It’s my go-to image generator. Pros Gemini is great at producing quality images and especially good at keeping consistent characters when trying to mix a reference image with a scene. Cons I do find sometimes when making changes or edits, the Ai will hallucinate and continue to give me back the same image repetitively. In those cases I save the image and open a new chat to continue. Pros Gemini excels at breaking down complex machine learning concepts. I just ask when I don't know which model to use or how to fix a bug in my Python code. It gives me answers that sound like a person is talking to me. It works very quickly and helps me come up with new ideas for my data. I also like that it can look at my big datasets and tell me what's important. It saves me a lot of time looking things up on Google. I pull my phone out and ask questions or give instructions or to schedule items on my calendar or task list. I use it for research and brainstorming, and business analysis. I use it for creation, and summation. And I know it can do a whole lot more, so I ask it to show me blind spots so I don't get locked in by my own thinking. I thought I was using a tool, and that tool taught me how it can be a valuable partner in helping me in my business. Pros A lot of people talk about how "great" the competition is for what it is, but I use Gemini like a true partner in my business. It feels like it's steps ahead of every other AI Ap when used like a personal assistant. I have it on my Android phone, connected across all devices and tell it what to do. Schedule my calender, open an Google Doc, write this outline or proposal. It does all that and probably more, I just don't know how to use it all. Yet. Gemini got integrated into my life because of how well it performed. I expect it will only get faster/better and easier. Cons I tested every AI when it was released, and found them all to have some of the same problems. Overly cheery, or like cheerleaders instead of mentors with access to vast databases of knowledge. That has been corrected for Gemini, but it still feels like it's on rails, at times, in providing answers. When I ask it to help brainstorm, it gives me information that's already on the web instead of actually combining ideas or cross sections in new ways. I'm told that's going to change as AGI gets more versions of itself, making each release better. Pros I have used Gemini primarily for image generation and editing, though also for writing content creation from my outlines and prompts. The image production and editing is very easy to use and much more productive and valuable than those from other AI models I have worked with. Cons There is a learning curve with any new model one uses. I had been primarily using another one for text editing and wordsmithing, and I think I still prefer that one for text drafting. It saves me hours of library time and writing every week. Even with some bugs, this is hands-down the best AI tool I’ve ever had for keeping a grip on my team’s data and strategy. Would recommend that for any busy leader. Pros I already use Gemini everyday to keep up with this heavy workload. It’s absolutely terrific in abstracting the content from lengthy feature requirement documents, and quickly help me think of what more I can add to my product genre. The integration with Google Workspace is a massive bonus for my workflow. It’s like having an incredibly smart assistant who knows the technical context in which you’re writing. Cons Sometimes, the tool provides more general-type answers which aren't as helpful, so I have to ask it multiple times before we get deep technical detail. Also, the UI gets a bit crowded when I'm working on much longer threads. I do wish the prompt version control was slightly better. I can get opinions and feedback for even subjective topics, which used to require me to sit down and verbally hash out with another person. But now, I can send Gemini off to do online research for me (via the deep dive research feature) and synthesize results masterfully for me to review, and discuss topics that I need help deciding/reasoning about. Highly recommend Gemini for all text and (static) image-related processes! (I can't comment on video creation, because it's just not something I've played with yet.) Pros Google Gemini has become my go-to AI tool. Obviously, the quality of AI tools has exponentially increased over the last year, across the board. But my experience has been that the quality of Gemini results have been slightly superior to others. Gemini does an excellent job of incorporating information from earlier in your chat, new information you add, documents you upload, etc. It's easy for me to use, because I tend to be verbose in my descriptions, which can be difficult for a human reader to follow. But in an AI prompt window, relevant verbosity is a benefit. I've not searched for any customer support for Gemini, and I doubt Google would offer any; but it's great that you can just ask Gemini about its own capabilities. I've even asked it to generate its own prompts to generate images in the course of a long chat, and the resultant images were perfect for my needs. The "deep dive research" feature is super cool, because it's essentially your own research pro with (basically) 100% real/verifiable results from hard (live, active web) sources! Cons The most frustrating part about Gemini is an apparent glitch that happens when you have too much text/chats/prompts/context. A lot of my AI "chats" involve a lot of back-and-forth as I push toward some conclusion or data report; and it's not uncommon for me to encounter a point in the conversation where the ai results effectively halt/stall out. I'm willing to give Google a little grace here because I assume that this is more or less a current limitation in AI tech: current AI just can't handle infinite input data. But it is frustrating when you've developed a long chat that's leading to good results, and then you can't make any more progress because Gemini just starts giving "new output" to your prompts that don't make any changes. It will get to a point where, even if you tell it "I don't see any difference between your last 2 outputs," it still can't seem to generate a unique output anymore. Another huge problem I recently encountered in a long chat was that, after I returned to the saved chat a few days later, I could no longer "scroll up" all the way to the earliest prompts and outputs. E.g. I generated some output image A, then a lot of back-and-forth chat, then output image B. But when I came back to review the chat, I couldn't scroll back to find/view image A anymore; and Gemini didn't remember that image A was a part of our context!
