### "Great tool for those just starting their independent coaching offerings! "

July 29, 2026

5.0

Pros

The UI/UX is incredibly intuitive and smooth on both the coaching and client end! If I need to upload exercises that aren't included in the library, I'm able to easily attach Youtube and other open-source links without having to record them all myself!

Cons

I purchased a lifetime Pro subscription before realizing that the Coach subscription stood separately. I'm still waiting to hear back from the Support team about transferring my Pro subscription dollars towards the equivalent Coaching subscription timeframe. I do hope we can work towards a solution!

### "Great app but needs improvements!"

June 18, 2026

5.0

Overall, I am very happy with this app. I have tried several competitors and this by far has the easiest interface for my clients. That is the most important thing for me is to remove as much friction as possible for my clients. All of the back-end functions definitely need upgrading to be more competitive with other training apps.

Pros

It is incredibly easy to use. Programming is a breeze. I can easily create custom workouts. As a Physical Therapist and a trainer, there is not a program that covers both prehab and strength training exercises. But creating custom exercises are very easy. Most importantly, the app is super easy for my clients to use. This was the main reason I selected Hevy over several other competitors. The price is very reasonable.

Cons

There is no billing option so I have to charge my clients separately. I do not like how I can't lock the programs I created. Meaning, my clients can modify a program I created during their workout and save the changes. I am ok if they need to swap out an exercise mid-workout because a piece of equipment is occupied, but I do not want them to be able to save it permanently. I would appreciate if you want to swap an exercise mid workout that the app would keep the body part the same and not go back to the base library. So if I want to swap out a dumbbell lat pullover, I would like to hit the swap button and see a list of lat exercises, not the whole library. I would like to be able to assign a workout on a certain day of the week. For example, if I create three workouts, they are listed in my client's folder and I cannot assign certain workouts on certain days of the week. Lastly, I would love if the Hevy app had offerings for coaching reminders, such as protein or hydration intake.

### "Great platform to use! "

November 8, 2025

5.0

Very easy, simple to use, my clients love the format and videos that are in each workout. I also use Hevy for my own personal tracker too!

Pros

The software is super easy to use, my clients enjoy the platform, and it’s so easy to build new workouts on!

Cons

I don’t have many cons to go off, maybe just that I can’t access programs I built on my personal page. Another is there’s not many options for nutrition or meal planning.

### "Very promising "

May 13, 2026

4.0

Generally fantastic, and a solid starting point that is extremely affordable. Very glad that the app hasn’t been hit by the AI of it all yet. A very promising platform that has a lot of potential.

Pros

The exercise library is fantastic, assigning programmes is straightforward, the metrics and insights are detailed, especially how it links with Apple Health and also takes data from other fitness accessories to give a more complete snapshot at any given training interval.

Cons

I think the mobile app needs more functionality and true dedication put into it. A web-based app doesn’t suffice and makes checking in on clients more difficult.

Love it! Absolutely can not reccomend it enough and the lead tracker and link to an enquiry page included absolutely incredible!

Pros

I love hevy! I used it for my own training and tracking and when i was told about "hevy coaching" i instantly had to try it! Both me and my clients absolutely love it

Cons

I think the main thing that could do with some improvment is the layout on drsktop it sometimes cuts off towards the edge of the screen and no way to scroll to the right

### "Good but needs a few small tweaks"

May 18, 2026

4.0

overall positive for the price point and easy to use as a coach. So many apps have useless features where as this is good for training.

Pros

I like how fun it is for the user. My clients say its easy to use and the layout is user friendly for beginners.

Cons

I would really like a way to review client progress on a lift within the plan editing screen. Having to switch tabs or pages or write down weights or reps can be a bit more time consuming. So having a way to review the progress of the clients assigned to that programme from that screen would be good. Or even just their previously attempt autofilled would be good.

