April 4, 2025 5.0 I have been using Make.com until now. I was able to migrate the scenarios I created on Make.com to Latenode without any trouble. Unfortunately, I had some issues typing Japanese characters, but I was able to get around this by typing in another app (such as Notes.app) and then pasting. In Japan, no other no-code tools are known besides Make.com, but if this Japanese input problem can be solved, it will be able to surpass Make.com. Pros Very generous trial periods and credits. Cons Although it is a no-code tool, it allows for very detailed control and is intuitive to use. Very easy to use once you get over the initial learning curve. The interface is basic but very usable. Also, support is great and very responsive to my questions and support request. Pros What I liked most about Latenode compared to the competition is that I did have the ability to write code and create custom nodes. Most other platforms are strictly no-code, which for me really limited what I could create with my scenarios. I also liked the AI function to assist with writing code. It has been years since I wrote anything besides a simple script, so it was good to have some assistance within the platform when needed. Cons The documentation and training videos are not on the same level as the competition. Make for example has a great training program to really help a beginner to get started. A training program like that might have saved me some ramp-up time on the platform. I initially planned on building my system in LateNode, but I got sucked into the hype and promised "ease of use" of the other platforms, and they turned out to be a big waste of time. For my specific use case, and experience level, LateNode is the s#!^. Pros The best parts of using LateNode are the user interface and the code editor. They make creating automations so much faster and less frustrating. If you're interested in building or testing automations quickly, consider writing your own code. In my experience, building an automation in LateNode with the help of the code editor took less than half the time and was far less frustrating than building a similar one with Make and n8n. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for advanced and semi-advanced users, LateNode is the shhh! Cons I wasn't thrilled about not being able to use my own OpenAI API Keys in the OpenAI Node, but now I get why they decided to include it in their pricing. It is what it is! When I just got started, it was very hard for me to learn the basics. There should be a 1-2 hour long video that goes through everything a beginner needs to know in order to start using the system.
