It truly is the most invaluable resource I can imagine to the veterinary community. Pros Easy mobile use, covers so many species with the inclusion of many special species, very comprehensive list of medications, many helpful tools, easy to view info. Cons The special species/exotics portion of the formulary is robust but not comprehensive enough, I still need Carpenter’s to reference for many of those species. I would like better info on dosage forms that can be compounded for common meds. Review Source CC Christine C. I would be less likely to continue if the price continues to increase. Pros The app is easy to use and allows for you do so many things such as a Favorites list of the drugs you most commonly use, ability to place/save personal notes (I use this when I've gone to CE and the speaker recommends different dosages, etc.), drug interaction checker (useful for when you have patients with multiple conditions). Cons The least favorite thing about the app is the price. It seems every year the app increases in cost. My job will not pay for this. If I didn't use the app frequently, I would not continue to get it. Within the app itself, I wish there was a dose calculator where I could plug the animal's weight (pounds/kg) in and get a dose or range. Review Source AP Abigail P. Search bar function is great—you can start typing name and medication pops up. I love the newer drug interaction checker—this alone has been worth the cost of subscription and makes it extremely easy to search for multiple drug interactions at a time. Cons The newer mobile app version has worked flawlessly for me so far, but previous version had some kinks where I couldn’t use search bar function. On rare occasion, I have looked up medication for which no information. While not cost prohibitive, it’d be nice if subscription cost was cheaper. Review Source LB Laurence B. Would love to have a FRENCH VERSION :) Pros quickly search dosage for cats and dogs with an icon that brings you right on the useful information, have almost all the drugs I need, very detailed, very user friendly. I love it! Cons mmm almost nothing but if I may find something to say, i would love some duration of therapy guidance, especially for baby vet . Say like a skin infection: amoxcillin-clavulanate 12,5mg/kg PO BID, would be nice to say 'most commonly used for 2-4 weeks' but I think some drugs do give that information just not enough for my liking Review Source RM Rebecca M. Having the ability to find the new medications and having handouts for all the medications available (not just the ones from the book we purchased 17 years ago) makes it even more useful. Pros I like the ease of use and the wealth of information at my fingertips. The dosing information by species makes it much easier and the option of adding bookmarked information is wonderful (so I know my preferred dose for a granuloma or other specific disease). I also like that it is continually updated and corrections can be made. I like having my preferred drugs easily at hand. I really appreciate being able to print or email drug information for/to clients and I can personalize the notes if necessary. Cons it's a bit pricey but I like not having to buy a new manual every few years to get the most recent medications and changes in dosing protocols. The new format I find a bit more complicated to navigate but the more I use it, the better I will get. Review Source CH Catherine H. The mobile app is well designed Pros Plumbs is my number one database for anything you’d need to know as a prescriber. The drug highlights, dosages, adverse effects, etc. are all critical reference points for medications I use commonly and uncommonly. Cons I wish I had easier access to dosing forms. I like being able to search for different drugs. I like being able to jump from dosing information to formulation availability. I can favorite medications to find them easier in the future. I also appreciate that it tells you different doses for different disease types. Cons The price has gone up over the few years, but hasn't priced me out yet. Pros As a veterinarian with a busy schedule, having mobile access with the App is the number one best feature of this product. Pros I love that I have access to this formulary no matter where I’m at in the clinical setting and it’s always up to date.