### "Streamlined program delivery for solo PTs"

June 16, 2026

5.0

As a solo personal trainer running my own business, Hevy Coach has made program delivery and client tracking genuinely easy. It bridges the gap between writing programs and having clients actually follow them, which is something a lot of platforms get wrong. Highly recommend it for any PT looking for a simple, effective coaching tool.

Pros

Hevy Coach is a great tool for managing client programs as a personal trainer. Being able to build and send programs directly through the app makes the whole process so much more streamlined. Clients can log their sessions and I can see their progress in real time, which saves a lot of back-and-forth. There's also a built-in chat feature so I can communicate with clients directly through the app, which keeps everything in one place. The exercise library is solid and the interface is clean and easy to navigate. Clients pick it up quickly with minimal explanation needed.

Cons

The only thing I'd love to see added eventually is more branding customisation options, but it's a minor wish rather than a real issue — the platform genuinely does what it promises and does it well.

### "A clean app that is helping elevate the client experience"

July 18, 2026

4.0

I enjoy the app and so do my clients. I am still learning how to best utilize the routines and features such as body measurements and progress pictures.

Pros

I like that there are visual exercise demonstrations and the user experience (design) is clean. The ability to create custom exercises is also a plus.

Cons

Some areas for improvement include being able to adjust your clients name (vs. the username they select). In addition, being able to edit routines from the coach app vs. having to complete online would be nice. Some clients don't want the same routine each time and the app doesn't seem like it is designed for flexibility - I am in a small gym so the ability to pivot on the fly is critical.

### "Excellent easy to use app. "

June 16, 2026

5.0

Loading on programmes for clients has been nice and straightforward, as has assigning them to them. One of the biggest bonuses is how easy the app is to use for clients, which makes them much more likely to use it.

Pros

The ease of creating workouts is a major bonus, and the exercise videos and description is great for clients.

Cons

No negatives to write about so far. But I’ve only been using it for one month. If anything comes up I’ll update this review accordingly.

### "The best fitness app of the moment"

June 3, 2025

5.0

I liked it so much that I didn't want to use any other. I know there's a very famous one, but it's more expensive, and I don't see how it could beat Hevy.

Pros

Its minimalism and how easy it is to use, sometimes less is more and in this case it is fulfilled but it does not mean that it does not have functions and capabilities.

Cons

Sometimes the weights are mixed up between lb/kg, which can be confusing, depending on whether you're using the app or the web version. The illustrative/attached videos are also somewhat hidden within the exercise.

Switched from

[Everfit](https://www.capterra.com/p/202837/Everfit/)

It's quite comprehensive, but trying to mix everything together becomes somewhat complex. Furthermore, you have to assign the plan by day or week; Hevy always leaves this within the user's reach.

### "Best app for my specific needs"

March 23, 2025

5.0

I love it. I know this app will improve more and more.

Pros

I love that the workout programs don’t have to be linked to a specific day. Apps that start screaming “you missed your workout” almost drive me nuts. This app doesn’t have that nonsense. Awesome!

Cons

The coach app could be better. I would like to be able to track clients progress there as well and I’d like notifications when they complete something.

### "Great software. Very, very happy "

November 3, 2024

5.0

Very, very happy love the simplicity and ease of use. Programs are now so easy to create and assign. Myself and my clients are very happy

Pros

Ease of use and program writing has become so simple. Clients and myself are extremely happy since I moved over to hevy

Cons

For example if you do a 1 arm row for two sets you have to set up 4 sets and track each side and if you have superset on it sends you to the next exercise and you still have another side to do of a unilateral exercise. Maybe an idea for all unilateral exercise would be to break the set up no matter how many sets your doing into a 1L,1R…..2L, 2R ect.

September 8, 2024

5.0

It's better than any other coaching software I've used for training clients. Plus, you can't beat the price. All of my clients love using Hevy! Great app guys.

Pros

From the perspective of the coach and client, it's extremely user friendly.

Cons

### "My clients love Hevy"

December 6, 2023

5.0

The customer support and team are extremely friendly and always respond to feature requests and work on them. Most other apps leave you in the inbox with a thank you message and take months if not years to process your feature request.

