It allows me to easily connect with my clients, assign them personalized programs and see their progress. Pros Hevy Coach is so easy to use and incredibly customizable, any coach could coach any client on it! It is much cheaper while being much more effective than any other apps I have tried. My favorite feature is that you can build your own custom exercise library, with custom instructions and videos under every exercise. Cons The mobile app only allows you to chat or log your clients workouts. I would prefer if there were more options when on the go. There are some QOL features and Macro tracking integrations I want to see in the near future but I absolutely see and appreciate the vision for a training app without the fluff. For an in-person trainer this system is almost perfect. Pros I love that Hevy Coach has mostly stripped out the random nonsense that many apps have; it's easy to use for both the trainer and the client. It's clear to me that client experience comes first, because the "client" experience used to be the only experience. I absolutely love the UI. Simple, pleasing colors, great videos, super easy to add clients and assign programs to them. Cons While simplicity is great, I think there could be tools that allow for programming to go a bit faster. I often find myself wanting to make changes and having to do them one by one manually is a challenge. If I could group similar demographic clients together and apply changes to all of them at once while keeping their individual weights that would be great. I also hope that connections to macro-tracking apps like Macrofactor will be added soon. It would allow me to have a more holistic view of my clients lifestyles when I'm not with them. Can’t shut up about it. I’ve used both Hevy Coach and Hevy for my own programming. Really just being able to make the user experience as seamless as possible, the ability to write custom notes in every workout, and the overview is all I need. Pros Hevy Coach is the most user friendly coaching app I’ve used with my personal training clients. I’ve used apps paying 3-5x as much, and still prefer Hevy. I switched from a competitor where I was paying $250 a month simply for the user experience being so much more seamless. Anything to simply the process for my clients I will do - and that’s what Hevy Coach specializes at. Cons It’s a big ask, and I would expect a price increase if this was ever available, but custom branding and white labeling would be incredible. Pros It’s very user friendly for me and my clients. It’s very simple and you can out in your own exercises so you can always get the point across Cons Can’t put an RPE under 6. As a powerlifting coach in earlier weeks on compounds we often have light rpe for form and technique work so being able to out RPE under 6 would be very useful. It is so much easier than following a client around with a clipboard as I used when I first started training! Pros It is easy to use and even my clients who are not tech savvy catch on quickly how it works. I like the exercise library and how easy it is to add my own custom exercises. I also like that I am able to make a program library and store my many programs to use with various clients. Cons I think it would be better if you could have more clients on the app than ten for the base fee. Maybe 15-20? When you are staring out as an PT every dollar counts. Clients have found it straightforward and it presents a much cleaner interface and logging experience than my previous workout tracker Cons Only minor downsides that since workarounds but it would be nice to updates made. Only 1 progress photo is able to be uploaded per check in so in order to add a front, side and back view photo they must be logged on seperate days rather than all at once. When updating programs I need to have two windows open as it doesn’t show the previous workouts sets, reps and RPE while editing. So one window has the client last workout and the other window has the edit program.
