients. That is the most important thing for me is to remove as much friction as possible for my clients. All of the back-end functions definitely need upgrading to be more competitive with other training apps.

Pros

It is incredibly easy to use. Programming is a breeze. I can easily create custom workouts. As a Physical Therapist and a trainer, there is not a program that covers both prehab and strength training exercises. But creating custom exercises are very easy. Most importantly, the app is super easy for my clients to use. This was the main reason I selected Hevy over several other competitors. The price is very reasonable.

Cons

There is no billing option so I have to charge my clients separately. I do not like how I can't lock the programs I created. Meaning, my clients can modify a program I created during their workout and save the changes. I am ok if they need to swap out an exercise mid-workout because a piece of equipment is occupied, but I do not want them to be able to save it permanently. I would appreciate if you want to swap an exercise mid workout that the app would keep the body part the same and not go back to the base library. So if I want to swap out a dumbbell lat pullover, I would like to hit the swap button and see a list of lat exercises, not the whole library. I would like to be able to assign a workout on a certain day of the week. For example, if I create three workouts, they are listed in my client's folder and I cannot assign certain workouts on certain days of the week. Lastly, I would love if the Hevy app had offerings for coaching reminders, such as protein or hydration intake.

As a solo personal trainer running my own business, Hevy Coach has made program delivery and client tracking genuinely easy. It bridges the gap between writing programs and having clients actually follow them, which is something a lot of platforms get wrong. Highly recommend it for any PT looking for a simple, effective coaching tool.

Pros

Hevy Coach is a great tool for managing client programs as a personal trainer. Being able to build and send programs directly through the app makes the whole process so much more streamlined. Clients can log their sessions and I can see their progress in real time, which saves a lot of back-and-forth. There's also a built-in chat feature so I can communicate with clients directly through the app, which keeps everything in one place. The exercise library is solid and the interface is clean and easy to navigate. Clients pick it up quickly with minimal explanation needed.

Cons

The only thing I'd love to see added eventually is more branding customisation options, but it's a minor wish rather than a real issue — the platform genuinely does what it promises and does it well.

Loading on programmes for clients has been nice and straightforward, as has assigning them to them. One of the biggest bonuses is how easy the app is to use for clients, which makes them much more likely to use it.

Pros

The ease of creating workouts is a major bonus, and the exercise videos and description is great for clients.

Cons

No negatives to write about so far. But I’ve only been using it for one month. If anything comes up I’ll update this review accordingly.

My overall experience with Hevy Coach has been excellent. It has become one of my primary tools for delivering exercise programs to patients and athletes. The platform is reliable, user-friendly, and continuously helps improve communication, adherence, and training organization. It provides a professional experience for both coaches and clients while saving time and simplifying program management. I highly recommend it to fitness professionals, personal trainers, and healthcare providers involved in exercise prescription and rehabilitation.

Pros

Hevy Coach has been an outstanding platform for managing my clients' training programs. The interface is intuitive, easy to use, and allows me to create highly personalized workout plans efficiently. I especially appreciate the ability to track progress, monitor adherence, and make adjustments in real time. The visual presentation of workouts is excellent and makes it easy for clients to understand and follow their programs. Overall, it has significantly improved my workflow as a Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician and coach.

Cons

There are very few things I dislike about Hevy Coach. If I had to mention something, I would appreciate more advanced customization options for rehabilitation-focused programs, including exercise progressions, mobility protocols, and clinical outcome tracking. Additional reporting features and integrations with wearable devices could make the platform even more powerful for healthcare professionals.

Will definitely continue as having an easy way to interact with the work you put in the background matters so much.

Pros

The cleanest way I have come across for my clients to view and follow their training programs. I was tired of watching my athletes try and use spreadsheets on their phones mid workout.

Cons

A way to program overload into the pre filled sections. A work around was to just write it into the notes along with the sets/reps.

overall positive for the price point and easy to use as a coach. So many apps have useless features where as this is good for training.

Pros

I like how fun it is for the user. My clients say its easy to use and the layout is user friendly for beginners.

Cons

I would really like a way to review client progress on a lift within the plan editing screen. Having to switch tabs or pages or write down weights or reps can be a bit more time consuming. So having a way to review the progress of the clients assigned to that programme from that screen would be good. Or even just their previously attempt autofilled would be good.

Generally fantastic, and a solid starting point that is extremely affordable. Very glad that the app hasn’t been hit by the AI of it all yet. A very promising platform that has a lot of potential.

Pros

The exercise library is fantastic, assigning programmes is straightforward, the metrics and insights are detailed, especially how it links with Apple Health and also takes data from other fitness accessories to give a more complete snapshot at any given training interval.

Cons

I think the mobile app needs more functionality and true dedication put into it. A web-based app doesn’t suffice and makes checking in on clients more difficult.