Pros

It's a simple and easy dashboard that has a very clean app with UI. It has all of the tools required to track progressive overload and make sure clients are enjoying their workouts. Compared to other apps they're either too confusing or have too many bells and whistles that make it confusing for clients. Hevy does a very good job at keeping things simple but extremely effective and easy to use. My clients love it.

Cons

The only struggle with Hevy is that for a fitness coach to provide full transformation it would be great to have it integrate with apple health so we can see data on sleep, steps, and so on.

Switched from

[ABC Trainerize](https://www.capterra.com/p/140262/Trainerize/)

Hevy is 10x simpler to use. Trainerize tried to become too many bells and whistles that were unnecessary. Hevy was simple and straight to the point and was easier for clients to use. Data Visualization on Trainerize was horrible. If you use Hevy you can EASILY see your clients progressive overload stats, volume stats, duration stats, everything can be viewed easily with charts innate in Hevy. While Trainerize you have to export data into a extremely messy excel file and then spend hours trying to clean it up to create graph.

### "The best coaching app I've used (and I've used a few!)"

February 13, 2024

5.0

I've used a few different softwares in the past to coach and there's always been something missing from each option. When HevyCoach released, it was the first time that EVERYTHING I wanted from a coaching app was in one place.

Pros

There's so much more data that I can use to track client progress. The ability to write up client workouts so that all they have to do is hit "start routine" is such a time saver on their side! It's just super easy to use and intuitive. I was using the normal Hevy app previously and as soon as HevyCoach was released, all my clients were moved to this within days.

Cons

I'd like there to be an ability to set client workouts in a calendar for an easier view of how the plan runs and how far they are along their plan. This would also mean that I could change their plan from week to week if i wanted to.

### "Great App for Coaches and Personal Use"

August 6, 2025

5.0

I’ve been using the Hevy app for almost a month now, and so far it’s been doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate even for beginners. Assigning workouts to clients is simple and efficient, and I especially appreciate how easy it is to create and add custom exercises. As a coach, this saves me a lot of time and helps me stay organized. Overall, Hevy has been a solid tool in my coaching workflow, highly recommend it for both personal use and client management!

Pros

User-friendly interface – easy to navigate even for first-timers Custom exercise creation – perfect for personalized programming Easy client workout assignment – makes managing multiple clients simple Clean layout and design – minimal distractions, focused on training Progress tracking – helpful graphs and history to monitor performance

Cons

Some features might feel basic if you’re looking for in-depth analytics Limited integration with other fitness platforms or wearables Would love to see more automation or scheduling options for client workouts

### "Easy to Use coaching software "

March 3, 2026

5.0

So far my experience with Hevy coach has been positive and my clients have been enjoying the switch!

Pros

Hevy coach gives both coach’s and clients a easy to use solution solution to coaching both in person and online, the interface is easy to use and covers the main basis of assigning programs, logging body weight/ other measurements and tracking progress clients get a video demonstration of the exercise to give them a quick reminder of form

Cons

The aspects I would say Hevy coach would need to improve on is being able to log nutritional data for your clients as well as a bette way to track/ Add cardiovascular fitness workouts e.g. Running, swimming etc

### "Great app for both coaches and clients"

December 18, 2025

5.0

Pros

I really like the Hevy app. It’s very easy to use, both for me as a coach and for my clients, which makes workout tracking simple and intuitive. I can easily follow the full history of workouts, which is extremely helpful for monitoring progress over time. Another big plus is the ability to customize exercises and add my own videos. This gives me a lot of flexibility when creating programs and allows my clients to clearly understand each exercise.

Cons

One improvement that would make the app even better would be the option to create custom intensity techniques. For example, being able to add and label techniques like partial repetitions (or other advanced methods) would be very useful for more advanced training programs.

The HevyCoach app makes my role as a trainer a breeze. It’s so simple to use and has a TON of proven programs & exercises that I can use to fit my clients needs. Pros
