Pros
I especially love the interaction checker to make sure if that certain medications do not interact with each other and are safe to give at the same time.
Great database of the medications, easy to use. Love both the mobile and website verison.
I like the ease of use and the wealth of information at my fingertips.
Very thorough reference, with tons of good information. Also love the PDF pamphlets that can be shared with clients to keep me compliant with pharmacy rules.
Cons
I'm having to rely more on paper copies when I'm working remotely. Losing value in the app.
I don't like the calculator, too difficult to use.
Nothing - I can of think of anything that is missing.
The only thing that I dislike is the increasing cost.

"The most useful app in veterinary medicine"
Overall: very nice and user friendly, clear and quick information. Would love to have a FRENCH VERSION :)
Pros: quickly search dosage for cats and dogs with an icon that brings you right on the useful information, have almost all the drugs I need, very detailed, very user friendly. I love it!
Cons: mmm almost nothing but if I may find something to say, i would love some duration of therapy guidance, especially for baby vet . Say like a skin infection: amoxcillin-clavulanate 12,5mg/kg PO BID, would be nice to say 'most commonly used for 2-4 weeks' but I think some drugs do give that information just not enough for my liking
"Highly recommended for all veterinarians "
Overall: I was a fan of the manuals but once I bought the online subscription, I was hooked. Having the ability to find the new medications and having handouts for all the medications available (not just the ones from the book we purchased 17 years ago) makes it even more useful.
Pros: I like the ease of use and the wealth of information at my fingertips. The dosing information by species makes it much easier and the option of adding bookmarked information is wonderful (so I know my preferred dose for a granuloma or other specific disease). I also like that it is continually updated and corrections can be made. I like having my preferred drugs easily at hand. I really appreciate being able to print or email drug information for/to clients and I can personalize the notes if necessary.
Cons: it's a bit pricey but I like not having to buy a new manual every few years to get the most recent medications and changes in dosing protocols. The new format I find a bit more complicated to navigate but the more I use it, the better I will get.
"Review of Plumb's app"
Overall: I'm having to rely more on paper copies when I'm working remotely. Losing value in the app
Pros: Ease of use, the searching bar, complete and organized info
Cons: Will not work in areas with no internet or in airplane mode. If I'm doing a house call in a remote location, is inaccessible
"Amazing time saving app"
Pros: I like that it’s always being updated, medicine is ever changing so a textbook makes less and less sense when doses could have changed since it was published.
Cons: It seems like the “dosage forms” are for the US so being in Canada it is not always accurate.
"Essential part of my job"
Overall: Overall it is a wonderful product and greatly enhances my ability to practice medicine
Pros: The ease of access and the setup is easy to find drug doses and more important information.
Cons: The cost has gone up quite a bit and there are no retention discounts for those of us using for years.
"Use all day, everyday!"
Overall: Overall, love this app and advise it to every veterinarian I speak with.
Pros: I love the notes that I keep for certain disease's and medications. I have anesthesia protocols saved there. I have treatment plans... I love the notes portion!!!
Cons: I do not like when I am looking at dosages and then attempt to look at dosage forms that if brings me back to the original search screen every time. I wish I could go directly from dosages to dosage form. Also, the cost of Pro. I want to transition over because I LOVE Clinician's Brief and reference it for so many things but have not justified the cost yet.
"Plumbs Veterinary Drugs"
Pros: I love the ease of access and simplicity of finding exactly what information I need. I especially love the interaction checker to make sure if that certain medications do not interact with each other and are safe to give at the same time.
Cons: I wish it was easier to put personalized notes in about certain drugs.
"My Most Used App"
Pros: The search feature combined with the link at the top to directly scroll down to the Dosages. I also love the notes section to put in my own common doses/treatments.
Cons: I have not come across anything that I dislike while using the Plumb’s App.
"Plumb’s in my pocket every day"
Pros: I love the access through the app on my phone
Cons: Not exactly a “con” but I would love a pronunciation guide for the drug names. I think there are many that we can spell but may not pronounce correctly. I vaguely remember an app, maybe not Plumb’s, that included an audio file with the pronunciation
"Best app ever!"
