You can often get a cleaner result by adjusting the triangle count and switching to tris, but the biggest factor is the source image. Photos with clear features and good lighting generally produce much better meshes. We’re also rolling out an update very soon that improves mesh resolution across the board, so results should get noticeably sharper. August 12, 2025 5.0 Very good, and I'll continue to use Sloyd a lot! I love the possibilities and I really love the customer service! Pros No AI slop. Because of the use of templates (I think), the structures created look good from the start and don't have odd slop around them. This may be somewhat limiting compared to "pure" AI, but I've not encountered any limits yet. I'm very pleased. Even more though, their customer service was great! I had some login/payment difficulties and ended up paying 4-5 times. \[sensitive content hidden\] at Sloyd was quick to email me to point this out and to ask if I was having any difficulties. He diagnosed the problem as my accidentally having two logins. He proposed a solution right away. It was great, and super-proactive! Cons I'm not sure if the use of templates limits what I can make, but for me right now it is a net plus to not have junk slop AI coming out, which I usually have with Meshy or 3D AI Studio. I am glad that I found sloyd.ai. Pros Its pricing is so low for what i can do with sloyd.ai honestly. Most negative thing I would say is time efficency. And some of the models create problems while i try to rig them on blender. Sloyd stands out and is in the top range of the tools I have tried. Generation times are a factor in my workflow, and Sloyd is comparable to other high end tools in this respect, even though the current UX does not show progress when generating, making the wait feel a bit longer. Sloyd came to my attention a year ago when it used pre-made shapes in its generative models, and I am hoping they keep innovating in this field. Pros Sloyd works different from other 3D generators and uses better geometry than its competitors. It is a very promising high-end generative tool. The quality of the 3d models was very good such that I could even make a print with a 3D printer. I like a lot the interface as well. Yet, this is the main benefit of conversational AI editing: you don't have to look for 'the right' slider to change something. I would need to work around the lack of specific models this tool can "generate" to build my game. I found far better results, cheaper and faster by simply browsing my game engine's preferred asset store for what I was looking for. Pros There's a library of extremely basic low poly models to use as placeholders in your game. Cons The mesh generation is lackluster at best, a blatant lie at worst. Generating a model is more like searching their library for keywords, allowing the AI to select a model that matches the best, then randomizing a few properties on the model. Then I stumbled on sloyd and decided to give it a shot. I was so impressed that I share the website with a few of my students on th same day. They were also very impressed and some of them became users immediately. I'm using the free version as a tryout but I am very impressed by its generative capabilities. Even the hallucinations can be fun to use. Pros Very easy to use and to export the 3D images. I had fun doing it and already shared with some of my friends and students. The UI is intuitive and the menu for adjustments is pretty neat. Cons Low resolution of the 3D images. But I am on the free plan so, cannot complain much about it. BTW we can predict when what we generate will not match the prompt very well (i.e. hallucinations) we opt to show a result anyway.
