Also the ease of sharing reports to third parties, that's one of the reasons why we got DataTako because Microsoft work well for internal users but when it comes to sharing reports to external users, you will have to go through lots of hoops just to make it work. Pros Easy setup and integration with MS PowerBI, even a non-tech person can set it up. Easy sharing with external parties. Easy user and groups management. The 1-month free trial to test it before committing to a subscription plan. Lots of similar services out there doesn't offer a free trial. Cons Non so far. Everything is going great. Maybe provide an option to show reports as thumbnails instead of just the name of the report. That would make it more aesthetically pleasing for the users. I was looking for something to share dashboards with my customers and this matched perfectly! Pros Easy to use, very fast to setup and inviting customers was easy. I was setup within probably around an hour if you include whitelabeling the portal. After that the management of dashboards and users is very straightforward. Cons Not all the guides they posted matched my particular situation but they fixed it via chat. It was mostly around white labeling the portal and that was easily fixed. Would like some more options for that but it is good enough for now. Would highly recommend it to others. As a freelancer, DataTako provided the ideal solution to facilitate access to the client’s dashboard in a very professional looking environment. It is so much easier to use than the Microsoft offering. Pros DataTako is really easy to use and looks extremely professional. I was quickly able to share a client’s dashboard, add users to report and have it looking very professional using their logo and branding. Compared to Microsoft Fabric, DataTako is a breeze to use. Cons There’s very little not to like. I could be wrong but I don’t see the ability to have different branding on seperate reports, in the event that I wanted to host reports for various clients each with their own branding. It truly delivers what it promises - at a very fair price. Pros With DataTako, we can provide all our employees with daily updates on their individual performance at a very reasonable price - something we wouldn’t do with Microsoft. Since we started using it, the solution has improved a lot, and the support has been outstanding. The DataTako team is always available for questions and ideas, and they go above and beyond to keep us happy. Cons There are still some possible improvements, such as enabling login via SSO, but DataTako is open to working on this and keeps us updated on the progress. We branded the portal in our own style, pointed our domain, and rolled it out to clients with minimal effort. The unlimited-viewer model for a very sharp price per user has been a big win, especially when dealing with clients that have larger teams. Security and access control are well covered, and embedding into client apps is a nice extra option which we use for several customers. Overall, it fits perfectly into our workflow and has become the default way we deliver BI to clients. Pros What I like most is that I can roll out fully white-label client portals under our own brand. Custom domain, logo, and colors. It really looks like our platform, which is exactly what we want. Another big plus is that we don’t have to worry about buying individual Power BI licenses for each viewer. Data stays in our Power BI tenant, and we can just invite as many client users as needed. Security is solid with user groups, RLS, and support for SSO/MFA, which gives us peace of mind. Onboarding was really fast. We had the first clients up and running the same day. Cons It’s focused only on Power BI, which works for us, but if a client uses another BI tool we still need separate solutions. Figuring out the right capacity setup also took a bit of trial and error at the start. And while the usage analytics are helpful, I’d love to see more detailed insights since we manage many different clients. Whenever I had questions or needed support, the customer service team was quick to respond and very helpful. DataTako has helped us save on licensing costs and made our BI workflows more efficient.
