We initially used a tool called ORB since we only offered usage-based pricing. However, as we transitioned to hybrid pricing with both usage and subscription-based models, ORB couldn’t support our needs. Zenskar, on the other hand, supports multiple pricing models and is highly configurable to suit any scenario. This will allow us to scale effortlessly in the future.

Pros

Zenskar is incredibly easy to set up. What I loved most is that it's fully configurable and not restricted to just usage billing like other tools.

Cons

Nothing specific comes to mind as a con. They have some fantastic features in their roadmap, and I’m eagerly waiting for them. If anything, the 'waiting' could be considered a minor downside. :)

Even after onboarding, they've remained highly accessible through email, Slack, and calls whenever I have questions or doubts.

Pros

Zenskar has simplified custom billing for us. The platform is highly intuitive, and once I got the hang of it, my team and I no longer needed to rely on our engineers to adjust pricing. This allowed us to be more aggressive with pricing experiments. It was as easy as selecting different pricing options, discounts, free trials, and schedules. Implementing Zenskar completely transformed our AR workflow. By automating billing and collections, we eliminated hundreds of hours previously spent on grunt work each month. Having all the AR metrics in one place (pending invoices, aging reports, outstanding balances) gave us clear visibility of our business performance. Was there a ramp-up period to get everything configured? Sure, but their responsive support via Slack made that process smooth. Any upfront hassle was 100% worth it to finally get our usage-based billing under control.

Pros

Zenskar finally solved our constant nightmare with usage-based billing and receivables. We eliminated undercharging and revenue leakage from invoicing errors completely and recovered around 4% more revenue just from getting the billing right with Zenskar. It automated the entire invoicing process, from tracking usage to making sure customers get accurate invoices with automated communications. Their reporting also gave us clarity on cash flow. We can check on any pending invoices, see breakdowns by customers, understand our outstanding receivables...it's all there. Made my life much easier.

Cons

Some minor bugs here and there, but we have open communication with the Zenskar team via Slack, and even a year into using their platform, they fix bugs raised by us promptly.

Zenskar automated our entire billing and rev rec workflow and saved a lot of time for our finance team. Their integration with Salesforce NetSuite also worked without hiccups. I no longer need to calculate revenue on a spreadsheet and recognize it manually. It’s all taken care of by Zenskar, and I can just run reports and analyze revenue growth in the dashboard.

Pros

Implementing Zenskar was easy. Their team did most of the heavy lifting, with little engagement from our engineers. Zenskar integrating with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Avalara was a huge time saver for us. We got up and running in 2 weeks and sent our first invoice with Zenskar. Zenskar also integrated with Redshift to aggregate usage data, and automated the entire invoicing process – reducing our involvement in manual work significantly.

Cons

Nothing much. It’s a great product with excellent support. Their team is just a text away on Slack, and ready to solve our queries promptly.