Overall: The Plumb’s app makes my life as a Relief Veterinarian so much easier. Being in the go and traveling to different clinics, this is one less thing I have to worry about if the clinic doesn’t have Plumb’s or a current edition.
Pros: I love that I have access to this formulary no matter where I’m at in the clinical setting and it’s always up to date.
Cons: Difficult when my phone signal is poor, but that’s not really an app issue. The recent updates have made it more user friendly.
"Essential Practice Tool"
Overall: I only started using Plumb's 8 months ago and it has become an essential tool in my daily practice of veterinary medicine.
Pros: As a veterinarian with a busy schedule, having mobile access with the App is the number one best feature of this product. It is user-friendly and offers many extras such as drug handouts and an interaction checker.
Cons: Would like a few more options available on the calculator such as mg/m2
"Essential tool"
Overall: I use it every day, interaction checker is nice
Pros: Clear concise and fast to search through
Cons: The FIP treatment is not in yet and we are waiting after that
"Plumb's Review"
Pros: Client information, interaction checker.
Cons: Harder to look up brand names, especially in the interaction checker.
"Very useful product!"
Pros: I primarily use the mobile app and love it. I like being able to search for different drugs. I like being able to jump from dosing information to formulation availability. I can favorite medications to find them easier in the future. I also appreciate that it tells you different doses for different disease types.
Cons: The price has gone up over the few years, but hasn't priced me out yet. I do wish the Plumbs Pro was more affordable for a single user.
"Interaction Checker!!"
Overall: I have kept my subscription for years and can look up drugs easily.
Pros: I look up drugs daily, can go straight to dosing information, and has an INTERACTION CHECKER that I use all the time!!
Cons: Cost, but it’s is still very worthwhile.
"Best pharmacy app"
Pros: Well organized and summarizes everything you would need to know about a particular medication.
Cons: It is costly, but worth it. I'm sure there are parts of the app that I could take more advantage of.
"Excellent resource"
Pros: Well organized pharmacological information easily and quickly accessed.
Cons: Specific information for the USA (I am Canadian)
"My daily app!"
Pros: I love that I can quickly look up medications and dosages and know everything about them. My favorite use is on the desktop where I can use control F to search for specific key words
Cons: I would like to be able to search keywords within a medication page on the phone app
"Best work app!"
Overall: I can find up to date information fast; other vets here are using the (old edition) print version, which is a lot slower and may be outdated information.
Pros: Constantly updated. Easy to use, right in my pocket. Trustworthy. References provided.
Cons: The price of Plumb’s Pro is a little too steep for me.
"Plumbs app"
Overall: LOVE IT. It’s easy to use and can find what I need in a moments notice
Pros: I couldn’t practice without it. I love the adverse effects and also that i can easily access which drugs can be used together
Cons: Nothing It’s the best app ever I can’t practice without it
"Review of Plumbs"
Pros: Ease of searching for medications and finding doses quickly. Ability to make notes on medications to remember things for future use
Cons: Cost of individual app subscription for one year
"Best pharmacy app"
Overall: We love the app but it is too costly to bring onboard for the hospital to use completely.
Pros: The apps i easy to use and comprehensive
Cons: the cost is really high and i cannot justify it when there are other options
"Plumbs is great on the go"
Pros: I love the app so I can look up dosages/uses for specific drugs while I’m on the go in between rooms.
Cons: It’s a little pricey, but well worth the money.
"Pocket help"
Pros: Mobile app with access to all of the drugs I use regularly. Dose options as well as overdose and interaction information available as well.
Cons: Nothing of consequence that affects my everyday use
"Great mobile app"
Overall: Great information, and the mobile app is essential since I travel for work.
Pros: Being able to have access to drug information anywhere I go
Cons: Sometimes I am logged out and it takes a minute to log back in. usually when I need to access information quickly.
