Pros Most everything. I like how easy it is to register someone on my own. I like having the option of sending them a notification or not to. I like that I am able to manually register someone even when registration is full. I also like that I am able to cancel someone's registration. I last used this option to unregister a group of people who were all from the same company. This comes in handy, too, when competitors register. Cons From 'Attendee List' under 'Actions", I am unable to export a list of registrants. After using it for nearly 10 years, I trust the system to support high-volume registration, complex agendas, and detailed communication plans. It’s a dependable solution that keeps improving, and despite a few areas where usability and customization could be more flexible, it remains one of the most comprehensive event management platforms on the market. It’s a system I can confidently use to plan and execute professional, high-impact events. Pros Cvent’s Event Management platform is incredibly robust and reliable, especially for large or multi-day events. I love how much control it gives planners—from building registration paths to managing sessions, speakers, and communications all in one place. The reporting tools are another major advantage; being able to pull detailed data quickly helps with decision-making and post-event analysis. Once everything is set up, the system runs smoothly, and the automation tools save a significant amount of time. Cons Because the platform is so powerful, there’s a learning curve, and some workflows feel more complicated than they need to be. Occasionally, I've had to turn to Cvent support, and I've found the agents very responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. The best value is to purchase the premium support, for me the wait times are greatly reduced, and for new users getting answers quickly is what is needed. Pros Cvent registration is honestly my go-to product for curating personal registration experiences. With features such as logic based questioning, payment processing, and having the ability to assign different questions to your different attendee types, I've not found anything that the Cvent registration system cannot do. Cons The UI can be a little fiddly to find the settings you want to use, as the platform is so full featured it can be overwhelming. The help section and Cvent community is a great place for resources, but there are very little contextualized help for features within the settings themselves. Occasionally, we get an unknown bug or an issue which stops me from saving, but a refresh usually solves it. For times when I need Cvent Support, the ticketing system is fabulous and very quick to respond, although navigating Valerie is a chore to get to an actual agent. Personally, I don't think their AI agent is quite there yet, and it's rather annoying the 'raise a new case' feature has been removed to leverage Valerie only in the first instance. Cons It can be a little clunky to toggle from registration to registration when you are quickly trying to make mass updates. Overall, I felt like I could jump right in. My goal is to take what I have learned from Cvent Connect and make our registration even more customized for the attendee but simpler to manage for staff managing on the backend. I will also be utilizing Audience Segments in the future, so that we can push out customized messaging onsite to select people. Word to the wise - new Cvent users will learn tips and tricks by becoming Cvent Certified and attending Cvent Connect! Pros As a first-time user, utilizing this tool at a conference my company hosted allowed for quick, hassle-free onsite check-in. Attendees used kiosks to enter their name and their badge was printed immediately. The ability to create multiple registration paths allowed us to customize the attendee's experience from the moment they registered to first meeting them onsite. Cons We had multiple identifiers that indicated lanyard color, welcome message, and check-in gift (raffle winner, awards winner, speaker, etc.) but would like to explore how to make these distinctions even clearer for future events. The attendees should never see or feel a sense of confusion from check-in staff, which did occasionally happen. Recently we added OnArrival and that really expanded our functionality. This year is the first time we've been able to add Cvent Registration (I know, I know... we're doing things backwards!) and now that we're using the whole Cvent suite it feels like we're cooking with gas! Pros Cvent registration is a one-stop shop for everything you need to collect for events. It saves me time by having everything at my fingertips. Cons I would love some more functionality in the web designer. There are some spots that have limitations on the webpage customization. Sometimes we have issues with attendees choosing the wrong admission item, but that is on them. The use of templates is also a game changer. We can just update the thing we need and delete what we don't. Pros CVENT registration has come a long way over the years. They have both tightened the ship and expanded as well. The introduction of Apple/Google pay is a game changer. The payment process is easy. Customer support is sometimes wrong with their information, so I contact a specialist for more help. The Event management tool is now a breeze to use. With the new pricing section, inputing prices and refund is super easy. Cons The only con I have to report is with the Guest widget. You should be able to connect an admission item to it to isolate who gets to see the guest widget. Registration types doesn't cut it. So, fix the issue please! Because I am a true Cvent fan, I love every once of detail that is available to third party event planners, like me who have a wide range of clients with very different budgets and audience size. The Cvent Registration platform allows complete flexibility that my clients love! Pros I like being able to customize the look and feel of the registration process. Using the Access Portal is great for clients to see what is happening with their marketing efforts based on registrations in real time. I also like that the registration product is easy to use and if I have any questions, my support team and the community is just an email, chat, or phone call away. I use the Cvent Payments so that clients do not have to sign up for merchant services on their own, if they dont want to. Finally, Cvent Registration has saved my team and I so much time that it is truly giving us much more value than we ever imagined. My clients now request that we manage their events with Cvent! Cons There are still some features that are not available or still in beta testing. For my clients who live and die by finanacial reports, I have had to customize reports or send follow up documentation to show how the money on the dashboard matches or does not match what has been deposited into the account. I am excited for the new financial report option that should go live soon. Having to mark their event private on Eventbrite and still be shown next to their competition did not sit well with me. Eventbrite is great for people or businesses who are marketing to the general public. The type of curated events that we provide fits the Cvent system much better. However, there are some wonderful opportunities to grow it in the future. Pros I love the waitlist feature that is available for sessions. Right now we have been doing some manual work, creating advanced rules to limit attendees from waitlisting on multiple sessions. It would be really cool to see there be a waitlist ranking feature - where you could rank what sessions you want to join in order though. Cons The limitations to only having one session widget - making the session selections ENDLESSLY long. One of our clients does MANY incentive programs, often in international locations, offering multiple days of activities and dine arounds. It would be nice to be able to split activity selections into different days, avoiding the extremely lengthy session selections. It has been a fun tool for site building and it's super quick when people call in to get registered for our events rather than keeping tabs on this information elsewhere. Pros Easy to navigate - features are always evolving for users. I enjoy learning how to build out our sites in a unique way. Cons Sometimes it can be unclear how to proceed once you get error alerts on your pages. Doesn't always address what the issue is fully. I execute the registration process management from the beginning until being onsite with the On Arrival solutions. Pros I like that the Cvent Registration system creates an easy seamless process for our attendees. The registration process is easy to use from an attendee perspective as well as from a planner perspective. The contact records also make it easier for our members to have their information saved for many events. Cons I think there could be improvements to how event templates are managed, specifically email templates. I like the ability to customize what I need for all parts of the organization to get who it there. Cons It is hard to find lists quickly. When searching for specific types of attendees or something special on their registration type it is not one click. The ability to have different registration paths for different attendees types is very helpful in our industry. It has a been a great experience for group to use our events. Pros The registration portal is very user friendly provides an easy experience. I like flexibility of the setup for registration and the ability to have multiple payment types. Cons It is hard for new planners to learn the process of setting up a new event. The training provided is good for a basic event but is not as helpful for more complex events. Also it would be nice to make bulk edits on some of the sections.
