I would give the overall capabilities and value a 11/10. Pros Loved the white glove service and they fully took on the responsibility of onboarding with no extra costs. The tool itself allowed me to integrate all data streams and while a lot of companies talk about one source of truth - Drivetrain actually delivered this through flexibility of the tool itself but also through its expert onboarding team & continual customer support. Cons I think the hardest thing about drivetrain is the mapping functionality in order to get all your reports working in the way you expect as well as aligning different sources of data to ensure they are abled to be reported together. This aligning is not always easy to figure out yourself - but the team itself is always on standby to help with this which is amazing. We have completely mitigated our risk of being dependant on single individuals owning and maintaining excel models/spreadsheets. Pros The Drivetrain team is truly amazing — extremely supportive and solution-oriented. They co-built our financial models with us to perfectly translate our former Excel logic into Drivetrain. Implementation was smooth and very collaborative. Pros Drivetrain allowed us to significantly streamline our monthly reporting and planning processes. We struggled to incorporate multi-dimensional planning across different segments of our business with our old tool (Mosaic) and this would be nearly impossible with Excel. The flexibility of Drivetrain's tool has been unmatched and was the reason that we made the switch. The Drivetrain team has also been great helping us with any questions that we had during the implementation. Cons While the flexibility of the platform can allow your team to do more complex modeling than is possible in Excel and other tools, the ramp for setup and training on this could be longer than expected depending on how complex your models are. For example segmenting our ARR by channel AND product would have required multiple supporting metrics to create in Mosaic but was intuitive and easy to set up in Drivetrain. - Drivetrain's data integration setup was also superior to Mosaic's which allowed us to streamline out HRIS data integration. - Mosaic's tool could not support our more complex planning use cases and would frequently crash or slow down on us. Reasons for choosing Drivetrain We also evaluated Aleph. We liked Aleph more than Mosaic too, but found it be a more Excel-native tool than what we were looking for given the stage of our company and modeling needs. Pros Drivetrain is so flexible and allows you to easily aggregate multiple sources of data to create a financial "one-stop-shop" for your actuals and forecast for any financial or KPI data.
