Iotellect

## What is Iotellect?

Low-code IoT application enablement platform that helps enterprises, SMBs, system integrators, and OEMs develop and deploy IoT services with minimal coding. The platform's core is a 'Unified Data Model' that aggregates data from diverse hardware and sources by converting it into a standardized, "normalized" representation. All system resources and devices are organized into a hierarchical structure of data containers called "contexts". This model allows all system components and plugins—from drivers to analytics—to interact seamlessly and uniformly.

Reliable agent for remote data collection. We've been running it for about eight months now across ten remote sites, and it just works quietly in the background without any hand-holding. It saved us a ton of windshield time — we used to send a technician every time a meter stopped reporting, and now most issues are resolved remotely. The buffering feature alone paid for itself: we had a three-day network outage at one site and didn't lose a single data point.

Pros

Lightweight, runs fine on low-power industrial hardware. Polls Modbus devices and forwards data to the server without issues. If the connection drops, it buffers data locally and sends it when back online - no gaps. Remote updates are a huge time-saver, no need to visit every site.

Cons

Logging could be more detailed for troubleshooting. Initial agent deployment took a couple of tries to get right.
