Municipal511 Reviews
Pros
Overall good experience and would recommend to others.
My overall experience has been excellent, it is very easy to use.
Very easy to use and understand. It's great there are cameras that can be utilized as well.
I think it's a pretty good system - It's very organized and user friendly.
Cons
That when the notice is issued the From is Transnomis, this confuses people on regular occasions as they are unaware of what the email actually contains, and often delete.
Users forget to end notices and some users are inconsistent with use.
There is no mobile app and a singular password login.
Road closure options can be confusing to select.
"Fantastic Product!"
Overall: This App has been very useful for a situational awareness perspective for our Paramedic Duty Commanders as well aids in a central location for all road closures. This used to be stacks of faxed notices, now all live. Takes some effort to get all the other partners to buy in at the begining but its fantastic now.
Pros: The ability to have all information, multiple layers all in one place is fantastic. We have also taken advantage of the abilty to create emergency management exercise layers to simulate a diaaster event. Very useful.
Cons: Forgetting my password is annoying when you switch devices, but thats not a software problem. Can't think of anything specific i dont like off hand.

"Municipal511 Requested Review"
Overall: Positive. Once familiar with the application it is mostly user-friendly.
Pros: Map based. Data validated (e.g. selective lists).
Cons: 1. Setting notifications and contact list. I'd rather push the notification to myself and use our internally maintained notification list since the contact list in Municipal511 does not appear to be maintained. 2. Road closure options can be confusing to select. It would be nice if there was a tiered entry process, e.g. i) what is the location, ii) what is the activity, iii) what is/are the traffic impact(s) (lane closure, full closure, detour, etc.), iv) schedule/timing.
Vendor Response
"Not everything needs to be an email."
Overall: 511 is necessary but shows more data than I require. For instance, I receive closure notices for communities I do not serve.
Pros: The interactive map shows all closures. This is useful.
Cons: The emails are intrusively numerous. They are so common they are rarely reviewed.
Vendor Response
"Great Municipal resource"
Pros: It's efficient, being able to schedule closings in advance is a great feature, user friendly.
Cons: That when the notice is issued the From is Transnomis, this confuses people on regular occasions as they are unaware of what the email actually contains, and often delete. Then contact us to say they were not in receipt of the road issue. It would be a great improvement for the email to be noted as from "Town of Petrolia Notifications" rather then "Transnomis Notifications"
Vendor Response
"Two Thumbs Up"
Overall: I find it easy to use and like how email notifications are sent for overdue issues (ie. long-term construction and need to extend dates)
Pros: Ease of use, especially with editing issues, such as extending dates. Additionally the "last description" box in Entry Details.
Cons: I tend to just copy and paste the Entry Detail in section 3 to the Comments section. It seems redundant. Possibly have the system auto generate the comments from section 3 to Comments with the ability to edit/add other comments?
